Best 22 for Round 1, 2017
Bring-Back-Powell replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Who plays on the following? Riewoldt Membrey Bruce McCartin. A big and potentially damaging forward line to match up on. -
Brendan McCartney on list update

Can anyone take a guess what Bugg can bring to the table this year. What are his strengths and his best position? Sounds like he's had a fantastic pre season so far and is giving himself the best chance of cementing a best 22 spot. -
In the afl website's 'rank the defences' article, the writer(s) mentioned that he could be a star. So he's already getting noticed by the wider community. Also, the year after he was drafted (2014), Finey and Rob Shaw on SEN hinted that the kid had star material written all over him as evidenced by his high school form. Right from his debut against Collingwood, he showed something. I'm bloody excited about this prospect.

St Kilda have a better forward line than us on paper. A forward line of Membrey, Bruce, McCartin, Riewoldt, Weller and Billings looks fantastic to me.

HS Bicks weighs your AFL team’s chances with his 2017 preview
Bring-Back-Powell replied to JAG007's topic in Melbourne Demons
If we finish 9th, win 12 games and have a percentage of over 100 then I'd say the season would be well and truly a pass mark. -
HS Bicks weighs your AFL team’s chances with his 2017 preview
Bring-Back-Powell replied to JAG007's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yeah I reckon using the tiredness as an excuse for the shocking Carlton loss is/was a cop out. They either came in with huge heads and just expected it to happen after two excellent wins over Hawthorn and Port Or Didn't want to play finals as they knew deep down that they wouldn't be competitive if they made it. -
However North have broken their record for this time of year, so expect them to at least get to their final tally of 2016. I'd like to beat all of North, St Kilda and Bulldogs but it's possible we could have the least of all 4.

The Big Story - Max Gawn in 2016
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
What does sponsorship of a player entail? Does the player receive 100% of the sponsorship dollars (not that some of them really need any more money) or does it go to the club, or a combo of both? -

I would assume he was at training, given that he's still on the payroll and isn't injured (at least physically). -
Who will be our third tall forward?
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Bobby Clark's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes, if he plays like he did against Gold Coast late in the year. He single handedly got us back into the game with 3 big goals when we were looking down and out.- 127 replies

2016 Player Review - # 8 Heritier Lumumba

I still think the doors slightly ajar for LaBamba to return to the club and play more games for the club. -
2016 Player Review - # 8 Heritier Lumumba
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry to high-jack the LaBamba thread, but in relation to the above article about AHG sponsorship: Given that we're on a lookout for a back of jumper sponsor, does that mean AHG are kicking in less money this time around? I guess so given that they'll have less exposure on our jumper. -
The fact that he won 2 or 3 'Jim Stynes' awards for his work in the community would suggest that he's a pretty decent character.

2016 Player Review - # 8 Heritier Lumumba
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm still holding out hope he returns to the club. At his best he's a very good running defender and we can never have enough depth in certain positions. Three of his 5 games (North, Collingwood and Richmond) in 2016 where actually his best for the club and it's a shame his concussion halted his momentum. On a side note, I hope the passing of Muhammad Ali is still not affecting him too much. -
Something to do with Etihad being unavailable that last weekend due to concerts.

Will this be the first time in the club's famous history that we get a pre-season win at Casey?

He should be there. He's a paid employee of an organisation and therefore should be performing his services. -
12 wins with a percentage of over 100 would be a very good result. As well as not losing games when we're $1.25 favourite. Scary to think that had we'd beaten Essendon and Carlton as well as only losing to Geelong by 40 points in the last game, we would've played finals.

Is it any surprise? Him and his Essendon mates were on the sauce overseas for about a quarter of the year. -
So it looks like he's doing everything in his power to make amends after a poor 2016.
