  1. I'm genuinely shocked he's kicked 21.12 this year considering his set shot woes in front of the sticks. If he can somehow kick 9 goals over the final 4 games, he'll have a 30 goal season under his belt which is a good effort for a fwd/mid.
  2. As i mentioned in the thread above, between rounds 6-11 of 2018, we were averaging a measly 62 points against per game and had a W/L record of 6-0 and Lever was playing good footy. Then in the next 3 weeks (after his ACL) we conceded 134 points against Collingwood and 117 points against St Kilda. The other game against Port was a defensive slog in which our forward line let us down. I would argue we had a cracking defence during that period just before he went down with his ACL. Having an underwhelming return to AFL I agree, but he still took 9 marks and some of them contested against the Saints.
  3. Lever has had a very ordinary return to senior footy after an ACL layover. He wouldn't be Robinson Cruso there in terms of players coming back from an ACL. However, he was playing very good footy prior to doing his ACL last year, particularly between rounds 6-10, and I can specifically remember DL going into meltdown when news of his ACL was confirmed. Our defence went from averaging 62 points during Lever's spike in form, to a 20/20 cricket score of 134 against the Pies, the week after he went down. He was also nominated in the All Australian squad of 40 in 2017. That's a very good sign right there. I'm not fussed how he finishes the year, however we are entitled to expect a very very good 2020 from Lever considering the investment we put into him.
  4. If Melksham, Hore and May return this week, surely it would be our strongest side of the year. T Mac, Weed, AVB and J Smith only missing.
  5. It was a pathetic performance considering the average opponent, but the Geelong round 2 loss was by far our worst performance.
  6. Wow, McKernan and Stringer celebrating goals like they’ve just won a flag. They’ll win tonight but it’s effectively a loss due to the percentage they should’ve picked up against GC.
  7. I think was just the Sydney win in rd 4.
  8. Bitterly sad to see a once in a generation ruckman carry this pathetic excuse of a footy side. 6) Gawn 5) Petracca 4) Harmes 3) Lever 2) Oliver 1) Frost
  9. Oliver can’t handle a tag and he’s clueless as a forward.
  10. Champion Data ought to be embarrassed by that ranking. The second worst side in the league getting ranked 1st. Got a feeling we'll get skinned alive by the media if we lose this week and rightly so. And a few assistant coaches fates will be sealed as well. Losing to St Kilda twice in the one year would be a disgrace and an embarrassment.
  11. The only minor win out of selections is the non selection of Jack Steven. That guy usually destroys us.
  12. Yes, and if we lose to St Kilda this week the narrative moves from injury riddled to just simply no good.
  13. Pleasing to hear that Melksham might be back next week for the Richmond game.
  14. We should ask to play North up there, considering we've been forced to play at their dump of a ground 3 of the last 4 years. Make St Kilda or Dogs the other side. To make this venue a genuine home ground advantage, we need to stop playing against the SA and WA clubs.
  15. As what you think will happen or what you want to happen? No way Lewis is getting dropped.
  16. The only change I want to see is Preuss out. Gawn has won 2 All Australians as the sole ruckman so just stick with that formula. Preuss is useless as a forward-ruck and is actually a liability up forward. In - Weed or T Smith Out - Preuss
  17. I would delist Maynard, Stretch, JFK, Keilty, the Wagners, T Smith (always injured), and possible even ANB and Garlett before I'd get rid of Lewis. So on that basis he gets another year.
  18. Josh Kennedy aside, Hurn would be the first id love as a late out.
  19. Anyone worried we’ll run out of gas in the second half due to the oppressive 21 degree heat?
  20. A year’s a long time in footy. The last time we played in Alice , Alexander Neal Bullen kicked 3 goals and got the 3 Brownlow votes. Last week he almost made the distance from a 25 metre snap on goal.
  21. Wooden spoon eh? Cant really see GC winning 3 of their last 5 games.
  22. It was probably the same peanut (Vardy) who pushed Gawn over after he injured himself in the goal square.
  23. Spot on with May. We’ve got a bit of a weapon at our disposal with May. Just hope he can snag a couple if thrown down forward. However with Darling, Kennedy and Oscar Allen, you’d think he’d be required in defence all day.
  24. Our constant injury excuse wears a bit thin when you see an undermanned Essendon missing high quality players, win a game in hostile territory. Or maybe sides like Collingwood and Essendon (who can win with numerous injuries) have far better depth than us.
