Goodwin was just on SEN 1) Gawn will play 2) Watts's scan came up clear. As long as he gets through training tomorrow will play. 3) Hibberd will 100% play. Always pulls up sore with his tendons. 4) JKH will play this week. 5) I might have made up point 4.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 13
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Gawn wasn't selected because they don't want him to back up his return on a 6 day break in WA next round. And that's why he's also a chance to miss the WC game next week as there's another 6 day break for the Sydney's game. i must be the only one not exited about his return. He's going to be woefully underdone in the first couple of weeks before he hits his straps. -

Casey Demons v Collingwood VFL

I hope we don't regret rushing Salem in for Wagner who is starting to heat up. -
But to counter that we've got Collingwood this weekend who are coming off the highest of highs. not sure which we'd rather?

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I thought the players were on notice after the raft of suspensions after round 2. To be honest I expected way better from Salem. Seemed like a real level headed kid both on the field and off it. I'm expecting a great performance from Salem like I did from Lewis in his return game vs Essendon, which he duly delivered. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just someone around here reporting that Wagner appeared down in the dumps at the end of training today as he's probably made way for Salem. Ironic as Wagner finally got his kicking right in the second half Vs Gc and it was clearly his best game of the season so far. -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 12

1) Collingwood always said that Fasolo would miss last week and be a chance for for Queens Birthday. 2) the last time we had a player roll an ankle at training was Garlett last year, and he missed 2 matches. Watts is far from a certainty. 3) interesting they rushed Salem straight back in to the starting 18after some disgraceful and unacceptable undiscipline vs North. I don't blame Wagner for sooking it up at training(if true) if he's the unlucky guy to make way for someone that let the team down so badly. -
Collingwood are definitely the most injury depleted side we've played all year.
-
Could we do no change? Has Salem warranted an immediate return after a silly and undisciplined act? Does his overall form in 2017 gain automatic entry in our best 22?
-
We've done well to go 3-2 without a ruckman. The one game that really stings is the Hawthorn loss given how pathetic they've mostly been this year.
-
I would rather he stays but I fear the club might make a tough call on VDB and delist him due to his constant injuries.
-
Elliott a chance to play according to Geoff Walsh on SEN this morning.
-
Our list management has been pretty good but did we do enough to convince Howe to stay? A bona fide star.

If Wells and Elliott miss next week and we lose I'll be shattered.

Actually that's a great point. 4 losses in a row at the G plus a guaranteed spot in the 8 should be a motivation enough. Its annoying how we can't back up wins.
-
Would it not be prudent to give Hogan a run at Casey next week to get his touch back? While it would be awesome to have him back for Q'bday, he's had a very stop start season and I can't help but think he'll be very under done for such a crucial game.
-
Is it just me or was that Toumpas's best career game? Certainly his least mistake riddled game. Fair to say he's a player that plays better when the team's playing better.

By this stage last year we lost to a VFL side, St Kilda wiped us off the floor at Etihad and we were never in the contest against the Dogs (as opposed to this year where we've lead or been even in almost every last qtr). Our percentage flattered us as we had a cheap win over a depleted Gold Coast (75 points) and a hopeless Brisbane (60 points). Our crowning achievement was beating GWS in round 1. The only significant negative this year are our MCG losses to Freo, Hawthorn and North. We have improved to this stage, but we need to better our 5-7 run home of last year. Having said that I think we actually played some solid 4 quarter games in the first half of 2016 against teams such as Collingwood and Richmond. We can't say the same about this year.

Why is Salem an automatic inclusion, particularly after a win and no injuries? I thought the club was no longer standing for cheap shots such as the Hogan and Lewis indiscretions.
-
In - Hogan, Salem out -2 of ANB, Bugg, O Mac or Wagner ANB played his best ever game but is always thereabouts when it comes to omissions. Wagner all of a sudden learnt how to kick at half time. so he probably stays. Bugg presents really well but 0.7 might come back to haunt him at selection. O Mac is O Mac, and his older brother might take over his role. However O Mac might stay if we still don't have a ruckman with T Mac rucking a fair bit.

If we get done today, I hope Goody refrains from his typical: "We're inconsistent because we're a young and developing side" We're considerably more experienced and older than GC today.

Last week the Umpires didn't call Ben Brown to play on, 40 seconds into his set shot. They were correct tonight. incorrect last week.
