  1. Odd that Richmond made 3 unforced changes while Carlton made none, and yet it was Richmond who won by 7 goals.
  2. Tyson desperately needs to cut out those horrible elementary turnovers he's prone to do, for him to be considered an elite player or even remain in the side.
  3. Kreuzer's been one of the main reasons Carlton have beaten us the last 2 times. He's a quality player that shouldn't be taken lightly.
  4. Therein lies the problem. The MRP hate intentional off the ball incidents. Plus the St Kilda player went down like a sack of spuds which won't help Bernard. He'll either get 3 down to 2 or 2 down to 1.
  5. The last time we beat Carlton on a Sunday was round 22 2007. We're also 0-3 against them in the 3:20pm time-slot
  6. Three down to two. intentional elbow to the head. No excuses.
  7. I don't think he'll been seen until round 4 or 5 through suspension.
  8. I'm glad we're going in as clear under dogs vs St Kilda for the first time since 2013. It's as if the players checked the odds prior to each game against them and accordingly gone in with big heads.
  9. Yep spot on, but as Artificial Wisdom pointed out, they all play well against us.
  10. Dempster, Montagna and Acres always [censored] us as well.
  11. Weller seems to always kick his 2 or 3 against us as well. I would like Tommy Bugg to be our 'Mav Weller', but he's not playing. It could be false speculation and he ends up playing but I thought it would be worthwhile sharing.
  12. No. Looks as good as ever. Speculation on the Aints Bigfooty that Weller could be a late out for Acres or Lonie.
  13. Gibbs and Cripps got about 90 touches between them last year. I will be mortified if we lose to them next week..
  14. Given we're supposed to be only playing 100% fit players, I'm surprised Hannan and Jetta got a gig. Both spent much of Jan-Mar in rehab.
  15. That would be an unpleasant surprise.
  16. I'd have to question Goodwin's priorities about winning this game if he selects Weideman and leaves out Watts. Weideman will struggle to get 4 touches, 2 marks and a Joe the Goose goal if he's lucky.... nowhere near enough for a key forward and basically a liability, which is what he was in the last 2 games of last year and the West Coast JLT game. He'll be a great player from 2019 onwards, but he's nowhere near ready. Watts will give us at least 15 effective disposals. 1-2 goals and a frustrating head in hand moment. He must play.
  17. Could've fooled me. The report obviously overlooked the whopping 8,500 crowd we got to a recent home game on the Western fringe of the CBD. We'll get about 34 Melbourne supporters at Etihad Stadium this weekend.
  18. Good attitude.
  19. Post of the year, decade, century. The stadium is on the fringe of the CBD, literally a 5 minute walk from Melbourne's second biggest train station for Pete's sake! I was embarrassed and ashamed of our club when not even 9,000 supporters bothered to show up for the Melbourne V GWS game at Etihad in 2015.
  20. Sadly no. Next week (round 1) was going to be his last chance at resurrecting his career but that's been taken away from him. The Dunn trade has gone from a good will trade to Dunn and Collingwood to a bit of a disaster for us, given that we have neither Garland or Dunn as the veteran back up this year. At the time the trade made sense but who could forsee Garland doing his ACL?
  21. If it ends up being Spencer's one and only game for the year, you won't have to be a fortune teller to work out the outcome of the game. Hopefully he gets selected over Weideman and hopefully he has a positive influence.
  22. Not a chance. They won't get more than 35k to the game. Melbourne supporters cannot or will not turn up to Etihad.
  23. I cannot see the logic in not selecting him for round 1. He's our premier small defender and St Kilda have some dangerous small forwards in Gresham, Lonie and Weller.
  24. But surely having AHG for free is better than having nothing on the back of the jumper for a couple of games. We look ridiculous without a back of jumper sponsor. I know PJ will get a good deal done, but am surprised he hasn't got one finalised before the season proper. Very surprised.
  25. That's true, the Hawks and Geelong wins were our 2 best wins since 2006 and he was absent in both games. On the flip side, I still can't believe we lost to St Kilda last year when he kicked 7.
