  1. You are assuming that travel games are harder which isn’t the case all the time. WC and North at Blundstone are easy games It often depends on the time that are played at.
  2. Back in the bad old days mo more please we deserve marquee games on free to air
  3. Well the Club has the say so let’s get behind their choice and after all Windsor could be great at pick11. I want Curtin also at 6 but I’m a key position down the track.
  4. They really need to do a lot Better don’t they?
  5. Agree but as below post Leake and I say or Windsor at 11 would be nice additions to our list.
  6. The best reason is probably a contract that may involve games as guaranteed. I don’t know MCW but as you know most other important facts within the Club you may care to check on our commitment there. The AFL have carefully eased us into Ikon Park as it was necessitated under their own KPI’s. They can’t increase rounds without certain crowds and TV audiences. Also they know they are in trouble when the big 4 play each other and struggle to get 3,000 or more, Ikon Park or no Ikon Park. I believe a 17 game season 8 home one year and 9 the next with 4 and 3 Casey games if contracted incorporated. Interstate at Casey and Blockbusters at Ikon. Maybe there just will never be a game vs Kangas that will draw more than 4/5,000!
  7. Well that might change if a concerted effort was made to do that. Also I believe the Club should be proactive in trying out a supporters bus to Casey from near MCG or FlindersSt/ Southern Cross. Anyways let’s concentrate on the back to back Flag which will along with our not to be underestimated McClelland Trophy win ( heist almost) and it’s just rewards to both our AFL and ALFW groups. We missed out on the real Chocolates 🍫 in September and only the smart fans and footy nerds know how close we really were. They would be shaking in their shoes if we ever get a functional forward line with all players fit and firing and available. In addition two almost ready made recruits one a mid and the other a versatile KP player or Harley Reid on his own would do no harm at all to our chances. We might have a little bit of mud on our boots at the moment but the $1m is a circuit breaker and base which we can and will go forward with confidence and purpose into 2024. Go Dees.
  8. Agree reckon he will be a mid with us Terrific run and carry and long left foot kick. Made for us just at the right time. Ouch you are looking at an outside runner here that we need. Our half backs should be more attacking. Can’t see why not. Judd Riv and Bowser and Salo can all get on their bike. Let’s see them do that.
  9. Boy you sure can kill a party !! you’d be upset if we lost a mill I bet so give credit where it’s due. Well done all the players good team efforts.
  10. I am talking about Caleb Windsor. It’s his thread and we need his style to add outside run to our midfield.
  11. Got the response your suggestion deserved. One emoji !!
  12. While I respect what you have written I font like the nature now that you can’t reveal what the actions are. If it’s Maysie at the BAndF and this debate has continued I don’t have an issue with that. I believe speaking the hard truths is the only way to resolve some issues. Perhaps the public nature doesn’t sit with everyone but really by next season ( actually pre season commences) the Club will have discussed all the issues and a way forward implemented. More likely you are referring to a star player and his situation snd as it has been requested that privacy be given you are like me bound to refrain from further comment. It is ongoing so here’s hoping about its income being positive. I have faith in the Club handling it despite your concern. Some events have been prior to recent and can’t be loaded into todays fish and chip wrappers comments. I fully expect a 2021 attitude will be back starting from our training blocks in late November. Nothing less will be required for us to climb the mountain again successfully.
  13. It’s a judgement on season 2023. That’s not stupid if you take Jack’s performances. Clearly his best season by far.
  14. “No one is gone “ Papley stayed at Swans after wanting to go to Carlton so we don’t know for sure. In. Year or two’s time.
  15. That makes the draft about “6/8 short” in the first round if the experts are any guide!! You can only select from the players available any way.
  16. That’s not looking at a half glass full. Better to look at good points than the bad. How else do you judge a player. ? Highlights are better than nothing. Prey tell me who you have earmarked or noticed about not having some flaws in their highlights and they have been chosen. Wrong approach. You can eliminate some flaws and get to know them once a recruit arrives at your Club. That is part of development. Some Clubs are better at it than others. All players at 1& need to work on their game In the AFL also.
  17. Look at his style of play on his highlights. He is very necessary as our running does not cover metreage.
  18. Great summary We need him type of player as outside runner.0
  19. I think that’s wrong it’s about $800,000 p.a. And the first year is front loaded from then. But I could be wrong! .
  20. You’re kidding It’s has more wind than Casey and would be colder with the icy sea breeze. Only advantage is it is closer to city. Whoever suggested Punt Rd is also way off the mark. No facilities and Tigers recognise that and don’t use it now.
  21. Trade is not always about Clubs getting the biggest stars and please tell me who got any A graders in this years trade period. it’s about improving your list, patching up holes and also creating depth. North? Bombers ? Blues? Pies? Swans? Not any there on 2023 form. Some had 4 goes at it.! Adams McKay Grundy Hollands and Doedee are possibly the pick. Some are paid overs like Petts would have been at his stage of development a little like many Dees fans have accused us getting May and Lever. ( I don’t agree as we have won a flag and our defence keeps on giving us that opportunity each year) Tom Lynch and Jeremy Cameron are also prime examples of successful trading. They are ahead of most in recent times although Tigers have Taranto and Hopper which may prove worth their deals in time. Of course Hawks boosted their team in their last years of their dynasty. No draft selections of any worth are often a result. We are lapping it up with 6 and 11 due to Jackson leaving. So in the last years it’s been lean pickings on the numbers of elite players when you consider the numbers. Quite rightly we have traded for strengthening our weaknesses and for depth. Grundy aside has not worked and Schache was mishandled by our Coach after a curious Sub selection He might have been a hero replacing Tmac for all we know. Your statement about our lack of stars is correct in standards but you have to look at what we are replacing and what bus available. To say we are not a destination Club is also curious. Two players from interstate have stated their intention to want to come and since Goody has been here we have recruited Vince Langdon Lewis May Lever BBB Hunter Cross Schache McAdam Fullarton Grundy Melsham Hibberd Billing’s. That’s 15 and you need to check a few in the same time of 7/8 years for other Clubs. Five are premiership players, Four AA and others are valuable contributors to our development of our culture and depth. And this years 3 who knows how they will be judged. Probably the most valuable and impactful recruiting in a single year May have been the Pies four of 2023 of McStay Mitchell, Hill and Frampton. But that is the exception rather than the rule and no top 30 player is there as you indicated you wanted.
  22. Pies don’t get more than 2/3,000 at Vic Park and 2,700 Tigers vs Dons attended the Dreamtime game last round. We are not any different to most Clubs ( although we have a very watchable and high class team) for fans. It is a AFLW problem and KPI’s for games development are not being met nor are TV audiences. Until the AFL ramp up it’s considerable might and settle on a program of 17 rounds it will be considered as a minor diversion to the men’s no matter how good the standard.
  23. Clearly we need to be creative with a supporters bus/es leaving MCG or Nearby for Casey. Give it a go and see the response. Having said that WCW most fans going to Casey would drive there. That’s obvious from our numbers. Another 500 went to the Adelaide match because of its prestige and rivalry. Very few would depend upon transport even locals. That’s where a bus/es as a trial from the Club would be interesting.
  24. That’s like trying to win the lottery with one ticket and a million tickets. We have 2 first rounders and need quality not quantity to add no raft of late picks. 6,11, and Kynan Brown as F/S should be a god draft haul indeed. This might leave one pick for the SS pick or a mid year addition. Simple but a clear opportunity to improve our list by another 3 youngsters including 2 of the best dozen in the country along with a developing prospect for the future.
