Sam Weideman + contract
All good points made by "Weed lovers"! we all knew what the " Hogan type role " is and that's to kick about 2 goals per game. What Sam brings is a more traditional role with some surety in marking leading and bringing the ball to the ground fir our other forwards preferably crumbers. Also a small diminishing hopefully ruck assistance occasionally to Gawny and Pruess if and when he gets his chance. Sam also can mark around the ground not necessarily as good as Hoges. The big difference will be not that Sam May kick more goals in his career than Jesse but he craves and prospers on a big stage (ie big games and finals) whereas Hoges was all lost and bothered vs the big clubs and games hence the about 1 goal per game ave in blockbusters and finals when you need hiM to stand up. Assustance in goals will come from Tommy Mac 50/60 Smithy 30/35 Milkshake 30 Trac 30 (if accuracy more maybe) ANB 25 easy goals AVB 20 tough goals Pruess anD Maxy 25 marking/kicking goals. Clarry/Angus resting 20 plus depending upon time up forward. and crumbers Spargs Jeffy Hannan And say Chandler/Bedford Hunty 35 or more total. Versatile players like wingers and other mids Stretch Jack V Jonesy Salem will also feature. The backline will be meaner as the season goes on with May and Lever finding their feet and a lot tougher hopefully without suspensions. So Sam needs to play his role some days a lazy 2 and others will get 3 or 4 because of his superb kicking. Good base to structure enough wins for a Top4 position to launch our flag attempt.!

Target 70,000
My reply is in the Round 6 Melb vs Bulldogs thread DV8. Sorry for that placement.

Target 70,000
Lots of players go at least to the Army area maybe write to the Club and ask them to come over. With more members some will be in the "Outer" so a gentle reminder would be suitable. Good luck!

Target 70,000
It's your choice to sit In The Southern Stand the race for our players and change rooms have been on the Members and Northern Stand side.as long as I have been a Dees Supporter (1958) so the Mountain is not moving for Mohammed!!

Target 70,000
All good comments re our potential for Membership growth this season. 1. Dogs increase from 35,000 in 2015 to 47,000 in 2017 was based on the 2016 flag and Ballarat members coming on board (about 3/4,000) from my limited knowledge. We don't have a country boost but I believe a bigger supporter base potentially that cares and is crying out for success as each year passes and performance and success is more believable. 2. Those 90,000 plus fans in both finals were made up of a majority vs Hawks and a 75% mass of Red and Blue. Ie 67,500 est .Many in the Members (MCC) were I suspect either latent Dees fans using their ticket or visitors or guest tickets. Definite potential for new MFC Members (Dogs don't have that base) 3.There is no doubt the viral posts on social media since the 2017 disaster and subsequent Jack Watts media outrage are behind us and the good feel factor and vision is of a Club on the rise (4 years in a row) and football quality on our list sells HOPE and SUCCESS.Those 2 qualities are Huge motivation and therefore can be untapped results in the making. 4. I have enough faith in Gary Pert's goals and aims. Tempering reality with about a normal 10% increase will mean 50,000 in 2019. I sort of think we may get about 55,000 this year or more but perhaps not 60,000. The 70,000 will be a flag based increase or sensational continued performances of consistency over the next 2 seasons. 5. I remembering laughing at Ben Gales 3 -0-75 talk. It happened and has flourished. 5. Let's start by Gary's aims of 40,000 vs Power and I reckon 80,000 is well achievable for Round 3 vs Dons if both Clubs compete well in Rounds 1and 2.Plenty of presale tickets seem to have already commenced with 2/3 of the parts of the ground sold out. GA being one of the only 3/4 areas to be purchased. Good luck to us in 2019 many of us are living our dreams and hopes of decades of disappointment. 6. Don't miss it It's happening before our eyes and IS REAL

Salem Re-Signs Until 2021
That's not the current opinion of AFL people at the moment! Kelly is one of the best disposers in the AFL ! Christian is playing career best footy at the moment as a result of extra work and commitment during the last 2 pre-seasons. Deserves any luck after injury cruelled his first 2/3 seasons. Csn be even better off the wing in a premiership team!!

Lyon: Oliver is Demons best EVER midfielder
Reckon he was saying Jack could be better than Todd not Clarry! only my take on the comment and the jury is still out but Jack has to be available consistently!

Sam Weideman + contract
Figures don't lie and we just couldn't get our forward line working vs top sides with Jesse as spearhead. Loved Jesse but Sam is a great kick for goal is a natural player with no worries and external pressures to sidetrack his performance. Watson is right the week after Joges went down we solved it sndcgur the next 6 weeks started our run and looked like the team we all want the Dees to be. OnwRds and upwards with Sam have no doubts he will succeed.

Sam Weideman + contract
Sorry Wrecker you are not on the money with that opinion. Sam's field marking has been one grab in R23 and the two MCG Finals. Last goal vs Geelong was as clean a mark and follow through kick off his left foot as you will see. Jesse was not always a one grab and I think Sam is as good and will be better overhead in the near future. Cant wait to see him keep improving all aspects of his game. Kicking for goal is elite by the way.

Sam Weideman + contract
Big futuregir Sam Love his commitment skills awareness of Team responsibility and faith in the Club. Big year for Sam 35/50 goals. Like any Dees fan will never forget that Elim Final and the super performance from all and Sam's bog. Breakout last few games in 2018.

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
MurDoc516 are you talking abiut Buckley? Can't say that with Goody as he was assistant in past at Dons and under Roosy. Melb were happy with him in that role. This sounds like the role Carlton have with Bolton. Believe if Goody is happy then go with it but a term gives some relativity to all Football Club decisions. ztjinkk 3/4 years would be fine to add as I expect us to contend until st least 2024/5 looking at list age group and potential A graders on our list st present. Goody is the right bloke with help to nurture and succeed with the talent at his disposal and not only get that elusive snd much waited for 23 th but perhaps a dynasty like Hawks or Cats.

Goodwin signs on until end of 2022
I would give 4 with option after 3 to resign early but happy with 5 also. Will lift that Cup one day and might be with Co Capts or ones solely on their own. Hope it is with both and am confident our group is still developing nicely with this year and the next half a decade or even longer in that cycle. Go Dees

Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon
That's the ethic that Goody and Coaches have concentrated on in since Roosy took over. All the recruits are win your own ball in traffic and Janes no exception. Think like Clarry as a bolter and prob the most speculative of the draft choices. Honest and plenty of upside who will improve around our Club culture. All our drafts will be competing against each other for recognition improvement and maybe one spot in our early season team. On that basis the highlight reels favour Tom Sparrow of the onballers who may be more advanced than Toby and Kade.

Welcome to Demonland: James Jordon
Not sure that Casey has really been n old Boys team plenty of recruits 19/21 year olds , but this 5 plus some Rookies will be interesting to see development like you said Jim.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM SPARROW
Competes like Jack Viney, runs like Hunty and kicks long like Clarry and doesn't handball!! as he gets clear or has enough power to get a good kick in oh and can intercept like Lever.Phyisique of Hibbo or Maynard. Great get and will be type to relish elite training standards plus competitive nature of our onballers
