- 2026 Player Numbers
Seriously I would rest 5 and 13 for 2026 out of respect to our recent decade long champs who deserve this respect for their role on us becoming a premiership team. There is no doubt we would not have won that flag without them. Lita treat our players once retired or traded with the Royalty they deserve. I will be interested to see what others think and childish salty and “ fed up” fans need not reply. Don’t waste your ungrateful breath. Thanks Trac and Clarry a decade of wonderful achievements and performances. Always welcome at the Dees as true greats.- Welcome to Demonland: Jack Steele

You are determined to cheapen this selection lorn. Why not look at the pluses ? 29 yrs still playing good footy at Saints but just been relegated in their pecking order by younger types like Darcy Wilson and Nas. Has been traded due to his experience to “ teach and mind” the kids. Harvey Duke Kolt and X plus any mid recruits. Would be a natural VCapt and Leadership Group member now that Trac Clarry Gus etc. are no longer on our books. Although he is not fast he still will be valuable as an inside midfielder just not when JV is in the middle though. Not sure what other positions he can pinch hit in but will be surprised if he is not a one trick pony. Time will tell. Actually wanted to come to Dees rather than try to stay at Saints at this stage of his career. With their recent recruitment that is a big plus. So he is a very solid citizen who I think has attained AA stays in the 20’s.- Welcome to Demonland: Picks 7 & 8
You didn’t correctly read his post previously. Said he would not take any WA kids to avoid heartache later.- Welcome to Demonland: Picks 7 & 8
Very bloody true Bubs- Letter from the CEO Post Draft
Thats what our new CEO can do write a letter to 57,000 members but make it as if it’s just to you. His ability to communicate through the mail and social media plus make it simple and meaningful is elite and already he is proving a very good choice as CEO. We know Paul’s history and CV in the business world so it is no surprise he is comfortable in communicating with our membership, Some of the D/Landers saying it is not necessary and didn’t tell us anything we didn’t know are churlish and salty and shouldn’t even be worthy of receiving mail from our recently acquired impressive leader of our administration. Stop whinging and get behind the Club as it fights to return to respectability and relevance in the toughest sporting competition in this land.- Bailey Humphrey
That was a Goody philosophy that has hounded us in selection and game style and put us back 2/3 years. We are trying to bridge that gap in fast pace and so knows some of our new selections plus our youngsters may still provide some Demom Spirit that makes thst happen. Every new player we get in tongue Club are like gold. They have no baggage. King is working overtime in moving on and it just may be the master stroke that turns our fortunes around. By golly if we could just snag BH tonight I honestly believe our prayers have been answered.- Farewell Christian Petracca
It can’t it’s for 5 years get used to it that’s why we have moved so steadfastly on this track It won’t go away.- Rumours
It could be worse it could be that grub Maynard !!!- Farewell Clayton Oliver
The very time when we need all the support for the bect season you are weak enough to pull the pin. Thanks for your support I hope we make the Finals and you miss out. I don’t accept that automatically we will struggle in 2026. We are not a 14 th side and can turn it around firstly by playing more aggressive footy and winning the close ones. Secondly our youngsters have to improve and existing older players reach form and confidence. I think Kings coaching could be quite a revelation. Let’s wait and see. Get your ticket to ride though it will be a great journey to see the outcome without the fickle ones!!!- Farewell Clayton Oliver
You gave no understanding of this financial arrangement. It will be $600,000 per the next 5 years to pay off at least half of his salary as he is on $1.2m per year. Sorry to advise you of this but it is a fact.- Welcome to Demonland: Changkuoth Jiath
And exactly what position is CJ going to play if not HB? Wing might also be his position but only either HB ( partly his Hawks best) or wing might be a good fit. He may not replace Howes or Salem or Bowser or AMW at HB but his mission must be to get the ball by hand or foot forward quickly and cause some chaos. We have tried slow chaos disastrously since 2022 so how about some speed from the centre with The Duke and CJ and the young onballers class. Some precision from Kossie Riv Culley and more disposal errors from JV and Sparrow. We need our mids to take advantage once and for all from the advantage of Maxy1 and new boy Maxy2 Heath who I am really bullish about. He will surprise up forward I predict bring a beast who can kick goals.- Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek
Really that is the most bizare prediction of a future forward line I have seen for a Club that would be going nowhere. It’s a look like Werridee on steroids would include once a new player came into the Club. Trying to justify being all players are in their correct roles so that is a valid line up is almost sickening. Then adding B ???? With Kolt and Lindsay and a tall player is even more crazy. A mix of from JVR Mihocek Heath Kentfield Fritta Langford Kossie McAdam Mentha Jnr and Chin plus Jeffo if he develops would cause the opposition to start really worrying. I don’t really care what “their best position or role” is just the mix makes it exciting to contemplate. Naturally the connectivity with the mids and defenders would have to improve for the team to benefit from greater scoring potential. Accuracy as well.- Bailey Humphrey
What are you whinging about Lasso. We are not privy to all of this by play and each trade has its own life expectancy. If you gave up every time a Club said NO initially you would never ever get that player. Chances are Melb want a player and if Humphrey is not keen himself the deal is off. If he is keen as he is indicating with recent evidence of some back to Victoria home issues and wanting to return then it alters the landscape immensely. In addition if BH is eventually counted out then Walters Read Rogers are possibilities for consideration. It backs up our trade package to have a player and pick as a desire for negotiations. Not just 2 picks. That’s in GC head now so becomes a less of an issue in talks required. The tan pictures were obviously a quick on the run chance of a meeting to set things going and it was sprung by some fluke photos. All is well may just end well if we are successful. Lasso that does not indicate we have had discussions with GC yet on options but merely an offer/ suggestion of where GC sit. Where have you seen as a result of discussions we have reacted.? I have not seen that possibility at all yet. You don’t appear to understand the posturing that has gone on. Also Demon Forever seems to be on the case. Instead of formulating your own critical description a read of DF before you doctoring might be more realistic.- Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
Well your out and out ruck for Heath is already wrong. See his marking highlights looks genuine forward pocket and ruck combo. Will say AJ maybe superfluous now after those highlights. Not sure on his status but must have some contract if being counted in lists etc.- Farewell Clayton Oliver
The position of Clarry is not the same as JUH old Dee. One is not able to play due to his mental and physical condition. Clarry will play at Melbourne or GWS ( or other) if he attains his clearance or he is demon. Bulldogs have all year adhered to the health procedures and have tried to very silently solve or salvage JUH for themselves. That has proved fruitless. If you are worried only that Clarry will not play footy in 2026 then relax that’s not going to happen. I happen to think MFC through our new Coach were a bit dictatorial in their approach as Clarry had already stated he was fine at the Dees in 2026. About a month previously.- Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
Not necessarily bad ideas but good to have a future follower to learn under Max and we may never know how JVR might suddenly find his groove and take some grabs and kick some goals also with Mihocek lurking and leading and scoring. Does JVR Heath Mihocek Fritta plus Kossie ( Humphrey) Langford Chin and Culley plus potentially Mentha improving provide some potential for greater totals. If we could kick 3 More goals each game we would be in the 8 and challenging.- Farewell Clayton Oliver
Your summarising as if it’s all totally Clarry’s fault we are down the ladder. You fail to give him credit of stabilising his off field happiness and lift in the last few matches in form and confidence. I thought this was a good base to build upon with a new and positive vibing Coach that made all the right statements re our list etc. then has dragged out his whip and decided otherwise without a decent meeting with a Club Champion to give him an opportunity to state his case. I am not against the restructuring of our midfield, 35% disposal from Trac Clarry and JV cannot continue to be tolerated but surely Clarry could kick 35/40/50 goals a year from a forward pocket or flank. And let’s be honest he would play 2 games at Casey be BOG and demand selection in the Seniors. Which position? Wouldn’t King be tempted if we were 3 goals down at half time to throw Clarry on the Ball?? Guess what we get up and win and Clarry is back with little changing! Back up to forward pocket as a decoy and kick gatherer near the sticks. Please tell me this isn’t an unreal prediction so he is not going to get any favors from our Footy chiefs and be sent to Siberia!! Our No 1 or top 3 player in 50 years has been treated poorly in some respects. He is hurt again and no wonder is looking to go to GWS to a soulless crowd and finish his career. Sad how he has been treated and we can’t even say good bye and thanks to him. Hopefully I haven’t ignored his last 2/3 years but we should and have tried to nurture him and support him as well. All the best Clarry you have set a benchmark in personal attitude to competitiveness on the field. I have never seen a player play the last quarters as hard as Clarry. Please give him some respect And not replace No 13 this season until worthy recipient arises. PS Maybe not Humphrey if we can snag him! Good luck Clarry a decade of determination classic inside mid play and handballs that talked. Only real fault was your kicking but it still passed when your best was on display in our top 4 years and important games and Finals. Keep healthy and happy and good luck for your future. Thanks again for the memories especially in 2021 and bang bang bang!!- Welcome to Demonland: Max Heath
IMO now that we have a young fit future ruckman to support Max and free up JVR plus perhaps kick a goal a game from the forward pocket aren’t one of Campbell or Johnson superfluous on our list? Can always get one in the mid year trade if it’s on next year. Casey has one also who I can’t think of. PS Please correct me if we have another ruck tall I have omitted.- Bailey Humphrey
Where what Bing has posted is all against our philosophies DD? Explain please.- Farewell Clayton Oliver
Agree with you Young Angus. Does seem unfair in just ignoring Clarry and not even giving himself a chance of staying his case. He had steady committed to the Dees for the season 2026, about a month ago. Much More than Trac who had Not spoken a word about his plans/ commitments for 2026. After all I M O along with GawnyJV Trac and Maysie all perhaps deserved a little latitude no matter how strong King wanted to start from. These players have been the very best of of the 21 st century all together but have one thing over ALL the Lyons Flower Stynes Schwartz and Neitz that they are Avery rare bree. The BEST that WON the very BEST. That is part of the 151 exclusive heroes we have in our 13 premiership teams. We have FOUR coaches and probably some other support staff as well. Is this the culture we want to display no matter how ruthless we want to be in resting and reshaping our next era for success? I am not sure. No doubt it will be the proof of the eating of the pudding ie how short or long it takes us to make Finals again and be a serious contender consistently. We all have a varied opinions or Expectations on that. As usual death by 10 years from the most pessimistic and negative D/L Anders plus others are convinced we are not as far away as two successive 14ths and are a mere bagatelle to rise and conquer the pretenders above us easily to threaten the heavyweights and flag winners. All will be revealed over the next pre season and 2026 year. As I said elsewhere I secretively don’t mind if Trac or Clarry are still on our list and take the chance that 2025 was like say 2020 the calm before the storm ie 2021 . It is interesting and totally unpredictable to ponder but let’s support the Club whatever happens. We cannot afford not to!!!- Farewell Judd McVee
Dont be so salty and judgemental yes disappointed. Think of our 13th flag and the many great games from the champs. Treat them as Melb royalty as they deserve our overwhelming thanks. Thanks guys if you go but secretly I don’t mind if you are about in 2026 and beyond again.- Farewell Christian Petracca
You are correct DD about moving on with say Derksen and Adams ( unfortunately no Judd) but half backs we will find or invent to assist current stocks. What I was was defending Young Angus against his very unfair and highly critical summary of May’s contribution and record since 2020. Without Stevie no Flag. I am not so sure about “young Angus” about how young he is but he may only still be 20 years and has forgotten the earlier years of our defence when it was a total brick wall led superbly by Jake and himself.- Bailey Humphrey
