  1. The trading part hasn’t. Still to come and recruiting.
  2. Langdon is a far better worker and contributor than both Tom and Chin. Simpkin is a a better player and could add to our mids more then Tom or Chin simply with more output which is aBout what Lingers provides on a regular basis.
  3. And how are we going to get that info and what matter of interest is it? It was a unanimous decision I believe from the Coaching Panel so it seems 1/7th was the value from each of the members. Happy ??? Ie One Vote each!! Talk about wanting irrelevant information and yes we won’t know except what has come out about Guerra’s question to Buckley and Brad Greens public announcement to the press and us members via an email. Both seem quite appropriate actions.
  4. Was Juddy at the B and F night? That might or might not be a clue to this going on. Also no news from our Exit interviews thst he had asked For a trade assuming contract discussions might have been on the agenda also.
  5. No one will miss you carrying on so unthinkably stupid as you are. This has been a well conducted process ( much quicker than We all thought) by a somewhat varied but independent group of people who have reached a very strong verdict as to who is the best candidate to take us forward. It’s no good going off your lollie about who was not available no matter why or how this happened. You would be whinging in 3 weeks time if we were going through trade and draft period without a coach having his say. So please stop feigning outrage and indignation. The overall result has been universally recognised and received as a progressive and astute decision based on Kings standing and record in the AFL over nearly 30 years. All the best in your next job sounds like the leader of one of the less successful parties in Australian politics in Vic or Nationally would suit you. Good luck El Supremo.
  6. Who was the 60 year ago ruck Cosch?
  7. Stupid irrelevant question unless you want to keep on harping about this every time we lose or fail. Get over it. All the coaches in the running had applied at least once for seniors AFL roles previously. Think Suns was one and possibly Eagles but he may have not put his hat into that ring. While I would have been quite happy for Bucks to have succeeded I think this decision is one where we will see a greater change within the Club in it’s approach and more importantly in game day planning. Chances were that Bucks game style IMO may not have been as modern as one if the very recent assistants. But he would have balanced that out with his undoubted knowledge and reputation in the recruiting area. Now for the Assistants!! BTW the approximate 25/30% who just said “ Don’t want Buckley” were typical MFC types with no reason being given. Not even a “ too ….” To add. ie the same who Don’t like prime time night games ( too late getting home) Don’t like Sunday 3.15 pm matches. ( too late for work or school on Monday) Want to clear ALL players ( or about 90%) after 2 seasons whether trade draft or any other method of recruiting) PS were you one of the [censored] who wanted Trac offered for sale before his breakout year in 2020? Yes you !! About 25% of D/L Anders were in that mould. We are the most impatient group of supporters around. Whilst I favoured strongly for Goody to be released ahead of his contract and to change our game plan to a more positive approach he still was a premiership Coach and there are only so many in the AFL. Many D/Landers will put King on Buckley watch if he coaches the Devils ( if he he fails with us) and it will be a Green legacy no doubt. ( Guerra and Smithy will escape as they have not had 12. Mths of leading the Club like Brad. ) They have about 2 or 3 years ( possibly) under the Demonland time scale. Brad has 1 or 2 or none years depending upon your opinion on his previous 12months in the Interim Chair. Incidentally he has 3 or 4 like the rest IMO to leave his mark! Good luck Kingy a Red ( and Blue ) letter Day for you and approx. 300,000 other Demon hopefuls ( rusted or not) as we start our journey from Blank or a clear pattern again. Get your tickets folks we don’t know what sort of a ride but don’t miss out. Or is it Too late, too cold, too wet, to many train/ bus interceptions, too little trying to win or just TOO LAZY to get your Demon spirit into gear, or are you going to sit on the fence with or without an opinion. Don’t too this or. Too that JUST DO !!! Please.
  8. You have looked at the wood and not the trees. It’s not this area of the membership that is the chief worry. It’s undoubtedly the normal rank and file Dees fans. The MCC can always join when they want but basically are a bonus to our total. Any Club that loses 10,000 members like we did vs GWS and Power late in 2024 to two games the first when we still mathematically had Finals chance should be worried how dedicated they are when the chips are down. our actual attendances at the G in 2025 with the 23,000 being the least ( admittedly early in the year but vs GWS and rainy and cold day) stood up reasonably. Only the near 17,000 at Marvel ( after the Saints debacle the round earlier ) was under 20,000. Many can point to the more family friendly Sat arvo and twilight fixtures and similar on Sundays as proof that The evening prime fixtures are not popular. Proof of our away negativity is patently obvious with not many Dees fans on the Blues and pies nights the Hawks not do much as CB it was a home game replacement game. The lowest Queens/Kings Birthday crowd of 77,000 only would be our numbers no doubt Esther than Pies. Anzac Eve held up but really plenty of Tigers away fans still attended. We are now back as second last as a Vic membership but still in the top 9 hanging on in front of many Clubs that would relish the G as a home base. We can only hope that with a new Coach that the football is more attractive plus our W and K ration improves and that we start by getting that not rusted on 10,000 fans straight back. All the boost from 2015 in the decade due to our success is eroded really with 2,years of Goody’s style and the failure to keep fair weather fragile “fans”Engaged.
  9. Reality GS. Perhaps perception is a 10/20% part but there is no doubt that if Clarry can continue on with his resurgence in 2026 we are a much harder team to beat. Trac’s second in the BandF is flattering for his season contribution ( based on previous standards since 2015) but a reality check on why we stayed in the bottom third of the ladder. Our recent number of very narrow losses ( GWS, Pies 2, Saints 2, Blues and Dogs) plus very near misses vs Crows and Power where we had more scoring opportunities and generally self inflicted results definitely indicates no basket case but as just indicated our youngster’s potential we should be able to launch a more aggressive and all in one approach next season under our new Coach hopefully Bucks but perhaps King or Kelly or even Lade or Giansiracusa. Perhaps Derksen Windhager Heath Culley plus Sinnema and White are not necessarily face changing but are all positives and realistic potential . If only the Jacko Dogga return was not a pipedream and a top 10 draft selection a chance it would be a very good list for the new Coach to lift and gain momentum especially to overcome our inability to seal close wins not losses and pathetic and continual forward line disasters. Roll on 2026.
  10. I guarantees of that depending upon him updating his style from zero and his worrying factor of game plan/ day limitation on imagination with his list. Sub is also a shocker but the AFL will change that to help him overcome anything there.
  11. Some obvious errors in your post Macca. comparing AJ and Jeffo at their stages of development is lazy. One is nearer his career end and struggles to put more than 3 games consecutively mainly due to a 1900’s style of football of bash and crash, resulting in MRO penalties. Jeffo is contracted next season and still deserves this coming season due to his age and skills development potential. To opt out now is not the right time. Also JVR should be tried in defence if he can’t succeed in early 2026. He is also contracted and needs a different development approach than what the Club have provided him so far. He is not far off and it is mainly little things that are stopping him from being a good player for us. Hopefully a new Coach and some other support staff can revitalise our current list along with some changes with other players more suitable to trade or delist.
  12. Really Playing on the gravel at Queenstown the same as the MCG SCG AO or Optus? Makes Casey look like Marvel Stadium!!
  13. Thank you Simon for all your toil your contribution and your commitment thst led finally to that one day in September and I will never forget it. Luckily I witnessed that fabulous game and our fantastic players gave 100% plus to ensure we have thst Cip in the cabinet. Unfortunately things have transpired since an we are parting ways. All the best and please know you are a Demon legend and hero for all time. all the best for your future and special thanks again for one of the best and greatest events in my 70 years plus lifetime. 14. That’s why the Board has decided to move now st…d!!
  15. O Titan The loss is relevant as any loss is. Last week and today are very relevant. Two wins would have bought confidence and patience from the supporters but no it hasn’t happened and collectively tha Coach es and the players have shown that they are not good enough and combiNing together. No one is concentrating on the job at hand and our Club is going to suffer if this continues. Goody should now resign gracefully or the club has to force the issue. To leave him in charge is suicide. In answer to Ghostwritertbat no one knows if any one could do any better Yhe point is that with the results and fact that only4/5 players have improved this season that gives an answer to why we are not listening to Goody any more and his voice has run its race with our group. Ghostwriter your knowledge of of players and people in the Club and association results in your defending some for the wrong reasons. Yes they are all people but Clubs have to move people on when their time is up. It’s a business and the nice and faint hearted don’t always win due to that. Keep flogging your banners but don’t use great blokes or nice people to not look at improving our Club clearly when it needs change. We must examine again our whole playing list and coach’s and support staff to make our results better and get back some team spirit that clearly today was missing with the coa Ching and playing allowing this result. Firstly I would change our Coach some assistants and now believe thst a captaincy change would be ideal to start 2026. The FD also could be changed as well. And thank them all for their hard work and the flag but we must move on that ship has sailed and is aground and sinking slowly into the abyss. We are becoming irrelevant again.
  16. Isn’t there a case for giving extra time on some occasions if you are not at the top of your game to see if you can find some form. Not necessarily risking the result of course.
  17. The evidence is there. No smoking guns. Stephen Smith and Paul Guerra will be leaders at the end of the season. Do you really think the players when they line up for a goal are thinking about this?? To be honest I don’t know what our forwards and on ballers go think? It’s not conducive to our effort as evidenced again in 2025. I to jink it’s mainly mental but some players may just be shizen [censored] for goal and should be moved on if no shrink can help. Fritta still has some gremlins and isn’t as good as 2/3 years ago with his accuracy. But many miss far to often the simple shots and we need to revise where our forwards lead to solve this problem.
  18. Another Melb great hampered by injury. But he is the most astute and knowledgeable player in our list of greats in the modern era. Carried this into his captaincy. Congrats on Hall of Fame but he really hit the mark in Perth being able to hand the Cup to Maxy. The world’s way of giving him some premiership touches. So enjoyable now in the media especially on AFL 360 with his hard hitting commentary wisdom. PS Also so happy about his domestic life and the ridiculous outcry when it changed dramatically. Some people forget it takes TWO to Tango!!

No it doesn’t matter what the team Casey plays it is for reorientation of form and confidence not to avoid playing champs or worrying how it might affect them. Goody has some traits that he has not learned from over his time and his stubbornness never ceases to amaze me. Not only is he slow to understand things like this, the sub rule plus making moves that enable the move to be a success with enough time. We trailed all day yesterday and to wait to give Laurie a go till 3.4 time was not great timing. Should have been at least halfway through third quarter IMO. I know we had the opportunities all the time but it was not succeeding and better to have tried and lost than tried too late. Not all moves succeed but you need to give them some time to be the magic you hope. Our Subs are made to feel unwanted and very much unloved IMO and JJ Bedford Sharp now and the ridiculous one Langford are all examples. Worst of course was the Semi vs Carlton!! I am liking the changes however in our plan and the emphasis on more speed and team play plus handball and other team changes and opportunities that have worked. We are actually a work in progress really but yesterday was very disappointing and very disturbing regarding our ability to solve problems on the run. We had all day and threatened but our skills failed us again under pressure. We need a real examination of why this happens. Is it ability or are some habits going to die too old for us to change? Some Saints that played well were some that I feel we didn’t know much about or like Butler who once I saw his name thought he was a danger. Why would Salem or Bowey not be able to to defend or watch him if assigned to? His four goals are really the difference plus Keeler and Halls goals. We could not produce goals from anyone really both old and new failed to hit the scoreboard for reasons that when we lose are far too consistent and alarming. Same Same is insanity and some how needs to change in our DNA or it will go on haunting this new group like the last 3 years have produced. I hope that I am not overreacting but alarm bells ring after yesterday that old habits are very hard to eradicate and a new age is not yet in place. Goody has said this but these are learnings and we are not that good at that perhaps. Let’s see what happens next Monday as we need this game for 4 points because we surrendered to a lesser team those yesterday.

Why ? It’s clear a KPF is still a greater game changer.
  21. Tmac not being considered for forward position. Safety with his game with less coordination in his older legs etc.
  22. Attitude fine this week was reported but form only ok. Need not be so harsh to prove a point. Not great to overcriticise a youngster who does wear his heart on his sleeve, to be honest.
  23. Further to my JV for Spargs change which is a no brainer as long as JV is totally over any symptoms of the dreaded C. Equally the FOR or AGST opinions to drop or retain AJ. Surely any MFC fan could not seriously retain AJ solely on his form and impact over his 4 matches and disregard JV’s total decade more of much of the same attack on the ball PLUS goals, tackles ferocity and nous gained in his seriously valuable multi seasons experience and his enormous competitive instincts. One of our best on ballers we’d Jo yes is not the greatest disposer but really he offers a package far greater to our footy than AJ at present can promise or muster. Only response is that another tall could/should be chosen instead with a far greater potential CV for the job on our forward line, naturally playing up to time form or potential. Just trying to get the AJ freaks a perspective on what we really need at the pointy end of our game plan. We cannot survive on Spargs plus AJ ‘S total output long term if we wish to keep the scoreboard ticking over under all big matches now or later in the year. Going well but needs a reality check NOW or SOONER rather than LATER in the journey in 2025.
  24. That IMO is not real agony it’s him taking in the meaning if his goal and the possible potential of any sporting physical affection being misplaced. All’s well that ends well hugs crushes maybe but Clarry escapes to a moment that he will never forget. The whole MCC plus Demon members area standing in total common support clapping and cheering for him. Totally a response for the ages as all our summer and pre season challenges are washed away further evidenced by the team song with Trac’s Dad in the circle with Goody. Now will the media please back off and reconsider and recognise the moving on, the grieving and the experience has provided some lessons but really none that should or appear To be a breaker at trade time. It is a grand old flag and its heart is beating true to whatever is in store for the next half of the season notably 12 rounds which we could win anything from say half a dozen or double figures to cement a Finals berth. Go Dees ❤️💙🏆
