Agree HD it’s AMW time!!

CASEY: RD 13 vs North Melbourne VFL
That’s because for all the reasons so many say AMW does not deserve a place because he does this this and this wrong at half back it is easier to learn a HB role than HF. Surely he has the instincts of a HF also so give him a go where we badly need some oomph and goals. Some D/Lers want only ready made products to get a guernsey. We can’t wait nor should we as we will lose players if they are not debuted after some time. AMW has had a good block of games where he has Been easily the most possessions gained and deserves a shot. Chin is not playing well so Bowey could be given a HF chance and AMW debut at HB. We have got to be creative as clearly our 23 at the moment is well down on the strength needed for a Top4 spot. Too many players are below their best and the team aspect is very much needed if we are to succeed.

Every one of those possibly you have chosen are not given away or not had reasonably successful or good AFL careers. They appear past their best at the age we have recruited them. Grundy and Gawn are No 1 rucks Yes he is a good / very good ruck but not the great that Maxy is. Perhaps we should have been more patient but Maxy is only a No 1,ruck and Brody hasn’t the strings and bows to play second fiddle. Jordon is being managed better and that issue is consistent with Bedford who is like Woe and Laurie both the same in/ out /sub category which is wearing on such players careers etc. Harmes was a tagger so that also affected Jordon. He lost confidence and also faith I think. Goody is nothing but consistent with his ideas which don’t help players at times. Jacko is an unfortunate loss but like Craig Thompson to SA but all Clubs have to handle this in the AFL environment. You are correct up to a point but I also think that the VFL players replacing them are also a season away from their breakout to AFL. Some may still have to learn on the run if we don’t trade productively for next season.

A new dawn for the Demons - our 2025 squad
A good forward line should be made up of different players. If Fritta is used by you only for drafting who are you looking forward replacement. To virtually throw the baby out with the bath water when he is thrr ER bleats of our problems. Is he supposed to kick 3 or 4 goals per week? An average of 2 or 2.5 is healthy and he rarely does not score. Did Tunbridge or Vagg ever get dropped for lack of physicality? No because the side played its part. Tweaks can be made but it’s like saying we lose Trac and or Maxy because of their poor goal kicking at times. Look at the goals not the tackles. That's the smaller types plus the crash and bash of JVR and Jeffo and possibly Kenterfield to contribute. Mss as the s bit of jumping into packs on opposition backs occasionally is allowed trying to mark of course.

No need to list Angus in that category. Delisted or retired would cover the two categorises quite nicely I believe.

Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
Agreed Similar to JV playing in the past when shouldn’t have. Also remember the Practice match Joel Smith was returned and the consequences. Why has Chin not been rested or dropped? We need goals from our forwards as we acknowledge with Spargs fall from grace which brings up another injury anomaly. Why play on O Round and no Casey fitness g as me? Also Disco is in danger of being ruined for the same reason Much as I like his cameo up forward he really with Lever should have been a like for like. Isn’t that what he has trained and developed for 3?years??? Cameos forward during games are fine generally from much more mature and proven players to assist the team on the day.

Christian Petracca’s 2024 Season Ending Injuries
My Mind immediately thought of the Cox deliberate act of the same magnitude. Trouble is it’s not illegal but it’s deliberate or careless and at times no duty of care.

I think it’s time to acknowledge that our troubles start from the centre of the ground at the bounce. Despite the AAA flavour of Gawn Viney Trac and Clarry we have been consistently losing clearances and ball retention there. I am staggered and amazed that the combined brains of this group of players are so bereft of footy smarts and knowledge that this has gone on for so long. Now who is the ruck and midfield coaches? Again the name Stafford rears its head. Not certain who has filled in for Ooze this year Is it Mini? Nevertheless Stafford again is in the frame for responsibility it would seem. It really looks like the bloke is a one trick pony. We have struggled with him as forward coach and now the midfield is blatantly underperforming for the team. Again no connection really for domination by our mids from our rucks. Yet Maxy has had a stellar AAA year but all the others have to be honest been patchy with Trac needing to be forward due to that other Stafford disaster for 3 years our forward line. Ultimate responsibility is of course is with Goody and another PlanA but no Plan B or C in the kitbag. 2021 is no longer relevant other than for our history and proud drought breaking performance over 25 weeks. And the associated lift in respect and Club fixturing and marketing and yes culture improvement. The undeniable is unfortunately that since that Entrecôte affair in June 2022 nothing elite has been done in results and our Club while not as much as the press would have it have struggled to be in a positive frame of mind consistently over this period. Amazingly the downfall has occurred after one of our best wins in our four years over the Cats even if their form has also disintegrated badly at the rate of knots. Neither us nor them look overly like causing huge damage in 2024 even if we limp ( or smash) our way into the 8 or unlikely top4. Even a year like this very even one is slipping away and our % is a disaster. How we approach this last half is much up to the Coaches and FD. But we have been making simple things complicated it seems and mixed messaging plus general unwanted tension in our team makes for an unhealthy existence. In 1987 1998 and 2000 we overcame poor form mid season but in 1965 and 1971 the die was cast and we performed without any spirit or confidence to miss Finals easily. Goody and Co now have to really earn their keep to save this year being wasted . It may also prove that our list and also our depth has been vastly overrated. Without Trac this is a great test for many of our lesser lights and also our leaders plus our ability to resolve and perhaps revive our strong brand with updated tweaks in a different time of the code. What would RDB or Norm Smith do to stop the rot.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Read my article, stand by it while all you say is he must reach xxx kg before we pick him. That’s not and never has worked. When he shows enough ability to deserve an AFL opportunity he will deserve it. He will be coping with heavier opponents but his skill marking and placement away from a key post will give him a chance.

Dazzle hasn’t read my post properly. Said he would be on a Third defender. Most others misread it as well.

Why the Demons can rise above off-field drama in 2024
Boy some people are quick to throw stones out of the Glasshouse . Give it 5 years to test for some one like DGoey Sticks and Stones with him, it’s only Names with Clarko. TT different of course. By the time you go back a decade at least and your ego driven Ex Pres with his issues plus Maynard’s thuggery you aren’t exactly out of the “woods “ just yet. Still doesn’t alter the fact that your fans are 75% feral so don’t go shouting out this soon.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Was b not over then you are incorrect in that statement. as one of our better informed D/L has posted the new evidence bought forward just before the season starting was the major blow with a review that also found that he should place his health as a priority. if you knew this then you should be running the country and coaching is at the same time sir.

POSTGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
Seems a fair comment and yes it’s weird one. is it Clarry? fitness issues selection of players through form or fitness.? Our players look out of sorts at the moment, Any thing else going on? Are any of our good insiders got any mail what’s going on if so please allude or hint if possible.? This result in a game has been coming since the Brisbane flop. Maybe WCW knows something ? Anyone got any goss? please tell or maybe thoughts?

Harrison Petty
It’s killing a team of potential and spark. You don’t score you don’t appear fun to watch. Too much preservation over 5 years has worn us down and no confidence to attack for fear of failure.

Welcome to Demonland Matthew Jefferson
Many said this against Windsor ( and Robbie Flower). Yes physical development is necessary but not the only requirement for AF L selection. Jeffo has already commenced that this summer and put on about 6 kg. What he needed to do was start going in and flying for the ball plus following up on second and third efforts. He is doing that now and many here are lauding him for it also eating large doses of humble pie. The facts are if he plays another 5/6 games and converts etc. the surely he can be tried as say at half forward or even as a KP third tall to say Petty/ Disco L and JVR with Fritta as mid plus smalls around those 4. There is no log book saying like in races max. Or min. Weight. Ability and good timing in a career for both Club and player should not take a backward step if it won’t harm him in the long run. ( This up to the Club to not do another Jack Watts, of course and we have learnt that lesson the hard way. ) Who would you like in Round 17/18 say to debut? Jeffo Kentfield Fullarton as our third tall if necessary? I lean to Jeffo if Luker does not hit the ground running T Casey or Fullarton has kicked goals galore there also.
