10 contested marks!!! He would be the next coming of Wayne Carey if that were true.

Dean Kent is playing a very good stretch of footy at the moment.

Tom McDonald was very good again, but as usual, a couple of critical turnovers (bad turnovers, not 50/50 turnovers) cost us dearly. Business as usual. His best and worst are so far apart it isn't funny. And not just week to week, but within games also.
-
Absolutely. One in particular, he scooped/slapped it 15 metres over the line. He did another couple as well, and all were within a kick or two from our goal. Our players really should have kicked up a stink like they did.

I hate blaming umpires, but.... Shannon Hurn could have sunk one into row Z, but as soon as we barely touch one and it trickles over the line it gets pinged. Absolutely ropable. I know, I know, we should have put the game away, but some of those decisions in the last were dumbfounding.

Some of the posts are over reactions, but there is no disputing the main point. We lack leg speed and we can't defend against fast spreading teams.
-
I've been a Grimes defender, but it was clear that as soon as the pressure went up, he was not up to it. White much the same, although maybe is allowed a chance to adjust.
-
Concerned by Brayshaw's lack of awareness. Not just the times he was caught with it, but also dodgey handballs to teammates directly under the pump.

The ease with which St Kilda move the ball against us and beat us is genuinely embarrassing.

Making way - The list enigma going forward

I was rightly put in my place re Garland's contract situation, but all of the others are definitely in danger. Another interesting one will be Trenners. -
Could be a good cheap option for a mature(ish) ruck backup. We are listed in the article as being on the lookout for ruck depth, so it isn't a crazy thought we could land someone like Nankervis.

A month ago I thought Hawthorn were off the pace and snuck home in a few lucky ones. Right now, they look a head better than anyone else. Combine that with their finals experience and we are all doomed this year unfortunately.

Is that fact that Goodwin overruled on Melksham? Or just assuming because of the obvious Essendon link? Genuine question.

Surely Hunt Deserves a Rising Star Nomination

Watched Open Mike with the Rocca boys. Bloody hell, couldn't they roost it. Imagine if Hogan had a 60m bomb in his bag. Unfortunately he doesn't, but obviously brings plenty of other attributes. -
Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?

Not interested in Mayne. He has been pretty ordinary for the last couple of years, and I would rather put time into our younger forwards. -
Geez, hard to please bunch in here. It was an excellent return and gets a well deserved 100th next week. He has the chance to cement a spot in the side for the rest of the year, and that would likely lead to a contract extension. I, for one, will be in his corner hoping he can get it done.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL WHITE
Forest Demon replied to The Red Fox's topic in Melbourne Demons
I like the look of him. At least one of he or Wagner will become a solid 100-150 gamer. -
I wanted him to stay another year. But with Hunt and Wagner getting opportunities and doing well, it was definitely the right choice.
-
Just can't sign contracts, but no problems with talking or even touring facilities, legally at least. Geelong flew over the coach and half the leadership group mid-season to tune Travis Boak a few years back.
-
I thought he was ok in his first game back this season, and I thought he might work into some decent form for the rest of the year, but he has only gone backwards since. He was diabolical yesterday. Finals are out of the question, Dawes is struggling, while Hulett and Weidemann are performing well in the reserves. I can't see anything to lose from giving them both a handful of games each for the rest of year. And if they aren't deemed ready, then get Pedo back in there.
-
I actually forgot that one until you mentioned it, probably only because there was so many similar stuff ups. That was a crucial simple mistake, and they happened far too frequently today.
-
I am honestly surprised he had that many. I rarely noticed him. As I said, I like him, and I just feel he is still working his way back from injury, whether that is in the 1's or 2's.
-
VandenBerg is one of my favourites, but he needs a spell in the 2's. Dawes was nothing short of woeful.
