Luke Beveridge seems like a good coach and they are certainly playing for him, but I really can't stand him. His comments on the Essendon saga were absolutely baffling, and his comments about Adelaide last week were pretty ordinary as well.

Demonland Player of the Year - Round 8
Forest Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 - Jetta 5 - Tyson 4 - Viney 3 - Kennedy 2 - Stretch 1 - ummmmmmmm, TMac? -
I was genuinely shocked by the number of throws they got away with. I don't want to descend into sledging the umps, because the doggies were quite clearly the better side, but it was incredibly frustrating. And then Hunter twice, and McLean once, got frees from ducking and lifting the arm, although all were in the act if going down and collecting the ball.
-
First half he was nowhere. His dropped mark was terrible, and has become a bit of a pattern. But then he worked his way into it. It was a weird game by Jack.
-
How recent was that?

All in all, it was a good showcase of where we need to get to, without embarrassing ourselves like we might have in the past. If that makes sense.
-
We were so sloppy, whereas they are just clinical and composed with the ball in tight, and clear it to a running player with relative ease. Our team defence was exposed again early. Half personell, half game plan, but whatever it is, it needs to be tweaked.

And, as expected, the correct answer was... d) nobody

In saying that, if Dunn isn't a better option than Garland, then I will eat my hat. It's just so obvious.
-
It is actually a glaring error. We are far better stocked at KPF than KPD, but for whatever reason we tried to turn Frost into a forward. It seems they have little faith in both Dunn and Garland, so it seems strange they experiment with Frost up forward while those two get dropped for each other every second week.

They are a gun team, so clean, much more so than us. Last thing they need is a free ride from the umps every week.

Hogan's kicking is now an issue

Absolutely

Jetta has been immense. Our best defender. And I actually feel more comfortable when I see it is him on Redpath, rather than Garland.
-
Another uncontested mark inside 50. Has to be fixed.
-
Our defence is broken. Not the personell so much, but the plan. We zone and push up to the ball carrier and just leave opposition forwards open in their forward 50. We are too easy to score against. It is covered against rubbish sides, but the dogs and saints have shown this. I know we are still learning it but it needs a tweak ASAP.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8
Forest Demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
ANB stuck something like 14 tackles last week, and always has high tackle numbers to go with his possessions and goals. He must be frustrated and he has every right, there is nothing else he could have done. -
No brainer to keep him going for another year. When he was injured at the start of the year, I was petrified of Gawn going down. It would have meant playing an 18 year old King or just going in with no ruckman, both of which would have been disastrous. Obviously he is no Gawn, but hey, not many are.

Out for another 2 to 3 weeks according to reports through the week. Was left out of the team due to "soreness" and now looks like missing at least 5 or 6 weeks.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8

If we beat the doggies this week, I would consider finals for the first time this season. In saying that, they are a good side and I think they will be too quick, much like St Kilda were a fortnight ago. -
I am a fan of Mitch White, but that one did make me do a double take.
-
Didn't realise just how quickly we piled it on in the 3rd quarter. That was an enjoyable 11 minutes.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN KENNEDY
Forest Demon replied to MadAsHell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I only watched 5 minutes of that game and saw a classic Howe kick to grass coming out of defence which put his teammate under immense unnecessary pressure.
