  1. He meant they had 3 talls so he knew he was in for a big day work wise, rather than he knew he was going to have a field day. But yeah, he had a field day.
  2. No public holiday up here in good ol Queensland, so I have had to take a day of annual leave. Hopefully it was the correct call.
  3. Stephen Milne for me
  4. And it is a massive problem. They are holding the EPL hostage, and won't let people access it unless you buy other, unrelated services from them. It is ridiculous. What do people do if they are on existing plans with other providers? What happens if other codes and competitions strike similar deals with other providers? As I said, it is setting a dangerous precedent.
  5. Don't get me started on Optus and the EPL. Setting a dangerous precedent if this is the way sport is going.
  6. Maybe because he is one of my favourites, but at the time I thought he just misjudged the floating kick more than anything. But as was mentioned above, regardless of this incident, he had no impact whatsoever, and hasn't for a few games in a row now. Needs a big one on Monday.
  7. I actually noticed this as well a few times on the weekend. Limp open handed spoiling attempts that big forwards just power straight through. Needs to hit those marking contests harder and kill the ball more effectively.
  8. I would say it is just about Kent and Harmes' most important role to apply pressure inside 50. Garlett as well considering he couldn't get his hands on the footy. When they went forward, their forwards played in front and seemed to have a number of players in the vicinity. Whereas in our forward line, we were always caught behind and always seemed outnumbered.
  9. Comparing Stevue J's goal to Aker's. I have lived in Brisbane for 10 years so I am fully aware of what a [censored] he is, but geez, what a player.
  10. I actually apologised to the Mrs and kids today for the my anger at both the umpires and commentators. They both frustrated me in equal doses.
  11. I agree. It was a slog today and that suited him. He still looked a little slow in everything he did. Time will tell whether that is just match fitness and conditions or is actually his limit, but I feel he would have struggled on a dry deck. I don't want people to take this as a sledge on him, I am still positive, just would have loved to see a little more zip. Hopefully that comes as he gets back up to speed. All in all, it was great to see him back.
  12. Obviously, Tom stays, but the number of times he let the ball past him today in the wet was extremely frustrating. Watch a player like Jetta, always keeps the ball in front of him.
  13. I think Jones was good. Too often we scrubbed the ball forward, which is good wet weather footy, but our forwards were either out of position or caught behind.
  14. Apologies, I had a Basil and got the names wrong, I meant Mitchell and Lewis. Those two in particular looked to take extra long to get up from each knock today.
  15. I don't know about anybody else, but I absolutely lost my [censored] when that [censored] #40 got that free right in front for an absolutely blatant duck, scores level 5 minutes into the last quarter.
  16. To be fair, Garlett has been poor for a month, or whenever it was he missed that game or two with an ankle injury. Agreed on Hunt. His kicking looks a little rushed, like he is still going at full tilt, but other than that, he is a player.
  17. I thought he got his hands on it and scrubbed it forward well. Still wasn't convincing defensively. And one horror moment when he should have let the ball dribble through for a behind. Overall, he was ok.
  18. I like Frost down back, but I can recall at least 3 times where he tried to be too cute and directly turned it over.
  19. This was quite notable. To the point where it can't have been luck, but rather forwards smartly playing in front.
  20. That was frustrating. A really good opportunity to knock them off. If Harmes shot in the last doesn't hit the post, I think we might have won that. We battered them around the ball.
  21. On the Dawes debate, I think his first half was good. He was at a lot of contests, halved most and clunked a couple. He faded in the second a little, probably to be expected.
  22. Usually the channel 7 team don't bother me, but today was painful. Basil is either an idiot or one of the great trolls, calling Trenners "Jackson" at the start of the call. I suspect the former. Dead set, it's not that hard to get names right, and it is literally your job.
  23. Rule #1 in wet weather footy is keep the ball in front of you. Tommy Mac has let the ball run through his legs or past him on too many occasions.
  24. I am in the same boat. Players like Lewis and Hodge are looking old and weary every time we smash into them. No doubt they will get a rocket though, and the result will depend a lot on how they respond.
  25. Tyson is a good wet weather player, except that late HTB. Dawes has been important today.
