  1. I seem to recall his endurance was considered his big strength when he was drafted. Also, I don't think it is simple as saying he wasn't getting a game in a side outside the 8. He wasn't getting a game behind a quality collection of inside mids, it is our main strength, and other clubs would be aware of this. I would say he would stay if their offer is anything less than a second rounder.
  2. As Damien Barrett said about us, it seems completely scattergun. Seems like they hear a name bought up and just go for it.
  3. Not interested in trading Salem at all. His worth would probably be outside the first round due to the lack of continuity in his career so far, and he has already shown he will be a very good player if he stays on the park.
  4. He had a decent year, except for the last month. Goal kicking was notably worse than last year.
  5. They were favourites for the spoon last season, premiers 18 months later. Hopefully makes the footy world, and Melbourne in particular, realise it doesn't take the better part of a decade to rebuild a quality side.
  6. Definitely thread worthy. Nobody tried harder than Jack to lift the club out of our massive hole, often to his own detriment such as taking on the captaincy. Ultimately he fell short, but I would love to see him get another chance with another club. Hopefully even a game at the G against the Dees, where he could get a nice round of applause ala James McDonald.
  7. I was listening and must admit, I didn't even think twice about the comment. Didnt seem to me like he had any inside info, but who knows.
  8. Best of luck to the 3 of them. Grimes will get a shot somewhere you would think. Matt Jones had a decent first half to the season, but tailed off a little, and that probably cost him.
  9. He always seems to play well whenever I watch him. I would definitely like to slot him in our side if possible within reason.
  10. I believe he still plays for Redlands, who are in the NEAFL. So a decent-ish standard.
  11. Is he more of a chance of making it than someone taken late in the draft? My guess would be that he is, and he fits a big hole in our team. Worth a punt at a very low cost, as opposed to other clubs potentially gambling a couple of first rounders on Jaeger O'Meara's wonky knees.
  12. That was bloody good to watch. Plenty of heat in this one early.
  13. Hawks have to beat Doggies at the G, and then travel to Sydney to play the Swans or GWS, just to make the granny. They are in strife.
  14. Bittersweet. As soon I grin that Hawthorn lost, I quickly remember Geelong are through to a prelim. Any of the Sydney, GWS, Doggies or Adelaide will do me.
  15. Hope Fitzy goes well, but Frawley gets a bag kicked on him.
  16. Rhino was brutal. He could start an argument out of anything. I have definitely noticed there are a few posters whose opinions generally align with mine, and when I see their avatar, I always stop and read. P-Man probably being one. I think Saty will go down as one of most, if not the most, notorious posters of all time.
  17. With North's window completely closed (not that it was ever really open), and Brad Scott shafting 4 of his mates, maybe he would be keen to jump ship. A free hit in terms of not having to trade draft picks, but will obviously take a fair bit of cap space for a year or two. The exact sort of player we need, and if we think we could get 3 years out of him, then I would go for it. But obviously 3 years is a big ask given his injury history.
  18. To be fair to Adelaide, they have perhaps lost more players than anyone. They are doing remarkably well.
  19. Played in the guts for the first time I can recall, and was probably our best. We are crying out for good ball users in the middle, so leave him there. It's where he is most natural and most needed.
  20. I still think that the club should give something to the Supporters Player of the Year at the B&F, whether that be from Demonland or something more official from official members. I have said it before, but in English football, it is actually a reasonably important accolade. If I was player, I would take great pride that the fans think that much of me.
  21. He seemed to be one of those players who got dropped as soon as he went off the boil even a little. For me, he is clearly our best option for the tall forward / second ruck role. If I was in charge, I would trade or delist Dawes, and give Pedersen another year, and make the youngsters overtake him to get a game.
  22. Salem, Vanders, 2x McDonald and maybe Hunt were passable today. The rest were pitiful. I know TMac had a few kicked on him but the ball was coming in with such ease and I think he battled manfully and created a bit of drive in the other direction.
  23. Very disappointing. The first, and only, real thumping we have copped all year.
  24. I agree Pedersen would have been a better option today, but a) we obviously still have half an eye on next year and b) this game was lost in the middle of the park
  25. Our guns are still young. I think we are in position to front load a couple of 24 to 28 year old's contracts and make it work.
