Farewell Brodie Grundy
I’d think the best we could hope for is currently Pick 22, which Hawthorn traded to Sydney. We wouldn’t be paying any salary, whilst Collingwood would still be making their contribution. The upside is that an additional second round pick may be more enticing to Gold Coast looking to load up on picks for their academy lads.

The Steven May appreciation thread
And incredible game by an incredible player. Absolutely dominant and inspiring (again). He’ll be 32 at the start of next season, so we’ll need to make the absolute most of his remaining time with us. Also need to identify his successor to work closely under him. With Petty now seemingly earmarked as a key forward, that successor is worryingly unclear.

Maynard must get at least four weeks
There may be a few ‘smothers’ handed out in the first quarter of the prelim. If I was coaching I’d advise players to ‘smother’ the Daicos boys early in the game. A football act…

Any word on Angus?

I thought we offered him a three year contract but the offer and role at GWS was more appealing.- Injury Cloud over Max & Clarry
On Footy Classified last night they said it was broken and some time ago and was being ‘managed’.- Stuff drafting a kid, poach a key forward.
I agree with the concept but West Coast would not give up Oscar Allen for any picks we could throw at them. He’s their best player and they’ll mould their whole rebuild around him. My frustration with our forward line is our inability to bring the ball to ground. Our keys try to mark when they should spoil and bring our smalls into it. TMac was not fast or agile enough to make position and was too easily outmanoeuvred by Moore in the air. Even just a big-bodied role player like McStay would have been invaluable last night.- Farewell Luke Jackson
It’s amazing that geniuses at Fremantle were able to see the potential in a Pick 3, Rising Star winning Premiership player.- Bayley Fritsch Sent for Scans
Possibly irritation from the screws and plate.- Christian Petracca and Jack Viney named in All Australian squad
Petracca is a lock and it’s good to see Viney get some recognition. May could consider himself a little stiff to miss the squad but wouldn’t be a realistic chance for the team.- PREGAME: QF vs Collingwood

I know it comes up every year… but… how does he still have a job?!- Random Demon’s Players from the 2000s
15/15 Im pretty good with obscure ones and probably would have stuffed up David Neitz if he was there.- 2023 22Under22
Really not sure what the point of the team is. It’s a public vote, so isn’t a real reflection of a players ability…. Surely the AFL Players Association can put together something a little bit more meaningful.- My 3 word player analysis V Hawthorn
Some good takes. Thought Laurie showed some great footy smarts. He and Spargo fighting it out for the forward flank role. Tomlinson with 12 disposals and 6 marks in 3 quarters was decent as well. Was always going to be subbed out to swing smith back and bring Schache on.- NON-MFC: Rd 23 2023
I’m not you can compare our ‘shafting’ to theirs. Theirs was a clear goal that would have been confirmed by ARC if the umpires had referred it to them. They now are out of the finals. Ours was possibly a goal, but ultimately inconclusive. No once could say there was clear daylight between Marchbank and the ball. It was discussed in great depth across the football media and the general consensus was the technology needed to be improved. In Adelaide, the technology was not used at all.- NON-MFC: Rd 23 2023
Is it right to criticise the ARC for this one? The umpire didn’t send it for review. 100% on the goal umpire.- 2023 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
The concern is that the AFL 'formula' and the particulars of an individual's contract are not made public. The league does not disclose the specific reasons for why they award a particular band of compensation. If it were purely mathematical and transparent, then there would be no need for clubs to lobby the league like Rawlings is.- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
Really do appreciate the updates from everyone but I am so confused about what’s going on!- CASEY: Rd 21 vs Carlton VFL
A change needs to be made next week in our forward line; Schache or TMac needs to come in. It may be too big an ask for McDonald to play seniors after such a long break, but if one of them can stand up today, they simply must get a run next week to give them team some continuity leading into finals.- POSTGAME: Rd 22 vs Carlton

Would have missed Howes as well (who I have some high hopes for). Would have been a huge investment to match Pick 5 for a 'project player'. - Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
