  1. I agree with the concept but West Coast would not give up Oscar Allen for any picks we could throw at them. He’s their best player and they’ll mould their whole rebuild around him. My frustration with our forward line is our inability to bring the ball to ground. Our keys try to mark when they should spoil and bring our smalls into it. TMac was not fast or agile enough to make position and was too easily outmanoeuvred by Moore in the air. Even just a big-bodied role player like McStay would have been invaluable last night.
  2. It’s amazing that geniuses at Fremantle were able to see the potential in a Pick 3, Rising Star winning Premiership player.
  3. Possibly irritation from the screws and plate.
  4. Petracca is a lock and it’s good to see Viney get some recognition. May could consider himself a little stiff to miss the squad but wouldn’t be a realistic chance for the team.
  5. Other than the colour of your shorts, are there any advantages to the ‘home’ team when it’s a home ground to both of them..? Do Collingwood get a higher ticketing allowance?
  6. I’ve never done my ACL, but I have torn the meniscus in my knee and, for what it’s worth, it looked exactly like what Melksham did.
  7. I know it comes up every year… but… how does he still have a job?!
  8. 15/15 Im pretty good with obscure ones and probably would have stuffed up David Neitz if he was there.

Really not sure what the point of the team is. It’s a public vote, so isn’t a real reflection of a players ability…. Surely the AFL Players Association can put together something a little bit more meaningful.
  10. Some good takes. Thought Laurie showed some great footy smarts. He and Spargo fighting it out for the forward flank role. Tomlinson with 12 disposals and 6 marks in 3 quarters was decent as well. Was always going to be subbed out to swing smith back and bring Schache on.
  11. I’m not you can compare our ‘shafting’ to theirs. Theirs was a clear goal that would have been confirmed by ARC if the umpires had referred it to them. They now are out of the finals. Ours was possibly a goal, but ultimately inconclusive. No once could say there was clear daylight between Marchbank and the ball. It was discussed in great depth across the football media and the general consensus was the technology needed to be improved. In Adelaide, the technology was not used at all.
  12. Is it right to criticise the ARC for this one? The umpire didn’t send it for review. 100% on the goal umpire.
  13. The concern is that the AFL 'formula' and the particulars of an individual's contract are not made public. The league does not disclose the specific reasons for why they award a particular band of compensation. If it were purely mathematical and transparent, then there would be no need for clubs to lobby the league like Rawlings is.
  14. Really do appreciate the updates from everyone but I am so confused about what’s going on!
  15. A change needs to be made next week in our forward line; Schache or TMac needs to come in. It may be too big an ask for McDonald to play seniors after such a long break, but if one of them can stand up today, they simply must get a run next week to give them team some continuity leading into finals.
  16. Felling a little flat this morning but I believe we saw the best two teams in the league, on currently form. It’ll take a massive effort to beat either of us in the finals.
  17. Very sad news. Great player to watch.
  18. 6. Viney 5. Petracca 4. Gawn 3. Hunter 2. ANB 1. Kossie
  19. Would have missed Howes as well (who I have some high hopes for). Would have been a huge investment to match Pick 5 for a 'project player'.
  20. I’ll be cold in the ground before a bemoan a Geelong loss. Book an early holiday Cats!

If they were open to it, I’d offer our two first rounders. Carlton forward line functions better without him and he is exactly what we need.
  22. We’ve been keen on Mitch Georgiades since his draft year…

Hopefully another player that Fremantle has low-balled and they’ve decided to leave. We were very keen but maybe his price has risen too high.
  24. Played the game of his life against us last year, so our coaches would have got a good look at him. Might enjoy the extra space on the wings at the G…
  25. Such is the saturation of AFL media, by the time we hit draft night(s) this will be touted as a super draft. Always is. Every media pundit needs to create content singing the praises of every star in the fist 25 picks and they’re always trying to outdo each other.
