  1. We’re not as good as we thought we were, but we are nowhere near as bad as some here say we are. I’d be hoping for at least nine more wins leading into finals. I like Geelong’s recent statements and the same should apply to us: “We’re not playing the way we’d like to play right now; we just need to be right in time for the finals.’
  2. All fair enough. We are unbeaten on the mcg so I’m hoping that it’s simply a case of struggling away from our fortress…
  3. Reid is an inciting proposition, but we can’t sell the farm to get him. I have a feeling the list may need a little overhaul/refresh at the end of the season.
  4. I’d give a boo or two. It’s all part of the theatre of it!
  5. Feel this is an opportunity for some youth and enthusiasm to come into the team. Senior players seemed to celebrate with genuine joy Judd’s explores earlier in the year. Would love to see any or all of Howes, Woey or even Disco or Laurie back in the lineup.
  6. There may be some passing interest in whether Clayton Oliver is training...
  7. I agreed with most of what King said, with the exception of Steven May. I don’t think we want him running out of position just for some push and shove. The on ballers, who would have been directly involved in the next stoppage, should have helped him out (on numerous occasions).
  8. Good to the Cats lose, regardless of the circumstances. We just need to pump Freo next week to get the thread back on track!
  9. It’s the midfield. Forwards are not getting a look, backs are under siege. Midfield cannot clear and move the ball.
  10. Exactly the sort of person we’d want at the club, in any capacity. I like when players experience different clubs, coaching, administrations and cultures, but I hope he eventually brings all of that back to the Dees.
  11. I'm not saying I want to know what they are, I'm suggesting that before we refer to him as a fringe player who we can trade away at year's end, we should consider there may be bigger reasons why he's not at his best this year. Harmes when happy, healthy and in form is a walk up to our best 22.
  12. I’m not sure we ever got clarification for the ‘personal reasons’ that kept him out of the team earlier in the year. I thought it may be that keeping him out of the team recently…
  13. Collingwood look very good, but no better than we did this time last year and we all know how that turned out…. Loooooooooong season and anything can still happen. Melbourne, Collingwood, Brisbane and Geelong all seem a cut above the rest at the moment. Port Adelaide, Crows and Bulldogs also a chance on their day.
  14. Gonna be difficult to appeal or convict without any footage of the actual tackle, ‘sling’ or ‘dump’…
  15. Good point. We’ll also never see Langdon and Hunter both play complete, high possession games on the same day as one of them will always be playing on the defensive side wing. First half was played more on Hunter’s side, second half on Langdon’s.
  16. Did not see this young man coming at all! It’s an incredible transformation over the course of a year at the club. A lock down back pocket who is assured, polished and classy with ball in hand. He frees up Bowey and Rivers to be more attacking. We may have found an absolute gem.
  17. 6. Viney 5. Petracca 4. Oliver 3. Rivers 2. Hibberd 1. May
  18. ‘Top 5 Players’ makes the criteria very unclear, but if he’s saying the current top performing or in-form players, then the only one I’d strongly disagree with is Dangerfield.
  19. My boys were talking about getting 37, but I’m worried Kade may be offered a lower number now that he’s tearing it up. Number 2 could be a solid investment in the future… hopefully 36 is as well.
  20. Always thought he was a (at best) a blue-collar, high effort toiler who could apply some tackling pressure and perhaps play a defensive forward role. Was surprised he rebuked Adelaide’s advances as I didn’t see a lot of games for him at the Dees. I’ve been stunned this year by his skills and creativity. Great passing skills, awareness, aerobic fitness and finishing skills. A genuine weapon. All of this in addition to him seemingly being a genuinely nice guy!
  21. I almost thought that was a joke at the time. A sort of ‘funny because it’s so wrong’ thing. Glad it stopped. The only time I remember Melbourne fans booing someone who hadn’t left the club was when we played Adelaide at the G in 2009 and Nathan Bock had recently been accused / charged with domestic violence.
  22. Did any other teams boo Scully in ‘solidarity’ with us..? That’s the weird part.
  23. This is the best I’ve seen him play. When he hits the ball at speed you get a glimpse of the player he’ll become.
  24. Never in doubt; great clubman and teammate.
  25. As Melbourne supporters, we spent most of our time during his peak years trying to highlight his faults so we could win the Gawn v Grundy debates. Always knew he was a great player - just never wanted to admit it until this year.
