The Wiz vs Daicos at the G
Wiz is a Melbourne fan- there was some great footage of him celebrating in the stands after a finals win last year. His son however, being born and raised in WA, may feel his allegiance lies elsewhere.

Aaron vandenBerg
He was huge in the closing rounds of 2018 and the finals. Tough, aggressive and literally hurt the opposition. We have missed him this year. In fact, AVB and Hannan were playing different, but equally important roles in our forward half last year. When those two were fit, we played our best football. 100% keep and cross our collective fingers that his ankle can hold.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Trengove and Scully were regarded as the better players (by some margin). It's also worth bearing in mind how close Dusty came to crashing completely off the rails in the early years of his career. It's a credit to Richmond (and Martin) that he got through that phase. I'm torn on Bennell... individually, he's a massive talent. However, the baggage that he could bring with him has the potential to poison the whole playing group. For his own sake, it's probably a good move to try to leave WA... whether he'll find the same trouble over here remains to be seen.

Brandon Ellis (now a Sun)
Was a very strong contributor to their premiership- plays with pace, intensity and aggression. Has fallen away in the last 18 months, but would gladly take him.

Ranked 16th for Best U23 Talent
My god! Can you imagine if we’d done the Stocker trade instead of Adelaide. (Gifting Carlton pick 2 this year) Demonland would break the interwebs!

Ranked 16th for Best U23 Talent
In fairness, the article does say this at the end and adds: ‘considering much of the club's core is only a little older than this group, there aren't any major concerns around the make-up of the list.’ Add to this the fact that we have arguably the best under 23 player in the league, and this thread starts to look like a bit of an overreaction.

5 stages of grief
I have definitely been through each of these this season and can clearly remember each one. Fortunately, am now we’ll and truly in acceptance. 2019 is gone and there’s nothing I can do about it; may as well enjoy Brisbane playing some exciting football. However... I am quite confident that we’ll bounce back next season... so it’s possible I’m in ‘bargaining’ still and don’t even realise.

POSTMATCH: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
Gonna be tough to make the 8 now...

If Adelaide sacked Pyke and made a long-term offer to lure Goodwin
All a bit strange. There is zero chance of Roos taking a senior coaching position next year- MFC or Carlton. He may take a consultant role at CFC to top up the super, but nothing more. Roos wasn’t fired by the MFC; he left. He didn’t want to be a senior coach anymore due the the overwhelming demands it put on him and his family. If the club doesn’t want Goodwin, we don’t have to hope that Adelaide will bring him in; the club simply fires him. With that said, you don’t fire a coach 10 months after a preliminary final. Next year he may be under pressure, but it’s not there yet.

PREGAME: Rd 19 vs St. Kilda
The hyperbole here is next-level ridiculous. Save the bemoaning our loss until after the match. Dees by 20.

Darren Burgess officially our new fitness coach.
This is a big get for the club; a genuinely world-class practitioner. Well done to everyone working behind the scenes.

Demons Grand Plan for Yarra Park Training HQ
I'm not as well versed on this issue as many on here, but this latest proposal/rumour seems a lot more realistic. Would plant us right in the heart of the Melbourne sports precinct.

Play May Forward
Lever, May, Hibberd, Frost, Jetta, Lockhart, Salem and co need some continuity and game time together. The remaining rounds are invaluable in ensuring that we hit Round 1 2020 with all guns firing.
-
If we are in this position next year the blame falls with Roos and Jackson!
This is a stretch... and that’s being generous.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
FWIW, I can't remember a year when those 'reports' haven't done the usual media rounds... not convinced we'll finish bottom two at any rate.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
We've been after Langdon for (at least) 3 years, if he's keen, I think we'll snare him. Bit of negativity on him recently, but the kid can play and still has his best years ahead of him.

Pruess...VFL is his spot
My take on Preuss is that he is a number 1 ruckman only. If we had a player of his calibre on our list in 2017 when Gawn went down with that bad hamstring injury, then we would have played finals that year. Preuss is insurance for Gawn going down; something that is definitely going to happen from time to time over the next few seasons. When Gawn misses a match or two, we can’t just forfeit the ruck contests, we need someone with the size, strength and experience to step right into that spot. If we can find a good ruckman through the draft to develop alongside them, then we’ll be very well placed in that area.

The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
Zero chance of a 1st round PP for Gold Coast. Gold Coast’s issues have nothing to do with a lack of young talent and Brisbane’s turnaround will be looked upon as the model.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
The guy’s a jet and we’ve been ‘linked’ with him for a while. He’d be worth a first round pick- don’t know about a top five pick though...
-
Oscar McDonald
I’m sure we’d find something in the 2017 pre-season drink driving thread.
-
Best 22 of Traded Players
Jakovich traded or delisted? Including free agents like Rivers? Andy Lovell was an underrated loss.
-
Oscar McDonald
Demonland does not have a good strike rate for predicting contract renewals. There wouldn’t be a single player on our list who hasn’t been a ‘delist’ or ‘trade for zero or nearest offer’
-
Oscar McDonald
Or the selection of an overweight country kid who couldn’t even get a guernsey for the Nationals Champs at pick 4.

What's more important for us...
Always room for discussion, but I would think that the Melbourne and Carlton football clubs have conclusively put this question to rest.
