  1. Simon Godfrey..? What year was this? Is that when you think the ‘booing’ started?
  2. Feeling much better with Rawlings back in the coaching group; I’d say we would have had to top-up his pay to get him to give up his senior coaching gig at Casey.
  3. Maybe we could throw in Oliver as steak knives to entice a trade..?
  4. My take on Goodes was that he was quite literally the 'perfect' AFL player. He could play Ruck, Forward, Wing or on the ball; and whilst I don't remember him ever playing there, he could have dominated down back as well. He was strong, fast, had great power and acceleration, incredible endurance, clean hands and was extremely skilful. One of the things that was lost in the complete poo-storm that was his final year, was just how good a player he was. If you were to design a perfect Australian Rules Footballer, he's pretty much what you'd come up with.
  5. Has always had the talent, but never seemed to have the heart for it. Is playing well though for this season - my fear would be that it's because it's a contract year. Doubt Saints would let him walk - they have very little quality on their list.
  6. All about the development heading into 2020 from here! Want to see some wins, confidence and synergy in the team so we can hit the ground running next season. - Would love to see Baker getting some more games into him; Baker and Hunt roaming the wings of the MCG could be a dangerous proposition. - getting some quality game-time into Lever, May, Hibberd, Salem, Hore, Jetta, Lockhart, etc. Let them learn how to predict and play off each other in the second half of the year so there's no growing pains round 1 2020. - Sparrow and Dunkley starting to get some form at Casey and start to beat down the door for seniors. - AVB to make a full recovery and get some games in, before a quick rest and ready to go for day one of pre-season. - Petracca playing full time in the mid-field with little spells up forward. Let him feel the heat and intensity so he knows how far his endurance needs to improve going into the next pre-season. Want him built like Jobe Watson round 1 2020. - Weideman is looking like Max Gawn in 2014. He's reading the ball and getting to the right spots, but it's just not sticking. When they start to stick, then we'll have a real player on our hands. - Brayshaw in the guts. - Harmes to continue with his current trajectory; he is a gun and one of the most underrated players going round. - Oliver, Brayshaw, Petracca, Viney, Harmes with Gawn in the center square - we really shouldn't be losing many clearances.
  7. Dogs fans are uneasy about Dunkley not being signed, especially with free agent Libba signing on last week and taking up a bit of the cap. I have no insider information other than if they’re concerned, I’m interested. On form would be in our top five players this year. On a side note, their father Andrew said on his mid season draft interview that he wanted/hoped to see the boys play together someday... made it all a bit awkward.
  8. Off injured at the start of the second.
  9. Might be a good time for Sydney to execute their head recruiter.
  10. Stratton is a dog. Its always interesting to see how players cope when they’ve been members of very successful teams who are then on the decline. He is someone who isn’t handling it well.
  11. Jack Martin is putting together a very good year. The cynic would say it’s his contract year, the optimist would say he’s finally got his body right and is realising his potential.
  12. That’s dog act and even worse that’s being done by a captain. Team’s getting well beaten and you’re sneaking around pinching your opponent. Inspiring.
  13. No good enough or Fremantle bound..?

Is it a coincidence that anyone who plays as the Adelaide’s third tall defender seems to be a gun... Adelaide’s gameplan and back six set up seems to be a great place for 3rd talls to stack up possessions and intercepts: Lever replaced by Doedee replaced by Keith. On Keith; if he wanted to come to us and it wasn’t a first round pick... yes- never turn away quality. But like everyone here I believe that it’s far from a priority.
  15. One more year under similar conditions to Lewis this year and Bernie last before him. Had a shocker today but has offered plenty in other matches. Is no longer a 'walk-up' starter.
  16. My god I hope 'Spaceman' doesn't catch on. BT is pushing it pretty hard.
  17. 195 !?!? Saw him play for the fist time yesterday and had no idea he was that tall. That's exceptional speed and agility for such a tall player.
  18. Lockhart was playing like an AFL player today. He was better than his opponents and he knew it. Was confident and assured throughout.
  19. Entertaining match - most unexpected.
  20. Don’t recall Goodes being booed before he was Australian of the Year and made a series of ‘controversial’ comments about Australia’s history. In fact, don’t really remember much negativity about him at all prior to his AOTY. Andrew Bolt, Alan Jones, etc then had him well and truly in their sights and the ‘school of hard knocks’ alumni on social media started drumming up the ‘un-australian’ sentiment online. Seen plenty of players booed for an incident during a match. Seen plenty booed for something they did to a team during a previous match. Seen a player booed for something he did during the week leading in. Never seen another player booed so consistently for something so ill-defined and non-specific as ‘flopping’ or ‘playing for free kicks’.
  21. Didn’t have a problem with the Chaplin one as it was, if memory serves correctly, just on Grand Final day and Melbourne had obviously been out of contention for weeks. As this one is a current player during he (men’s) season, it’s not a great look. Worth a word in her ear- certainly nothing more than that.
  22. Barty’s through!!
  23. It'll need to be Martin to do it as only Brownlow medalists are permitted to punch people on-field.
  24. There is some big personal issues off-field. No club will go near him.
  25. Tongue in cheek.
