If Petracca plays forward again next year, he needs to be the one that steps up to help McDonald on the score board. Personally, i’d rather him get super-fit and play midfield. But if he’s staying forward, there’s no reason why a player of his talent and ability can’t kick well over 40 goals in a season. That’s not to discount Weideman- it’s just that when you look at our forward line talent, Petracca is under performing in regards to scoreboard impact.

In Mahoney’s time at the club we have been through a huge range of leaders, from Presidents, to CEOs to Coaches. All of them have had the opportunity to remove Mahoney, but none of them have- to the contrary, he’s been consistently promoted. If Peter Jackson and Paul Roos were both happy to at first retain him, then develop and promote home- then he’s fine by me.

Current football department issues aren't Pert's fault. The club's response in the coming months are for what he should be judged. New Balanced signed on for three more years; he's had a good week.

They should... but their and our history shows that it is much easier said than done. Having potential doesn’t guarantee success, just as being the hunter is significantly easier than the hunted. No one will take them lightly next year, so will be interesting to see how they cope with the pressure.
