There's clearly been some chatter between his management and the club about where they see him playing in the coming years. Followed him in his draft year and was a big fan of his brother. Haven’t seen him play at senior level and was surprised to read Nth fans potting him recently. There’s a knock on his intensity and agility to play key defence. (Similar criticisms have been levelled at Petty) The kid’s a beast and may be worth a look, whilst not directly addressing a key need on field.

If Petracca plays forward again next year, he needs to be the one that steps up to help McDonald on the score board. Personally, i’d rather him get super-fit and play midfield. But if he’s staying forward, there’s no reason why a player of his talent and ability can’t kick well over 40 goals in a season. That’s not to discount Weideman- it’s just that when you look at our forward line talent, Petracca is under performing in regards to scoreboard impact.

In Mahoney’s time at the club we have been through a huge range of leaders, from Presidents, to CEOs to Coaches. All of them have had the opportunity to remove Mahoney, but none of them have- to the contrary, he’s been consistently promoted. If Peter Jackson and Paul Roos were both happy to at first retain him, then develop and promote home- then he’s fine by me.

Yes. 1000% yes. With a new year come limitless possibilities. Without that hope, what’s the point?
