  1. Point 4. The board intends to utilise the Future Fund to subsidise the costs of the 3 month election campaigns that Deemocracy are proposing for every board vacancy.
  2. A picture of the catering staff (I'm being kind) was posted on the MFC Instagram page. Are you amongst them WCW?
  3. Your 2nd question to Kozzie should have been "On which club's letterhead will you be signing on?".
  4. Without Fritsch, and Kozzie playing further up the ground, I don't think our forward line is imposing. Our midfield dominance masks some of our deficiencies. The addition of Hunter will create even more opportunities, but I don't think our current forward structure or personnel take full advantage. Our high half forwards in Harmes, Sparrow, ANB and Spargo aren't goal kickers. Kozzie is our only legitimate crumbing forward, although Fritsch has the smarts to get crumbing goals. Chandler seems to have the smarts to get on the end of passes and kick goals, which is why he should be a round 1 lock, in place of 1 of the half forwards. I don't like our ruckmen resting forward, and competing against our key forwards, when we lack crumbing forwards. And none of them are good contested marks. We'll have no problem scoring when the ball is in open play, but when the opposition hold us up, bombing long deep into the pockets will be a problem like last year.
  5. I'll be honest, I thought that McVee would be the least likely of the 2nd year players to debut this year. But based on that game, he'll be pushing for round 1. He was excellent 1 on 1, read the play well, and his disposal was neat and effective. Others to impress were Hunter, Rivers, Bowey and Chandler. If Kozzie is playing further up field, then Chandler should be a lock for round 1. Rivers should be challenging Harmes for a spot in the side. The Grundy/Gawn combo went as how I thought it would. Gawn is vastly superior around the ground, and despite kicking 3 between them, neither were effective as marking forwards. Grundy's ruckwork was largely ineffectual, and was cumbersome at ground level.
  6. WH gave out a clue, which by the lack of reaction, seems to have gone through to the keeper.
  7. Sorry WCW, there is no clue in my comment.
  8. I was stung into action after WCW worked out Demonstone's last quiz, and I couldn't. 😁
  9. I don't think that Chandler plays the role of Pickett, ANB or Spargo. But the match committee need to decide whether they go again with an underperforming forward line, or they change things up. Pickett is our only true crumbing forward. Moving him out of the forward line for long periods of the game would be disastrous. When he's in form, ANB's role is important, but you can't carry out of form players. Chandler's skillset as a forward potentially offers more than what Spargo does in his role.
  10. I'm with BBP. If given the chances that ANB and Spargo have been gifted at times, his price should be $1.80. But based on loyalties to the 2021 premiership players, his stock price will be $1.
  11. After submitting 2 wrong answers, I'm gun shy from having another crack at this one. But would Steve Waugh, Mark Waugh and Evelyn Waugh be a suitable line for this quiz?
  12. Ernie Taylor is rightfully peeved with Helen D'Amico. Might have cost him a place in the side. He wore no.82 for Richmond.
  13. Surely Andrew Dale is the most prestigious.

    Not AFL

Pretty sure that the club was told by FFA not to make any comments. It seems fair enough given the investigations are ongoing, and more sanctions could occur.

    Not AFL

Huh? So why did you make the comment that "popular does not always equal the best", if not to imply there are better games? If so, what are the better games? If you asked me in the '80s which game is the best to watch, I would have argued AFL without a doubt, despite the fact that I was playing soccer at the time. But once the domestic competitions started importing foreign players, the standard and aesthetics of soccer has improved immeasurably. Conversely, AFL reached it's peak in the '80s and 90's when you had Lockett, Dunstall and Ablett all kicking 100+ goals a season. Since then, the AFL has continued to tinker with the rules and interpretations to improve the "look" of the game. These days, I'd rather watch a neutral game of NFL, whereas I have little interest watching an AFL game between teams I find boring.

You're insinuating that AFL is the best game. What are you basing that on?

    Not AFL

The AFL has changed it's rules/interpretations more than any other game, in order to make it more appealing, and yet people still bring up the argument that it's the most exciting game in the world. My thoughts on watching a Soccer game is the same as watching an AFL game. You get some good ones and bad ones. But the atmosphere at a great soccer game is unrivalled. The issue at hand has got nothing to do with the game itself. It's seems like it's a combination of some poor administration decisions, and a bunch of morons. Deducting points from clubs is a start, and banning flares is a must.
  18. I was more referring to Ben Brown having to play the role of a pack horse in the absence of T Mac. Ben Brown's strength is marking on the lead, but he wasn't allowed that luxury. Fritta is able to kick goals in a variety of ways. I'm not expecting Jefferson to play in a similar manner to Fritta. But I can see JVR being capable of scoring in different ways. As others have said, Jefferson looks like a project player.
  19. Cadman is at GWS. But if we continue with our game style of kicking it into the forward pocket on top of our key forwards head, then Jefferson will find it tough. There is no evidence of our superior mids giving our key forwards silver service. In fact Nick Larkey at North had it easier than our key forwards.
  20. Thanks Ben for all your hard work. The amount of content that you provided for both the men's and women's team was incredible.
  21. How did you find out about the "secret shows"? I walk past The Croc on my way to work, and always check to see who's playing. I was so [censored] off when I saw YouTube clips of their gig. Personally, I'd rather see them at a smaller venue than at a festival, but being able to see The Cosmic Psychos as well will make it worth while. I'm jealous that you're going to see Nick Cave. Does it include all the Bad Seeds, or just Nick and Warren Ellis?
  22. If you watch the replay, I think the ball would have ended up stopping 2 metres from the goal line. Regardless, it was poor by Ch 7 not to show it. Fantastic effort by all the girls, but our primary mids in Hanks, Purcell and West were incredible. After watching all the postgame speeches and interviews, the Lions AFLW team are now my most hated. The captain obviously had a winning speech prepared, and thought she may as well use it. The BOG winner of a losing team shouldn't be giving a speech. But Starcevich takes the cake in his postgame presser. He talked about how good the pregame entertainment was, even though he couldn't get to see it. Then said that it was probably better than the game at times. He wouldn't have said that if they won. He came across as a sore loser.
  23. So now you know how the rest of us feel when we received the Deemocracy email and mail. If you received an email from NT Tourism, then I'm assuming all members will receive it. How do you know the club supplied it? We do receive Spam emails based on Google searches.
