Farewell Adam Tomlinson
No surprise. He's been pure depth for us, and even when he performed well, he was straight out of the team. Unless, Petty or Turner move back to defence, it leaves us short on kpd depth. Adams is still an unknown quantity.

Welcome to Demonland: Bayley Fritsch
The criticisms of Fritsch are ridiculous. As others have pointed out, it's not always the role of a key forward to be chasing backmen up the field. Sure, he could improve his tackling, but nearly everyone on our list could improve some aspect of their game. Some Demonlanders want to trade him in 2020, but without him, we don't win a flag. I always go into games thinking that unless Fritsch or Kossie fire, we have no hope of winning.

Greg Stafford departs Melbourne
It's impossible to measure the impact of assistant coaches. But I feel that Goodwin needs some fresh ideas around him. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a club decision to part with Stafford, but gave him a dignified exit by saying it was his decision to leave.

THE GREATEST PLAYERS IN MELBOURNE DEMONS HISTORY
Started following the club in 1972. 1. Flower 2. Gawn 3. Lyon 4. Neitz 5. Petracca If Oliver can get back to his old self, then he'll get in the top 5.

Port Adelaide Chasing Kozzy Again
I don't think so. If ANB was of the same quality as Kozzie, we would hold him to his contract, and make arrangements to satisfy his family issues in SA.

Garry Lyon brilliant!
The point I'm making is that Garry Lyon has often been ridiculed on Demonland when he "rationally" criticises the club. And it's the same people who ridiculed him then, are in love with him now.
-
Garry Lyon brilliant!
Former great player makes emotional rant supporting the club. - Demonland outpouring of love to former player. Former great player makes rational critique of where the club is at. - Demonland want him burnt at the stake for heresy. Until Trac and JV come out and say that their future is at the MFC, I couldn't care less about Garry Lyon's opinion piece.

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Gold Coast Suns
If you've followed Casey all year, there's been plenty of games where Casey has been stacked with senior players. The problem is that most of these players have been recruited from other clubs, and are either past it, or are unmotivated. Casey have been putrid all year even when they've had the more experience.

Gary Pert on SEN (17/8/24)
So hypothetically, what if Trac tells Pert that he has an issue with Goody's gameplan? Or he's concerned with the direction of the club in terms of our poor recruiting in recent years? Pert can't direct Trac's concerns to the respective departments. It undermines the authority of those people in the roles. This is why an independent/external review of the club is needed. The fact that a CEO has to address the concerns of a player suggests that all is not well.
-
Gary Pert on SEN (17/8/24)
I doubt that he was referring to a positional role. It's more about Trac being a senior player, and his influence within the playing group.

CASEY: Rd 21 vs Gold Coast Suns
He's seen as the heir apparent to Witts. It's just a shame that we don't have a similar player at the club. Verrall is bog average.

An external review of the Melbourne Football Club is required!
Every club has had narrow losses. Our ladder position is a true reflection of our performance this year. If Trac's comments are true, and Dan Houston has had a change of heart about joining us, then you can't just sweep things under the carpet. The perception of the club from the outside will impact our onfield performances if not addressed.

Luke Parker open to move
Parker will be 32 before the season starts. He's achieved pretty much everything as a Swans player, so I question his motivation for leaving. We have 3 older mids in Trac, Viney and Oliver. We don't need a 32yo with a recent injury history on our list.
-
Luke Parker open to move
Different scenario. Parker is struggling to get a game. Getting Parker reeks of Hunter and Billings. All are past their prime, and their clubs were happy to get them off the books.
-
James Peatling
I was referring to your 2nd paragraph, rather than specifically Peatling.
-
James Peatling
Peatling is exactly the type of player we should have been pursuing over the past 3 years. Instead Lamb goes after 27yo unwanted players who's best was past them.

Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Don't blame the messenger, it's their job to source and publish info like this. And for those calling for a witchhunt for a supposed leak at clubland. this type of info could have been passed on by a person 4 times removed from ANB. Player managers talk to family, who in turn talk to friends and workmates. It's easy for this story to get out. And he's hardly a high profile player.
-
Farewell Alex Neal-Bullen
Perfect summation. I've always believed that we needed an upgrade on his role. Being a good clubman won him plenty of brownie points with the coaches. But the reality is we need to improve, and Nibbler is expendable. He'll be remembered as a premiership player, and wish him the best.
-
Dan Houston
You lost me when you compared Houston to Taranto.
-
Dan Houston
If Houston was a free agent, by all means get him. But a running half back/wing is not our most pressing need. Giving up 1st round draft picks for a 27yo, who doesn't move the needle, is poor list management. If the club genuinely believes we are still in a premiership window, then use draft capital on addressing our obvious needs. Houston is an upgrade on Hunter and Billings, but that's setting the bar low.
- New List Manager - Tim Lamb?

Demonstone's YACK (Yet Another Cryptic Kerfuffle)
Stupid name for a state. It's not even an actual islnad. I've worked this out and messaged LG.

"Very sore" Max Gawn in doubt for next Saturday vs Essendon
The injury occured through contact at a centre bounce.

CASEY: Rd 15 vs Brisbane Lions
Every one of your posts is about the umpires. How about focusing on our listed players.

Trade Targets
The only appeal of Cumming is that he's a free agent. But his form/age profile is the exact same as Hunter and Billings. He's out of favour for a reason. We should be targeting players in their early 20's who have shown something, but can't get a game due to the quality of players ahead of them. GWS have moved Callum Brown down back rather than play Cumming.
