So..to pose the devils advocacy, if those suggesting hes not a star yet, then he must be by the 'yet" a star in the making. If he's a star in the making( bysuch definition ) then he is already a star, just not quite so bright.

A star is a star... whether YOU see its light is a factor of you ability to see it...not whether the light exists !!

lets not confuse "star"..with necessarily "accomplished "

he's already a "Rising ' Star

he's already been the subject of more than a couple of segments on telly Liam Jurrah MFC (on ABC )

O'Loughlin thinks he's a star O'loughlin considers Jurrah a future star

Was already a Star for Yuendumu

Talking with others who folow other clubs...they see him as a star ( apparently we have few..lol )

Maybe the only issue here is some think he's already a star, others think he wil be.

Fruitless exercise in semantics

then dont bother !! some of us obviously think diferently to others including yourself... who'd ever think that possible on a forum

But possibly if you have nothing to add...do just that !!

I voted for no.

I really love the kid but you cant really play 9 games and be a start can you?

Imagine if he where to off and leave or even get injured.

Give him the end of next season and he WILL be a start.

I voted no, he's an incredible prospect and can seemingly do the unbelievable but IMO he still has a way to go before he can be considered a star. Firstly i don't think it's right to put that kind of pressure on someone that's still so raw, and secondly star players are established and can handle the heat when the other teams place extra pressure on them. With only 9 games under his belt he hasn't been given the best defenders and the right amount of respect, round 1 next year that will change because teams now know what happens if you underestimate him.

That said, if he continues down his current path midway next year he will be the talk of the town (and not just because of his incredible journey).

I disagree. what many are talking of is accomplishments. i.e you can not be this or that without first having done X and Y

.

Being a Star is quite separate but can be parallel. A Star is someone who by their very presence and the qualities they bring to bear on a game set themselves apart and above the general masses. Jurrah does this.

He stars in games..he is a a genuine star of the game. His luminosity may get brighter still,,but he already shines.

And you've done exactly that with your pointless nit picking.

Star is subjective. To some he is, to some he isn't.

Exactly.

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well
