G'day Fellow Demons Supporters!

Yes that is the question. Are we going to WIN at all this year?

I understand we are going through short term pain for long term gain...but I hope we improve enough and become competitive enough to win at least a few games this year.

To go the ENTIRE season without a win would be absolutely disgraceful and would apply even more unwanted pressure onto the MFC.

I'm sure we will probably win a few games. I just hope it happens sooner rather than later...

No. Unless we get some massive good luck from the tooth fairy or some football angel...

They'll break through eventually. Probably against Collingwood (I'm not being sarcastic, either)

As long as we don't win more than 4. This is not saying I don't want to win but we have no chance of making finals and our list needs major improvement. Get picks 1 and 17, 18 and give a chance if we can't improve next year for pick 1 and 2.

Time to be real and start to do what most teams in the AFL have done take advantage of the draft to build a strong young list.

Agree with you, I think if we can take the Pies...but also think we are a chance against the Dockers

I hope not.

West Coast are tanking HARD to get Daniel Rich.

Lets not stuff up two years ago by winning meaningless games that cost us big time.

It will be worth going 0-22 just to see Rich in a Demons jumper.

Hope I'm wrong but can't see us beating anyone. List will change big time over the next couple of years

Unless Rich grows dreadlocks and shoots up 20cm, can jump over houses and takes out Fijian citizenship, I can't see him playing for Melbourne next year.

We MUST recruit the big fella!

You know that a ruckman who can leap over houses is next to useless unless he can kick the football, don't you?

Daniel Rich is where it's at.

My only concern is winning no more than 4 games this year. I am comforted by what I have seen on that front so far this year.

I am more concerned with the progress and development of younger players, the phase out of senior players who will not be around next year and the identification of those players that simply wont make it.

Richmond on 10 points and Carlton on 8 points after round 5 gives me some comfort that they may not be eligible for 1st round PP.

Therefore MFC will have picks 1, 17, 18 and I would say its a misere that we will trade for another first rounder at least and a second rounder in the draft.

I really, really hope that's what happens. Players like Green, Moloney and Wheatley should be traded to get us more first round picks. As many as possible, like Hawthorn a few years back. We all know where they are now, and where they're going.

Yeah, we should not be recruiting anyone who less than excellent with their foot skills. Look at Geelong, every one of them are sublime with their feet.

I'm still not convinced with spending a top pick on a ruck. No use having a good ruck when none of our players are smart enough to read where its going to go.

You could throw the 3 of them in a hessian bag and would not get a 1st round pick. Neither Moloney nor Wheatley have market currency. Benchmark them against TJ who traded was pick 16. Neither are in a bulls roar of that interest. Which clubs would go for a crippled Moloney and an uninspiring Wheatley for more than a last 2nd or 3rd rounder. Are both out of contract this year?

There are going to be possibly others looked at.

Who?

My suggestion is we trade Bruce for a second round pick. I don't think there is anybody capable of netting us a first round pick.

We will not win a game until the so called coach (he couldt'n coach a pig to dirty) wakes up to the fact it's called FOOTBALL, not look back and hand pass, NEVER kick the ball forward. He exhausts the players by quarter time with all the changes he makes, the players never get time to settle into a position before they are off the ground and then two minutes later are sent back on the some other part of the ground.

Not much to disagree with there

Bailey being a NEW coach with no pre concieved ideas or loyalties to any particular player will have the advantage of being an observer for his first season and by seasons end know who he needs , who is worth hanging onto , who is suitable trade bait in order to get a first round pick and who cleans out their locker

In my opinion we have only one true KPP on our list in Rivers (rookies excluded) and getting another is #1 priority in 2009

And of our current rookies I am looking forward to seeing Jack Grimes myself

Too early to tell about next years draft yet but Hurley has KPP written all over him IMO

That would be the best case scenario for the club, take an absolute gun with the first pick plus 3 other handy first rounders, then reload the team adding Grimes and Maric as well. Added to that they should be able to throw enough cash around with our upcoming retirements to lure a big name in the psd.

We will have to draft our own big man besides room in our cap we don't have much to offer. The only players besides the real young ones that are worth anything in trading terms are Mclean, Rivers, Green, Jones and Sylvia but only the first two would get us a low first round pick

That is bloody disgusting. Even from you YM. After all, even if we got him, our development of players is that shithouse we would ruin him anyway.

Back to 0-22. If that is to be the case, then the MFC don't deserve to be in any football league. Imagine an AFL team going through an entire year winless. It would be an absolute disgrace.

Just contemplating a 0-22 season is infuriating.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
