Just something that i've noticed, and which i commend Baily for..............but the rise in PJ's stocks has coinsided with the amount of game time that he is now being given.

From what i saw yesterday both PJ and White were on the ground for the majority of the game..............when they needed a rest they would just rotate between ruck and the loose man in defence.

It can only be a good thing because Daniher only used to give the second ruckman 5mins at the end of each quarter so white could have a rest.

What does everyone think?

Yeah, I think it is a good thing... we have to look at replacing White eventually, and giving the 2nd ruckman plenty of game-time is a good move.

I also noticed that Bailey has thrown the mid-fielders up forward to give them a rest from the middle occasionally. I noticed it against the Doggies with McLean and Jones having at least one spell each in a forward pocket, and then I am pretty sure that Jones had a spell on the forward line against the Geelong also.

It can't hurt getting more game-time into young legs... all about development.

PJ has grown with more responsibility and let's face it he has played his best football since the sydney game where he did his shoulder, I think we all have been surprised and he seems to be marking the ball quite well as well.

He was horrible last week but definately made up for it against Geelong. He has all the tools to be a good ruckman he just has to put it all together and show more aggression and he could be anything.

Who PJ?

I thought he pretty good last week, more than held his own in the ruck and round the ground, and was never unwilling to put his big body on the line. He missed those two goals in the first when we were still in it, but i wouldnt go as far as to say he was terrible. If i remember right, he got quite a few votes in both the Demonland and Demonology player of the year voting.?

I only watched the Geel game on TV, but I've been to a few other games this season, and we've often had two rucks on the ground at once.

PJ's had plenty of game time, which is good, and he's spent a fair chunk of that up forward.

He was horrible last week

I disagree. That said, we lost by ~100 points, but it's all relative.

Probably fair to say that Johnno's been one of the better things about the season so far.

At present a best performing big man, this is great for PJ but worrying for the club, we have no KPP playing well and winning there position except PJ he even had more ruck taps than White with great percentage of the to advantage

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
