Well it's got bubbles, anyone who also follows West Ham in premier league will be happy.

I'm forever blowing bubbles, Pretty bubbles in the air.

They fly so high, nearly reach the sky, And like my dreams they fade and die.

Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere...

I'm forever blowing bubbles, pretty bubbles in the air.

to the tune of "i like aeroplane jelly" i think.

well we have more than just bubbles in common with west ham...

Here's a Google Maps image of the site of the stadium. The stadium site is called "Edwin Flack Park" by some and was once a greyhound track but is now just an oval with carparks. CollingwoodFC like to call it "Bob Rose Oval", and used it for outdoor training.

If you zoom out once to a wider view, you'll see that west (left) of the new stadium site is the athletics track and rugby stadium, which I believe stays for the moment (at least it is depicted in one of the views Finks posted). There might be some argument about its redevelopment in the future. West of that again is the Lexus Centre (the old Olympic Swimming Pool just off the Yarra River), which is CollingwoodFC's admin and training centre.

The two ovals east of the new stadium site, across the carparking area, are Gosch's Paddock. That's where Collingwood train outdoors now that the stadium is being built, and what we will "share" for outdoor training. It's much further from the Lexus Centre to Gosch's Paddock than it is from the new stadium. Poor Collingwood.

The MelbourneFC indoor training facilities (shared with Storm and Victory), along with our football administration, will be built as part of the new stadium. That puts us very close (at last) to our home ground MCG, which if you zoom out again, you can't miss just north across the railway line.

cannot wait....what a smart move by the club. we cant afford great facilities on our own so we work it out with other codes and end up getting a better deal than collingwood who have to walk right past us to do kicking training. i suppose it will be a little annoying for the players having to do walk the 100 or so metres to the ovals and have everyone try to interview them and get autographs (which they avoid easily ATM at junction with the rooms right next to the oval) but collingwood have it MUCH MUCH worse!

also, even though their are three codes using the ground, good maintenance should keep it fine because dont forget the MCG can handle 3 games in one weekend

I recieved a letter saying that they had only raised 2.2 milliong of the 4 million required. If all the people who use this site donated $10 it would raise close to $140,000, that would be a huge benefit for the club.

Bruce - that is what the 150 Club is currently for - and Demonology/Demonland are working hard to become full members - AND we're not too far away.

Feel free to have a look at the threat pinned to the top of the boards...

Thanks for the photos Finks, the whole thing is pretty damn exciting........

And thanks to those who have cleared up the question of where our outdoor training area is. I was curious about that. I thought that the rugby ground as it stands now was going to be re-developed into an oval park for our outdoor training, but I guess that was a misunderstanding on my behalf. Oops!!!

So thanks to Maurie and co. for clearing that up :D !!!

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
