With four hours left for trading tomorrow, expect some frantic movements when clubs try and do deals in the last few hours. No doubt there will be deals done tomorrow or the rumours will be so far off as to be laughable. There will be hard luck stories and clubs saying if only we had more time to do the deal. The result will be several players delisted and forming the basis of the PSD. Well we don't have long to wait to know the results.

Fingers crossed at the end of the day we can also welcome a Symes/McKinnley/Murphy.

At first choice I would have said Symes as he'd be a nice fit creating run off the hbf but I think we may already have the tools to create our own running half back flanker. Haven't seen anything of McKinnley but i'm all for them taking the punt on a player of his type. As for Murphy, I really really like the look of this kid, think he's being held back with the addition of Tarrant.

Murphy is tempting but what bait do we have left...

I say that because I think CAC would like to keep 4, 14, 21.

Gee, 4, 14, 21...that sounds pretty good.

Especially with CAC in charge.

On radio tonight CAC said there wasn't anything on the table but we'll wait and see.

I'd like to snare a Bolton or Graham but I doubt we will be involved in another trade.

I think this is the crux of the matter, MFC will sit back and see what we're offered. Should no more trades transpire then we've stil ldone rather well. But is a 'bargain" pops our way, well we're in a very good position to play ball on our terms :) Yes.. might be an interesting day :) The PSD still has me intrigued .

with the psd coming up, and us holding pick3 , we might be interested in trying to suggest players to ehad that way. carlton and richmond would be thinking the same, there is no point in wasting those picks, so it is our job tomorrow to disrupt other potential trades that dont involve us and get some players to the psd!

i cant help but think that carlton wont be a big player in the PSD, simply because they have thrown the bank at judd, and wont be able to spend much on an established player in terms of their salary cap .... i'm sure they'd prefer a $40k draftee given that 15-20% of their cap will be spent on one player.

If you think that then you don't have much of an understanding of how the Carlton Football Club works. They will make way somehow for at least another player today and they'll find a reasonably big fish in the PSD.

I hope that we can do as well and pick up a player or two today and offload a couple of unwanted players from the list as well. Hopefully, there will also be something for us in the PSD.

I think you're spot on. Carlton aren't adverse to creative accountancy.

I imagine today Craig Cameron will be winding things up and having a lunch-time beer. In modern day trading terms we've been very busy, can't see us being part of any further trades.

We've got picks 4, 14 and 21 now, a very good result.

At the end of his interview on SEN last evening CAC said that we had nothing more on our plate; if I remember correctly his exact words were 'no more irons in the fire'.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
