Paul Johnson

I think this guy could develope into something pretty special, and i kepp thinking back to one game he played in 06 at CHF were he dominated before getting injured. Were do you guys see his future:

Ruckmen: tapwork is average

CHB: too slow

CHF: This is the one i like, you have bate as a roaming flanker, taking marks up the field bit like O'keefe, then paul playing closer to home as the next link in the chain, breaking packs and creating spillages for the likes of Davey and sylvia.

CHF is the go. I've been thinking though - with the addition of Meesen we're going to have 4 ruckmen:

White

Jamar

Johnson

Meesen

There's no point having them if we're not going to play them, so I'm thinking maybe one of Johnson or White to no longer be a 'ruckman' but to play this CHF role or something. I can't see the point in re-signing Jamar AND getting Meesen if we're also rucking White.

hey PJ has a lovely kick jaded. i havnt seen him have long shots, but he drops it nice, and follows right thru. i cant see why he couldnt kick 50-60 metres. if he marks inside 50 range shouldnt be a problem.

and regarding the marking, yes its a problem. but sould we decide thats the way he's gonna go, is there something that can be done about that? can we teach him how to use his body strength? he wont learn in regular drills, but perhaps a bit of 1 on 1 work? even miller v PJ for 20 minutes after every session...get them both practice...

Sounds too witty for Paul Johnson :P

I wonder what he was doing at Frankston High, considering he wasn't a student there.

where did he go to school? i heard the story a while back from an mfc supporter friend who said he went to school with him. he came from down frankston way, there is a good chance i got the school wrong. but as i mentioned it was just a story i was told. is pretty funny tho...lol

He should play in the ruck. He is a poor mark and a poor set shot for goal

He is actually a beautiful kick, I think that it is just a matter of confidence.

PJ not being good over-head is an outdated myth IMO. This season his marking dramatically improved and he has shown much more than Jamar ever will.

Riley should never have dropped him.

correct about his kicking, as i have stated here before. and i agree regarding the improvement in his marking. it is hard to judge him on this year considering how poorly the team played, but i think if the midfield steps up we could see him take quite a few more marks up forward...

Play in the Ruck, needs to be super fit so he can ruck all day and grab posi's around the ground.

I dont think he is quick or mobile enough to play forward.

P. Johnson will 23 next season. Still young, can take a mark, great skills for a big bloke.

The problem is he is 6'5 playing like he's 5'10.

I think Bailey would back himself to build him into a ruckman or FF/FP.

Don't get rid of him, get something out of him.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
