I remember when this site went into melt-down before the 2006 Semi Final when Jamar missed the game. Things have changed haven't they

I'm happy to have him on for 2008. With Meeson, White, Jamar and PJ - we'll have quite a handy ruck stable with plenty of depth, which can only be a good thing.

2 year contract is a bit rich, but I'm guessing their planning for the post White era.

I really am thinking along Jaded's lines.. Ruck stock: White > Jamar >Meeson. With PJ regroomed as something else...but can pinch hit in ruck should injuries cause things to go south.

That doesnt look too bad all things considered for 08 :)

Agree. No need to chase Blake, Jolly etc.

isnt meeson also a ruckman we are getting

white pj,jamar,meeson thats plenty

How is it plenty?

White will be gone soon, so that leaves three.

Neither PJ, Jamar, or Meesen have established themselves as a #2 ruck, let alone a first ruck.

Keep in mind...im suggesting that line up is for 08.. 09 may be different again depending on performances !!

We can all sit back and want to trade this bloke for that etc etc..ad nauseum.. However..it takes two to tango. If the reciprocal trades arent available then you can only do what you can do. Im sure htis is the pragmatic approach being taken by Bailey. Do what you can, work with what you have, change as you can change !!

You wont get everything you really want...just some of it; unless youre just dead lucky come trade/drafting.

The thing that disturbs me about the article is that CAC seems to be rejecting a Jamar for Meesen deal

So either CAC is confident we will get Meesen in the PSD

Or CAC is willing to throw away a 3rd riunder on Meesen when we can give away Jamar instead

Id rather give away the useless Jamar

somewhere I recall reading that no one else is interested in Meeson.. well not Richmond or Carlton.. so CAC has offered the Crows some meagre morsel...and either they bite at that or we will grab him in the PSD if no trade forthcoming.

he wont cost us much any which way

Just based on reading posts it seems Meeson may be considered soft generally so you wouldn't spend much.

CAC has been quoted as stating we'll offer Adelaide our 3rd round pick, yeah.

Jamar worth more than a 3rd round pick? Apparently so.

I guess ruckman take a while to develop, and this year's draft is apparently 'weak'.

Agree Rogue.

Plenty of what. Both Jamar and PJ have shown they struggle at AFL level. Meesen is an unknown with a questionable development period.

While I am happy we cut Neaves, I would like us to rookie a young tall player with a future.

If we sign Jamar for two years then PJ better lift his game as he comes out of contract in 2008.

I don't mind if Jamar stays or not but I am keen on Meesan as he could be very good. If your worried about having only 4 ruckmen there is an abundance of ruckmen in this years draft which gives us time to develop.

what was the real problem with Neaves ?? From what I observed he seemed a likely one... seemed to be coming along ok!!

was a bit surprised he was sent packing.. Is there a back story ?

Considering the talk on these forums regarding Neaves, I was a bit surprised too.

However, once he was delisted the view seemed to be that Neaves was a bit slow around the ground etc - remind you of anyone? :P

I haven't seen much of Neaves, and that was only on ABC TV, but I thought we might have kept him on in '08 as our third year rookie.

While I am happy we cut Neaves, I would like us to rookie a young tall player with a future.

I'd like us to rookie another young tall too.

So it seems a lot of you people think that re-signing Jamar and Miller is a joke I can then assume that you think Bailey is now a joke too? as he would have had an input into it, gee one minute hail to the chief, next what a fool, why don't we wait to see what unfolds in a couple of weeks !!

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
