Well probably as per usual some of you may utter.. here come's the looney !!

I for one want to put all this Judd cr@p to bed !!

There are a number of things to consider.. and do this in a clear and rational way, not the way some of you carry on..

he's good.. damn good on days.. but these days he cant play out a game. He is struggling and getting worse.

Some would sell their first born if he were to don the red and blue. Going forward he's not really worth a zack...well at lest not the million zacks he might get off of some unsuspecting desperado.

Can we at least agree to be honest and clear in any appreciation of what he would bring ( even in the most remotest chance he were not to resign with Weagles ) . We must learn from our past abberations of common sense at this club, that all that is shiny is not necessarily gold !!. We got done with Hollywood, with Ooze to name but two. We let the rosey mists cloud our judgement. In light of recent appointments it sems we are getting cleverer.

When adding anything to the recipe you have a simple evaluation; is it an assett or a liability ?

Im going to suggest that to even for one moment chase Judd is to invite a mess. He would to me be a liability, in the same way Beamer is. Thats reality.

I for one would like to put all this nonsense behind us and look to better value and more hardlined decisions come players.

let the slings and arrows commence !!!

In fairness to Bizz he was a very good player for us, at the time we weren't to know his career would be cruelled by injuries. He was never really the same after that hit he took to the face. I reckon he was probably our best defender, maybe just behind Whelan.

The word from the club was that although it was a bit of a risk, we'd rather have him playing good footy for 2 of 3 years than not have him at all.

Clear and rational way

Unless you're the West Coast doctor, who are you to know the extent and future prognosis of Judd's condition?

Obviously the bloke needs a rest but as for his best days being behind him, I doubt it.

I wouldn't be paying someone over a million dollars unless they can play 22+ games a season, with 85%+ game time.

Judd is not capable of doing that right now, and we don't know when he'll be able to do it again.

At the moment, he is not worth the gamble IMHO.

Every game he doesn't play at 90% fitness, is thousands upon thousands of dollars gone down the drain.

Any club looking to make a bid for him would have to look seriously at his medical records. Problem is, if West Coast don't want him gone, they might not want to release his records either.

It's no gamble. He needs an operation, but the club has taken the view that an injured Judd is more value than young Morton. The merits of that debate isn't the issue.

He'll be fine after the operation. He doesn't have OP.

I have suffered OP myself.... Kept me out for a season and still managing it week by week now!

In my opinion The Juddernaut is suffering from the same problem!

I don't give a toss what information is coming out of the West..... He is showing all the signs of OP

Watching him getting rubbed down on Friday night by the Eagles staff definately doesn't tell me otherwise!

Paying over a million a year for him is ridiculous! Yes, the bloke is a gun! Yes, he can dominate matches!

But, Let's just draft well and find our own Chris Judd!!!!!

What has he got H? It sure looks like OP, of course it might be an abductor, but watching him on Friday night it looked like OP to me...

He has floating bone in the groin - that's 'bone' :). It will only be fixed by an operation, but he'll be fine.

Don't ask me how I know, but I know.

Ouch! I'm not sure I've heard of that one before.

floating bone ?.. well thats a new one. its almost irrelevent what he DOES have.what ever he does ACTUALLY suffer from its not doing him any good. I cant for one moment fathom the logic of playing one of your stars knowing its causing havoc, thats almost on the border of criminal neglect ( let alone a disturigly short sighted approach ).

But its not the issue at such ...its the result; he cant play out games. He cant play at 100% even when he is playing. None of this adds up to a 'quality' selection in a player.

Didnt expect everyone to see this as it is.. please to continue :)

Stephen Powell suffered OP so bad his pubic bone had begun to dis-integrate, so the story goes(went).

MFC saw it coming and wouldnt give him the 3 year deal he got with the Saints, I think.

This could mean both KrazyJay and Hannibal are correct.

We really dont want to get another Brent Maloney.

I remember when some thought we outsmarted Richmond by giving up Pick 12 to get him, yet they took the draft pick instead of beamer!!!

They took Danny Meyer with that pick, personally I'd rather have Beamer.

if he did come to the demons, i'm not sure whether we'd have to pay him a million dollars as chris is not a man motivated by money

if he wants to come home to melbourne, he may just want to play for the club he supported as a child and lead them to the flag... lets hope anyway...

I don't think anyone can justify spending $1million/year on a single player if they are seriously considering having a tilt at the flag. As the cliché runs Football is a team game and given a situation where such a vast proportion of the cap is spent on one player it will obviously adversely affect the ability to gather a team that can challenge in September. West Coast are lucky enough to be in the position where they can, essentially, have Judd at 'cut price' unless another team is willing to severely dent their chances for a premiership.

My personal views on Judd are that he is an absolute superstar. Obviously his performance at the moment is lacking comparative to his efforts earlier in the season and the years preceding. However, to argue that he is done and dusted, from my point of view seems to be a huge oversight. This view relies on an assumption that West Coast are playing him while he is not fully fit as he is such a valuable player that a detrimental physical condition will still see him selected. With this assumption in mind, a good rest over the break with a somewhat solid pre-season could invariably see him close to the form that he has become known for. To dismiss the possibility, or to even play it down is, in my opinion, selling Judd short. Although I'm relatively inexperienced compared to many on this forum in terms of judging player talent, in the modern game to have a midfielder of some 190cm and with the natural physical ability of Judd is something that can't be understated. Not only is he physically impressive, his innate ability to read the play and general 'game-smarts' suggest someone who has had years more experience at AFL level.

To put it simply, I believe there's quite a good likelihood that by mid-season next year Judd will be someone near back to his best, and at that level he is in my opinion streets above the rest of the competition. However unless a whole team is willing to take a pay-cut it probably isn't feasible to be placing an exorbitant proportion of the cap on one player and expect to challenge for the flag.

PS. Because I couldn't be bothered reading anyone else's posts this has quite probably already been said :P but I thought I'd jot it down anyway.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
