Far off the mark with Kossie mate. He absolutely dominated today.

Thanks buddy

joeboy has the lid blown off? Great to see some support players really emerging, to get some of the limelight centre stage at the ‘G. Eg. Harry Sharp, Blake Howes and Tom Sparrow. Olivier and Petracca have gone provincial I believe.

Another 99 out of 100 joeboy. I went today to watch Laurie, I honestly didn't see him once.

I bet you were getting anxious there would be consensus.

I particularly liked Petty 'in right places' - he didn't have many decisive wins but he was turning up and making things hard work for Gold Coast in a way no other team has managed to do this season.

Pickett probably the only one I disagree with, in so much as explicitly saying 'without dominating' implies some measure of failure. Pickett was getting himself involved everywhere and making things very difficult while also setting the example of willingness to take risks and not blink when it didn't work out each time.

Seems that his chances are gone. Disposals are not at AFL level.

Well done, Joeboy! One of your best! I probably gave Kossie a higher rating, but hard to fault the rest.

L P was going faster in the last quarter than in the first.

I thought

Laurie Few nice touches

Just not enough

Sparrow. Continued good form

Thought last week was better

But yes on the others fair enough.

Kinda feel sorry for him, hope he’s invested his money wisely because he won’t be getting $400k next year

The people that keep on up calling for Salem to be dropped, and that he's placing the side is a watch, gotta get their head checked and stop being parrots

43% disposal efficiency, lowest ranked player, he is done, haven't seen any AFL traits, not quick not tough, and zero footy IQ

My thoughts exactly. He's been in the system for what? 6 years now?

Haven't seen any progress in his development and he is not physically imposing.

Yesterday I saw him miss too often and sometimes his kicks wouldn't travel more than 35 metres.

My 3 word analysis of you old Dee

Always a negative

The Laurie thing, at least for me, is the fact that on a game in which we saw an All team effort, he didn't show enough.

It may be that he was good for the Goodwin system. Would he be that for this new system?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
