Whoever it was that was mowing their lawn after quarter time – you can come in now, all good! 🍻

Replay should be worth a watch.

It’s all part of posting here, highs and lows of the game. You can’t expect me to scream at the wife all afternoon 🤣

Sometimes I’m even embarrassed before I post.

First quarter is still a concern but the fight in the next three quarters can't be questioned.

Midfield lifted enormously in the second half, Pickett was magic and I didn't know Sparrow had that type of performance in his locker. Great ruckwork from Gawn and 15 tackles for Steele.

Lever turned back the clock and McDonalds still got it. I thought Howes was very impressive too.

And no matter what happens for the rest of the season it could be worse. You could always be a Carlton fan.

Suck a big one Cripps.

Strutting around like Grand Poobah in the first, trying to be a hero getting stuck in to Tholstrup early in the first when everything is going your way.

Nowhere to be seen in the second half you false hero. At least you got to see first hand what a real captain is capable of.

Is there a link to the Carlton forum? 🍿

I’m not usually bipolar but feeling that way after the game day thread

Character building win.
Awesome.

Sparrow looked like the player we all hoped he would become and as of a few days ago I thought would never be.

Tmac huge early in the game.

Jake Lever.

I gave you some stick last week.

This game and 2nd half in particular was his best game in a long time.

Looking forward to reading the gameday thread.

You'll see a lot of early comments about needing trac & Oliver back, there will be a lots of comments about players who are dumb & should be dropped oh & you may find a comment or 2 about getting rid of Goodwin to early.

Mmmmm, @picket fence has gone real quiet

K Pickett 820 metres gained.

Contract extension?

Career best game for me.

15 goals to 5 after Q time

Fair play to Kingy, obviously kept his nerve and stuck to the plan

The group will get so much out of that. When down, don’t panic. trust the process

I'm so glad I chose not to type anything. Now I can pretend I never lost faith!

Argh, I pulled the short straw and ended up stuck at work today.

Gutted I missed an incredible win and celebration for our x2 250 gamers.

Am I reading the stats sheet incorrectly? Or did Sparrow have 29 touches?

Team of clutch!

So bloody proud of the boys! Well done Kingy and co 👏👏

Jack Steele and Kozzie Pickett absolutely huge in the last quarter

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
