GAMEDAY: Rd 03 vs Carlton

TMac and Lever the only reason we’re not 10 goals down. This has been an abysmal half of footy. Neeld era stuff. We’ll be uncompetitive until we get a midfield. The kids aren’t ready or are being played out of position.

You're a real Demon now Checkers.

Like Steven King's ,Misery.

Fans shouldn’t be surprised that our midfield is going awfully. We don’t have one. It was always going to be a transition period.

Carlton’s strength is their midfield. For a team in our position, they’re a bad match up.

Broadie has been MELBOURNENISED.

To be expected when you remove your whole midfield, regardless if it was the right decision (which it was). Going to be a hard few years.

We are cooked. Similar start in the wet against this same mob a few years ago and we had a Petracca save us and lost by a point.

We aint coming back from this. Don’t care that Carlton have a bad second half record. We lost as soon as we gave up 6 goals and chasing tail AGAIN.

You know when the football is atrocious when the radio commentators aren’t talking about the game and just talk about random things and football is hardly mentioned.

I refuse to turn on kayo to watch, same as Fremantle game.

just play the vfl team next week

Why are both deep forwards leading to the boundary line of the FP?

Kolstrup looks good today with ball in hand.. one positive

just got home, excited to be able to watch the game on tv.....

the excitement did not last very long.

What the hell happened?

at least I saw out first goal.

I can assure you he hasn't been. Absolute spud. Stuck in concrete. Liability.

What ever confidence I had for win today quickly faded as soon as I saw Fritsch run on the ground wearing long sleeves.

Can’t believe the hangers on you, to actually want to watch. I refuse.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
