Does anyone think that he is an option to coach Melbourne?

Should be. Probably isn't.

He's coached Sandringham to the premiership year after year. It's hard to say he's no good.

To those who have seen a fair bit of Sandy over the past few years.

Would Mark Williams be a good (good enough) option to coach the MFC?

You could watch Sandy 100 times a week and you'd never be able to categorically say he would or wouldn't be a good coach.

Spot on!

MFC selection committee should interview him but not sure they will.

He was not an option for interim coach as his priority is to get Sandy to another GF. A coach who wins 4 premierships in a row at any level must have some coaching ability! He also handles himself well with supporters & media etc

I didn't see it, but was told that there was an interview with him at half time of the VFL coverage on Saturday where he said Paul Gardner asked him to apply and Mark said that he would.

I saw the interview and I didnt hear that part, but I did hear him say he was keen. Bring him on. The Leigh Matthews of the VFL.

He has also been in the MFC coaches box on game days through most of the last 2 years at least & so may be in a good position to have formed views on how he would take the young group on MFC list forward. He has coached most if not all of them on game day. So should apply and should be interviewed.

Conversely, he could also be held to be partly to blame for the poor outcome of MFC if he has had input in the coaching this year.

That is ridiculous, do you honestly believe that RR?

He should be in the mix after his successes at Sandringham. Don't agree with the glass half empty mentality RR given what he has done at Sandringham where he is in control!

I think he was just putting it out there as a possibility. We don't know how much, if any, input he has on match day. That is something only those in the box would know.

Exactly Brocky.

There some uninformed judgements being made about what goes on in the coaches box. While I do not necessarily hold my earlier view it would have the same validity as the comment about his contribution in the MFC coaches box......Probably little in real life!

I don't think he would have had a lot of say in the box on game day.

Agree. What is his title? Development coach?

I'd be suprised if he ever had input tactically on match day.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. We’re already a month into the MFC preseason (if you started counting when the younger players in the group began the campaign along with some of the more keen older heads)

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
