I don't recall.him looking this slow with us, perhaps coz other teams have so many quicker players out there....well we do now as well but Goodwin's teams were pretty slow the last couple of seasons

He was always slow, powerful but slow. He is also looking like a very lazy footballer. Hardly see him running unless GCS have the ball and he doesnโ€™t get to the right spots. Most of his possessions are from the contest.

What is obvious this year is the commentators are going to keep saying it was a good move, Trac was worth the first rounders blah blah.

The new ruck rule is farcical.

What's the bloody reason they introduced it in the first place? Wasn't it enough, just to change from a bounce to a ball up?

It's like every year someone who works for the AFL says "What's a new rule that I can make that will be hard for players to adapt to, is completely unnecessary and will infururiate supporters?" ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ˆ

grundy knows how to take advantage of the situation that is at hand

definitely going to get rules on the run with this garbage new approach to centre circle

This New Rule has already been shown up in 8 days....

If the AFL has any integrity, it will be deleted in the next 7 days.

Thank you Brodie...

Sorta leaves the ruck contest in the middle up to the "bent" of Umpires throwing up abilities.

Those dumb fcks down at Princes Park are celebrating like they won the flag. May as well build Jagger Smith an MCG statue while weโ€™re at it considering the carrying on.

The best feeling is reading Carlton Bigfooty after positive pre season cheers only to fold when the real things rolls around.

Sydney, Curnow and Richmond. Do us all a favor! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Most people were saying that about us in 2022

They were, but their talent is out of this world.

2x Top 2 draft picks (Ashcroft bro's - Thanks AFL) both maturing
McCluggage - an elite ball user, top 10 in the comp easily.
A gem in Logan, now supported by O. Allan
Andrews still going strong
Then the cherries on top in Z. Bailey, Wilmot, Lohman, Kiddy, Charlie, Fletcher

Oh and the 2x Brownlow in Lachie Neale.

They are stacked like the Lions of early 2000's.

The ladder says it all. This afternoon's game is crucial in the battle for supremacy in the Preseason. After that, we take things one week at a time.

Should already have it and this year would be the 4 peat.

I didnโ€™t realise how bad the ruck rule is. So if the ball is thrown slightly to one side, one ruck canโ€™t compete for the ball?

eg, the grundy example

They have already been robbed of a 2nd 3peat thanks to some very questionable umpires in 2023 against Pies.

Agree. And they certainly get a leg up with the father son and academy

No, once itโ€™s pointed out that theyโ€™re behaving like [censored] they should bring everybody up onto the same page

if anyone gets a chance to have a look at quarter time kick after the siren in the Hawthorn V Bulldogs game โ€“ itโ€™s a bit of a laugh.

Interesting call

Buddy Franklin would never have kicked a goal after the siren if that was the rule. You have always been able to run towards the boundary to make the angle more acute.

I'm enjoying Ken hinkleys special comments. I'm sure he's probably enjoying it & less stressful than the coaches box

The AFL have created a monster in the Lions.

If Brisbane do a 3x peat its knowhere near the achievement of the 2000's 3x peat.

The talent they have been gift wrapped with these academy selections which have diluted these latest flags.

Im not even mentioning the father and son selections because that is the luck of the draw.

Its why the AFL competition is truely farcical.

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the โ€˜G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? All the build-up, discussion, and in-game reactions here. Go Dees.

Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competitionโ€™s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
