I think he will be more versatile than Sam was, reckon he'll be our regular full forward if not this season then in 27 and beyond. Fritta will play high half or forwardpocket. He has the advantage over most because he has forward craft and just needs more continuity.

Based on what?

Gosh, he was disappointing on Friday.

Whilst JVR wasn’t great, he was regularly leading up to the ball. I may be incorrect but I didn’t see Jeffo leading

Very harsh. He gets in good places..he def tackled hard & he is a smart player. The forward line is new ..they’ll take awhile to gel & work together but I’m def not writing him off. He’s def never going to be our No 1 big forward but there is a place for him.

I didn't see Jeffo doing anything at all

A place where? JVR, Mihocek and Fritsch are walk up starts, Kentfield is way ahead. Can't see him being contracted beyond this year

I have zero interest in arguing whether a 21 yr old forward player is going to make it. If he was 23/24 I might give you some interest but the penchant for supporters like you to write off /dismiss players (especially tall key position players) so early in their career is laughable. I can tell already that you def weren’t at the game yesterday so maybe I’ll give you some leeway because the rather inadequate TV coverage certainly didn’t give you the same “viewings” of the match

I’m not sure on Jeff still. Not saying he won’t get there but I haven’t seen flashes of brilliance, same with JVR. Haven't seen something where I was able to see that they would be guns one day. Probably liken them to Weiderman at this stage.

I see you have zero interest in arguing the matter then spend considerable time arguing the matter.

Makes perfect sense.

Give me Kentfield any day.

He actually looks as if he enjoys the physical stuff unlike Jefferson

He turns 22 in 2 weeks. It's his 4th year on the list.

One would have to be delusional to not realise this is his make or break year.

Not to mention out of contract.

JVR’s 5th year. These two aren’t babies anymore, have to show something

I want Jefferson to succeed.

I also want him to do what Kentfield is doing at the moment (contest)

I missed Fridays game and haven't watched the replay. He would be hugely disappointed, in his RAW stats and not knowing what his role was one can conjecture what the coaches made of his game. As much as I want him to do well Kentfield and Moose are busy shoring themselves into round 1. I'm backing him to bounce back Next Friday vs Tiges, and he simply must fire a shot next week or pressure will mount. Love what Luker and Moose bring to the table.

Not sure how much the absence of brody impacted his game. He automatically got the best north defender

Well Look I hope u r correct. I would like the boy to succeed. Surely the plethora of forward line coaches could work out his best approach. But on Friday he looked lost, and when he had a couple of genuine marking chances he fluffed them

I sincerely hope that Jeffo makes the grade, but like Sam W he doesn't seem to thrive for the contest, which is essential.

Very little to get enthused about.

So far a cross between Lucas Cook & Michael Newton.

I get Brent Grgic vibes from him.

Or he could be like Bailey Laurie, who turns 24 in a few weeks and has been on the list all this time, while showing realitively little as a small running type at senior level. I did actually notice him execute a few nice passes on the game against North, so you never know, maybe he'll break through at senior level yet.

I'd think that Jeffo would get at least a 1 year extension as a tall if he continues to improve, but fails to have an out and out break-out season. Be interesting to see how he and JVR work in with Mihocek later in the season, although at some point they both need to step-up and take the load of being the key forwards on their shoulders alone.

Wayne Carey was once asked if he earned the nickname "Duck" because of his unusual gait.

He reputedly replied "Nah, it's because of the funny way I walk".

Wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed.

I watched the second half on replay and Jefferson was responsible for ensuring the ball came to ground in 3-4 contents where there was several North defenders. He hit the contest hard and two of those resulted in shots at goal. He also laid some good tackles, and made some long, continued chases as North defenders ran the ball out of our forward half. He looked to be playing with more intensity. It wasn't consistent across the game, but for those complaining that he isn't hard enough at the content, I saw steps in the right direction from him in that regard.

On Bailey, he has always been able to execute a few nice passes. That seems to be his major strength. If he is to stay on the list he needs to develop a few more strings to the bow... the way Nibbler did. He needs high level endurance, and I think he is near that mark. He needs to be a tackle machine... showing some signs, and he needs to kick goals... average 1.5 a game. I hope he can show those skills at senior level. Its now or never!
