It wouldn’t matter what the club says about this type of reporting, it’s always gonna happen. It’s how these people make their money. But this particular incident should serve as a reminder that you can’t automatically take what anyone in the media says as gospel.

So call him out as a liar. Ban him from MFC media conferences. Make a stand. Do something, or it keeps happening. Make them accountable.

This has happened before!

Someone out there with a better memory or research skills please sooth my itch.

I believe it was Petracca.

Was Fritsch breaking up another fight when Petracca bit him?

He’ll simply say it’s what he’s been told. Apparently they don’t have to divulge their sources. The big question as far as the Frittas are concerned is who leaked the incident to the media?

This would make us seem extremely defensive and it would turn into a story in itself. Pick your battles wisely when dealing with people that by ink by the barrel and all that jazz

Starts by saving he underwent "surgery" then ends with saying it was a clean-out. Better of calling that a procedure, not surgery. Players would have that sort of thing done all the time.

Likely will be written up as a culture issue and disharmony amongst the fritta household.

Why were Bayley’s dogs eating at Entrecôte anyway…

Lucky we're not playing this weekend if there's anything into this story.

After a sub par second half of 2024 and first half of 2025, I thought he was back to near his best in the second half of 2025 and will be an important piece on Sunday week.

For god's sake what a dumb thing to happen. Seriously dogs just get the hose on to them don't stick your hands in that's like putting your hands in a toaster to get something out while its still on.

Bye bye doggies, farewell, nice to know you (I do love dogs but don't mess with our players please)

I'm inclined to give the dog a clearance.

Purely for interest's sake. What breed are they?

I’m just curious, if someone puts their hand into a toaster that’s on, do you then blame the toaster in this scenario? 😂

An update .... anyone?

In particular Jai, Checker, and AMW.

Doesn't appear to be any word from the club.

An intra-club this weekend? Apology if mentioned elsewhere.

Bit dumb not to go to a doctor after getting a dog bite.

Have you not read anything I’ve said in this thread? If you wanna believe Sam Edmunds, go right ahead, but maybe don’t bore everyone with comments like the above which are unnecessary and repetitive.

Facts:

He called the club doctor immediately after it happened.

The club doctor attended to him, washed out the two tiny puncture (not much bigger than a pinhead) marks and gave him antibiotics.

There was NEVER an infection

He went back to the club doctor this morning to have it checked. He’s fine.

This morning I said to Fritta’s mum that this report implies Fritta is irresponsible in that he thought it was no biggie and let time go by ‘til an infection set in. She said she likes to think people who read it will know there’s always the possibility that it’s a bunch of bs. Seems she thought wrong.

Did Judd McVee tell you this?

Thanks - did the boys train today?

Cheap shot. If a mainstream journalist reports something like this I believe it's important for the Club to clarify the matter, whether it is true or not. Our comms team have definitely lifted their game this year but they still need to be more agile on matters like this, which is important football information for supporters - particularly at this time of the year when the Club is, or should be, building our membership numbers.

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
