The dogs are a couple of schmackos lighter after Michael Christian’s review.

He suspended Jeremy Howe’s dogs for a similar act all those years ago. Typical.

It wasn’t as serious as your experience, BAMF. It wasn’t even serious.

Incidentally, in case anyone is wondering… neither dog was badly hurt. No rushing to the vet was needed as has been the case a couple of times in the past.

Might be come to separate those dogs, seems like they have beef, either that or they thought Frittas hand was beef

Haha. Not even stitches. That’s the update.

But can he comb his hair?

Fine for round 1 and should train this week with a glove or guard

Why would you have two dogs that fight like Cat and Dog?? Arrr wait a minute!

If he does miss, which I doubt he does, Melky can come in for him.

He ain't missing games for a couple of stitches.

If @Ghostwriter mail is correct which I'm sure it is.

Maybe even a Frittata?

No doubt it would have been to get the wound properly cleaned and closed, to ensure that there was no chance of a serious infection such as the one that made Petracca miss a round due to an infected finger having had it bitten by his dog in 2018.

Surely you're not being serious? According to Demonland groupthink, because a Melbourne player is the victim, there is no way the miscreants will be suspended.

Gotta be careful with those dogfights my brother in law did similar in a park once looked down and the top of his finger was missing!

It’s complicated.

Seriously? It’s the dogs fault??

Well I know it wasn't me who bit him, officer.

Now I'm having flashbacks to a police transcript which included the line "Yeah, and they sewed my nipple back on"

Get well soon, Fritta. It could be worse.

Not even stitches were needed. Two small puncture marks on the back of his hand. He’s gonna be fine for round one.

How is Matt Jefferson tracking? Any updates

And is checkers available for rnd 1

So the report from Sam Edmund that Bayley had undergone surgery was factually incorrect? If that is the case, the club needs to come out and make a strong statement that reporting lies is not acceptable. We have taken enough from these media clowns in the past 3 years, and it's time to hit back

Its much like the broader media landscape these days. Completely lacking in journalistic integrity. Its sole aim is about the click/view.

It wouldn’t matter what the club says about this type of reporting, it’s always gonna happen. It’s how these people make their money. But this particular incident should serve as a reminder that you can’t automatically take what anyone in the media says as gospel.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.
