It won't be easy but NOW is the time.

This club is close to its knees but these young women could light the torch that shows us the way from the gloom.

Whatever happens they have won our respect.

Go Dees

Well Mick's got his work cut out for him this week bringing down these roos.

But why not us? We can beat them if we go in with belief. Our captain will do her bit, others just need to help her.

Big game for Tayla, if she can get her marking & kicking game going then that will help

I think the reason they did that is because every time they posted AFLW related stuff on their regular Facebook page they got inundated with angry incel posts from misogynistic supporters say they don't want to see the content about women. Sad little men.....

If I was in the Dees admin and this happened - I would tell them to post more content from the women’s team.

If anyone who hasn’t seen Tayla Harris’ doco on Amazon Prime - check it out if you can - there is an extended scene about her watching the Dees flag in 2021 and what it means to her.

We are so far away from that being a reciprocal feeling at this club that it is not funny.

It’s infuriating.

I hear what you're saying but the club can't logistically employ someone solely to monitor the socials for d-ckheads 24/7 removing inappropriate comments.

I've used the Kick Like Tayla documentary in my Year 11 Media class, so I'm fully aware of it.

I disagree with you with in that the club itself is not reciprocal. Maybe amongst some d-ckhead fans, but not with the playing group. There have been several men coming to see the women's side play in recent weeks.

Bare. Minimum.

But we have been celebrating blokes doing that forever.

I've never felt more relaxed in the lead-up to a Prelim! It's quite bizarre really.

It's fun to be the underdog. It's fun to have this challenge. It's fun to have the opportunity to give it a crack and see what happens with no expectations just belief that we're building something special.

just realised i'll be at a three hour dance performance the entire duration of the game

there goes plans of being in attendance

seeing as all i've seen since 2022 are losing finals, probably for the best!

kayo on the footy and the cricket is going to be getting a workout; one ipad and one phone at the ready...

If BOM predicts sunshine I predict rain.

For the gamblers out there Melbourne are ridiculous odds at $9. I don’t think the agencies know how to set the odds properly on AFLW. North are great but you shouldn’t see odds like that in a prelim both sides deserve to be there

Um, I'm not so sure.

The roos' record is phenomenal, and they look a cut above all teams.

A small pool no doubt, so could possiblt drop to $8 or $7, but $9 is not miles off (i just checked - they are out to 9.50).

But it would make a win more epic.

I hope we double down, and lean into our chain up handball outside game.

As we saw against port and the hawks, whilst that method is def suspect against the sort of pressure the roos will bring, realistically it's too late in the day to change how we play.

And if we get into a physical battle and try to beat the roos at their own game they'll completely smash us.

Play with the freedom of being a massive underdog.

All out attack and hope we can put some scoreboard pressure on them.

The pressure is on them not us.

Totally agree Binman. North are amazing but have everything to lose.

There was something about that second half that you could just sense that the self belief set in that they can roll anyone.

We have to play our game and play it incredibly well.

I've never been so excited for a final since the granny in 2021.

There's a freedom about this team that makes me feel they can steal the flag from here.

The last time we played North was in round 3 last year. It was at Casey on an extremely windy afternoon. It was Banno’s 50th game - she was, and still is, the youngest player to reach 50 games - and we all wore these t-shirts…

They humiliated us. They beat us by 50pts.

This time will be different ❤️💙

Given North will be the "home" team, I'm assuming they will be in the Carlton rooms on the southern side of the ground. As such where will the Demon Army/our cheer squad be located? I'm thinking I probably won't sit in my usual Princess Park location as I'm not keen on dealing with the previously referenced feral North fans, and find the prospect of at least sitting near some decent, upstanding citizens decked out in red and blue much more appealing. 😇

We’ll be on the other side of the ground this week, in either the Gardiner Stand or the Heroes Stand. Map below.

Just look for flags and floggers and a bunch of noisy people. 🤩

Captain’s run tomorrow morning at 10:30am at Gosch’s. Our last chance to give the girls our love and support before gameday. It would be great to see supporters there. ❤️💙

Thanks. I know that's where the "visitors" change rooms are, but I wasn't too sure if the general public is allowed into that area, it always seems so sparsely populated when I look across from the other side of the ground!

For the first time ever I have this season taking an interest in the women's game. I have watched 6 games of the Dees this season and a number of quarters of other teams so that makes me an expert! Ha ha. We will not win this game why? Position by position the Roos are superior. They will drop a game sometime after winning ever game for more than 2 seasons. To win we need every player at the top of their game and the Roos to have a game off their normal. Sometimes teams just have an off game. That IMO is our only hope. Having said all that the Roos will win by 5 goals.

Stoked about the Ins, bummer though Taylor and Gall have to step aside for them. That can’t have been a fun conversation for Mick.

Yeah, I’m sad for Dingo and GG but someone had to go 😕

Avg. games experience of selected teams (median):

Melb: 55.2 (59.0)

North: 66.1 (63.0)

(This is our most experienced team of the season, the lowest was 37.3 in Round 3)

The Roos have 2 players with 35 games and under, the Dees have 7.

Premiership players selected teams:

Melb: 14

North: 18

Median 2025 avg. fantasy score selected teams:

Melb: 54.1

North: 58.2

After having 1-5 players available outside the selected 21 all season, we've hit peak availibility this week, with 8 fit players left out of the team.

Congrats to Goldrick on her 8th All Ireland All Star team selection (possibly 9th based on EMac's fact check in the insta comments!) https://www.instagram.com/p/DRIw8VKEokK/

I am quite bemuzed by the lack of mainstream media interest in the two prelim games. Second day draft is getting more time. We are also competing with the ashes.

We know how to win! It has been the brand of our women for many seasons.

Go Dees!

If you can look into the seeds of time, and say which grain will grow and which will not, speak then to me
