Farewell Clayton Oliver

To have some animus toward the admin I can understand but that comment sh1ts in the face of fans. No bueno.

People say silly things when they're hurt.

Perhaps the Pies want GWS to use up their early draft pick or perhaps the PIES might pay his full wage plus give us a sh.tty pick.

Imagine being the 14th best side in the competition and paying $500K plus for a 4 x B&F winner to play for a top 4 side. You can't make up the incompetence of this club.

One can only agree. It's sickening. And if the gormless, incoherent King is seen as the instigator of this travesty he begins his tenure well behind the eight ball. 'Fiasco' doesn't adequately define what has unfolded at Melbourne.

I'll tell you what is infinitely more immature and ridiculous than what Clarry did in that video

pretending he isn't a MFC legend just because he's leaving and clearly upset about how it's happened

205 games

premiership player

3 x All Australian

2 x AFLCA player of the year

4 x club best and fairest

He has earned the respect of all real MFC fans.

he likes collingwood better????

FFS.....

Ok I am done. Loved this bloke, but that is a dagger in the [censored] heart, especially with all we did to look after and protect this bloke.

No more....

Okay time to take his badge off my scarf I think

Already removed from favourites ..

Clarry... never thought you were an Einstein but thought you a genuine chap... just...a few issues.

Back to remembering 13 as Ooze 😉

Just as an aside ...cast your minds back ..

Who ( players ) were only happy enough to laugh and joke with the arch enemy ??

Hmm

Sending love and thoughts to all DL and Melbourne supporters.

These days are so so tough to deal with.

Would rather he star for GWS than Pies.

Couldn’t stand it if he went to Pies, played well, and cop it from the feral supporters.

Go GWS, give us a better trade 👏

This is typical Clarry. No one is surprised.

A pity the club didn't have the cajónes to move him on last year.

He will always be a legend of the club. I bear him no ill will

It also hopefully gets rid of that stupid myth on here that he is so much more morally superior and committed to the club than Trac is.

He's cleaning up the mess and starting the reset we badly need.

The gleeful told you so’s are pretty pathetic too but not unexpected

He is a legend of this club and we don’t win a flag without him

He’s immature and he has a lot of challenges, something that nobody here has denied either

His reaction after his meeting with King and again today is the reaction of someone with limited impulse control, and big emotions that they don’t know how to handle.

It is heartbreaking to see his career at our club ending this way, because it does a massive disservice to his achievements and everything our club gave him over the journey

I didn't either. I was wishing he would not go, and was happy to move on from the troubles he has had. One of my favourites...

until the collingwood remark...

That is unforgivable

I agree about Oliver but Kozzie’s last two years of gradually building up midfield time have been super impressive. His clearance numbers and even pressure in there is great. If he stops these dinky little upwards kicks into the forward line that rarely come off and starts drilling his passes he’ll be elite. I think his running patterns are really quite good.

One would hope he stays away from motorbikes......

Let’s not get too carried away by that “they are better than Melbourne” swipe. In its literal sense - and I’m sure that’s how he answered it- he is correct. The Pies are a better side than the Dees for the past few years. No arguments there.

One day Clarry might suddenly wake up to the fact that he is the sole reason he is being let go - his behaviour and now being somewhat of a dinosaur in the modern game. I doubt he has yet, but I live in hope that one day he will.

I just think back to max trying to help him by taking him in.

Look we know Clayton is never going to be launching rockets. If he goes to Collingwood at least he'll be able to communicate with there fans. But personally I think gws would be better. Get him out of Melbourne

He's probably annoyed we've ditched him.

Anyway whatever.

He's clearly very thick as a person. But he's a great footballer. It's sad that the off field issues have led to this.

He has been booted out of the football club… most of us would be feeling the same if you were in his position.

Firstly I don’t accept he was “booted” out, he was finally challenged (as opposed to coddled by Goody) and he threw his toys out of the cot like a petulant 2 year old.

Secondly, it’s ok to be upset, it’s another thing to spit in the eyes of the people who cared for you (supporters, Gawny) on the way out the door.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
