We're safe, then. Gaz'll 'overlook' the Dees. In particular, Grundy'll be acknowledged for his '25 season.

I heard on the news that the players will be paid from $20,000 to $45,000 for this game. If any of our players put their hand up I reckon we should all chip in to pay them the same amount to NOT play 🤣

I was was stuck in a huge traffic jam this afternoon not all that far from AFL House. Nothing was moving.

Suddenly, a man knocked on my window.

I rolled down the window and asked “What is going on?”.

“Anti-State Of Origin activists have kidnapped the entire AFL Commission and they’re asking for a $50 million ransom. Otherwise, they’re going to douse them all in petrol and set them on fire. We’re going from car to car, collecting donations”.

“How much is everybody giving, on average?” I asked him.

The man replied “Roughly five litres”.

I'm trying hard to keep my apathy in check.

I'm starting to love AFLX

In hindsight it was better than what they've rolled out...

State of Origin, Indigenous game, Opening round, Gather round, Wildcard round

PLEASE STOP

meanwhile country football is dying...

AFL Victoria announced on Monday that its “regional administrative centre model” – brought in based on recommendations made in 2011 – would be scrapped after AFL Barwon decided to exit the program and go it alone.

Barwon joined AFL Sunraysia, AFL Gippsland, AFL Goldfields, AFL Western District, AFL Central Murray and AFL Wimmera Mallee in quitting the program, with leagues under those six regional administrative centres (RACs) returning to self-management.

Now AFL South East, AFL North East Border, AFL Barwon, AFL Central Victoria and AFL Goulburn Murray will make the same transition.

I'm aware I'm in the minority with this but I'm happy to see it back.

Is it perfect? No. However representative football is something that has been lost to the game and in my opinion the effect has been detrimental. Much like the under 18s carnival, the chance for the best players to play and train with each other inevitably makes them better players.

For the fans who care, it's a chance to change it up and support some players you would usually hate and see how it feels. It's just another angle of viewing the game which has sadly not been there for a long time.

Players could get injured sure, players can get injured in any game especially when they keep adding them to the fixture. I've said it before but I would prefer this to a round zero, gather round and wildcard round. Again, I'm aware at how much people are against it and I understand a lot of their reasons, I just happen to like it.
