We should have both if not for the AFL.

GC would be fancying their chances against a wounded Brisbane next week...

Are all the GC supporters the same WC ones that barracked for us in the 2021 GF?

Don't knock our "19th man" 🤣

FFS.. needed Fremantle to win as I believe they are the most capable to beat the scum at the G come Prelim time.

Don’t think the wounded Brisbane can do the job as we saw what inexperience did to GWS in 2017 when they met Richmond with 98% of the crowd going for the home team- they crumbled.

Suck that up Freo.

You steal our players and game plan but zero flags for you 🤭

Hey Essendon, the last time you won a final the Gold Coast Suns didn't exist.

Gold Coast used them for a great confidence building warm-up against a VFL side last week too.

Fair play to GC. It only took 350 1st round draft picks.

I can't stand Hardwick.

Rough free kick.

Yes what is the rule? The Suns guy took possession then gets tackled and the ball jars free but the tackler takes him away from the ball. It’s not holding the ball as he had no prior and not incorrect disposal but why is it holding the man when he had the ball?

I think it's the continuation of the tackle. As soon as the ball is free the defender must release the man. Not easy to call but I think the holding was there.

I don't respect them at all. They are gifted tax payer money simply for the privilege of being in a voting belt held by the dominating party of the last half century. On top of that, all of the shenanigans they pull to get players there. It's blatantly shady. Players suddenly walking into large multimillion dollar properties. Partners suddenly in high paying jobs in the region. Players consistently taking far, FAR below their market value to a degree only seen there. Even Collingwood has their contract challenges. Somehow Geelong manages to re-sign stars on minimum wage. Yeah right! They've been doing it since the 90s and imo it really kicked into gear during the Thompson years. [censored] them.

I don’t disagree their home ground/training base has received 140mill very political yet they wouldn’t find space for our home base in the Olympic park district, 3rd party deals who knows & if true they should be stripped of their flags!

Bottom line we can’t deny our club stability has been poor!

He hung on too long (just)

The AFL are having a wet dream with an all Queensland final at the Gabba next week.

It's good for the afl in Brisbane & on the Gold Coast because the Gold coast titans aren't playing finals, the cowboys aren't & the dolphins aren't. Only the broncos. After tonight's win they should get the coverage

Freo a chance to sack JL?

Absolutely. That was a massive chance blown. Home final, huge 19th man advantage and still managed to fluff it

Time to turn off now before First Cråp with Larry, Mo and Curly comes on.

Probably not, but seriously, what a disappointment they are.

With a list that stacked they should be in prelims, not struggling to make finals and then eliminated first week.

Tbh they were lucky to be a chance in the last quarter. GC outworked them all around the ground for 3 quarters.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
