Brad Green is just as much of the problem - don't let anyone tell you otherwise. CEO or not, this club has needed to remove Goodwin since two straight sets finals exits.

We continually do not hold people to account for performance. The same players keep getting games, the same staff keep doing their job poorly. Tim Lamb's record of recruiting players from other clubs outside of May, Lever and Langdon is god awful in the 10 + years he's been at the helm.

Interim or not, decisions have to be made and this rhetoric about Goodwin not being the problem is complete and utter nonsense. Fish rots at the head, and the club is devoid of any leadership.

Again, as I said earlier in the year: we do not hold people to account for their performance, coaching, recruitment or players. It is a complete farce and a very sad state of affairs.

I really don't understand the point of the letter if it's not discussing change or impact. Telling us you care and the club has standards is a given. I don't know who is giving the executive team advice on this sort of stuff. They write the letter for a a vocal minority who say things like "Where is our President" and "What is the board doing?". If they react after every bad loss we'd have 20 coaches a decade. Sunday was certainly unique and demanded a response in some way but honestly it would have been better to put together some sort of video from the captain or coach talking about the game and what went wrong. Letters like this are just "big daddy" coming along for the sake of it. I don't get it.

Brad Green is a running joke No idea The letter treated members as [censored]. I m so happy he is only interim

Did not need to refer to the alleged threat in my view. It may have been entirely unrelated to Goodwins coaching or tenure at the MFC Just deflection

Brad should wake up soon. He is going to carry the can and will be sacrificed by the people who really run the club

The club absolutely had to stand up to the online threats against Goodwin that went too far, which Green's letter did. IMHO this is the only reason he wrote the letter.

Unfortunately the lion's share of supporters including myself were looking for the club to (also) make some sort of a statement on how the club will respond as a whole (incl. board) to a particularly devestating result in a season of ongoing disappointments that compounds on the 0-5 start we had to the year. The standards you walk past are the standards you're willing to accept. The letter merely acknowledging frustration and that the "Board and I are committed to doing everything required to have our AFL program performing at the level we all expect" doesn't really cut it.

Guys, relax, you're missing the point of the email. They ACKNOWLEDGE that we're not up to standard!

They're just like you and me, they are also very cranky. stomps foot - so very, very cranky, and it makes them want to just scream.

OK!? It's been acknowledged and they're cranky like you and me so we can all rest easy. It's not like we have already had a review into the club, because we weren't up to standard last year, and this year was supposed to be a bounce back into contention...

May I just ask what did people want Brad Green to say in that letter that wasn’t included? I.e. was there not enough focus on how [censored] the performance was? Was it glossing over how angry the fans are?

Not defending it, just curious as to what people wanted him to be saying so close to the loss.

(Obviously outside of ‘we are sacking X’ as that’s probably a process that is difficult with out a President/CEO in place or without consultation in implementing a process to be able to tee up a coach)

Agree 100% - there's not much to say right now. Decisions have to be made, but they can't be made without the new president / CEO in place and it would make us look like we're panicking off field in the same way we did on field in the last quarter (and particularly the last 8 seconds).

So maybe it's better to say nothing? But then we have supporters / media saying we're hearing crickets from the president / the club and that obviously means they're ok with this result.

It's a no win position for Brad and the board. At a minimum he's saying the performance is not up to scratch (duh) and setting the foundations for change. Whereas last year a trade of Oliver / Trac was off the table... it seems like those sorts of things won't be this time round. (Maybe Goody too... but who knows)

We're all p!ssed off right now - but a knee [censored] reaction / statement will make us even less attractive for prospective players, coaches, other staff who WE NEED to attract to get better.

Basically Goody is staying , we are going to continue on our losing ways ! As I have said before perhaps the senior players do not want him as coach. We have so many premiership players in our team yet we are near the bottom of the ladder. I don't believe that players cannot adapt to different ways we play football. Sacrifices need to be made NOW otherwise we be in the doldrums for ever.

It has a distinct 1968 vibe , four years after a flag, Premiership heroes still on tve list, poor coaching, poor administation stretching into tge abyss.

Drastic long term action required.
