We will lose this game. Just you watch.

I'm actually fearing the headlines in this one.

Fearing some personal ridicule in this contest from other supporters particularly Crows ones.

There is a saying in the UK when it comes to Football teams when the are mid table and safe with 4-5 games to go with no threat of relegation (they are on the beach) meaning they are on holidays already just going through the motions.

another negative-$ return - you need what 30K to break even at that joint even though we own a 13th of it (the northern teams are paid for by the AFL and Geelong never pays for any ground it plays on).

I reckon 15K will rock up.

Can we sell the game to the WA Govt like North did?

It won't matter that we lose rather we make a $!

We'll get 9k on Saturday arvo 1.10 kids footy at that time etc.

Plus our current predicament.

I tend to agree with this crowd of 9K.

Seems absurd that we could get a crowd that low in modern day footy.

However, we got just 8,900 in 2015 V GWS at Marvel despite the supporter fan base developing some hope and confidence in the team for the first time in years.

Fast forward 10 years later and we are at an absolute low ebb in terms of disillusionment in the players, coach and club overall.

Words have truly escaped me.

I wonder what the crowd will be next week - against West Coast at Marvel early Saturday afternoon.

Any motivation I have to attend that game has currently been zapped out of me, this might change by Saturday but gee whiz.

Ok so I have mellowed a bit since Sunday night, I don't want to see the media get stuck into us again, so I will go this Saturday just to add +1 to the attendance.

Why was Spargo back? Did barely anything !!! Why was Sparrow back?? He was knocked out!!! Why was Petty back in ?? He did little at Casey.

I thought they’d at least give Johnson a game.

Goody loves playing his favourites

I will be surprised if we get that many. Entry should be free to all levels and we still would'nt get 15k.

Was amped for the next installment of this, damn it Harley

My Granddaughter is playing basketball near that time, you can bet the bank of England on where I will be and it won't be anywhere near comic park.

We should match West Coast quality outs so we will then be on a level playing field. To be managed (don't want to hurt players feeling by dropping them) Trac,Oliver,Fritsch,Gawn .... you get the picture.

I am surprised we are not 8-1 for the match.

Actually wasn’t going to go to this as I had plans, but now am not only going but taking my nephew and niece and father.

Going to show my support and will not be one of those who drop off when the going gets tough. Will be there supporting my boys through thick and thin no matter what

Don't worry too much about the crowd. There was clearly no more than 15K at Sunday's game, but the official attendance was 22,570. Even with 10K this week, the AFL will still report 15K-16K.

Can't understand the hate for Spargo he ran onto the ground and did a bone crunching tackle.

I really wonder what Sparrow does. He must do something but why Windsor gets subbed off before him is a mystery

What did he do with the kick? Was it advantageous to the side ? Did it show an awareness of the time left?

Your attendance just ensured a 4 figure result roy11. 900 eagles and 100 Dees.

Harley Reid out for rest of the season.

No McGovern, Oscar Allen, Waterman, Sheed, Yeo, Jack Graham.

They’ve got us where they want us:

Our complacent best 🥴

That gets us to above 5 goals closer to the weagles.

We'll win this game by 10 goals plus, take it to the bank. All those players who went missing in the last quarter will be up and about, the coach will be upbeat and adventurous and we will kick straight when it matters least.

The media spotlight will move elsewhere next week and we'll revert back to our usual form for the remainder of the season.

I hope you didn't hurt yourself when you fell out of bed poita!

Hooray we will beat the worst team in the competition missing half of their best players. What a feat.

Absolute disgrace that we are even contemplating not smashing them!

After Sunday nothing is impossible after losing the unloseable JNM. How often do we smash teams? In the last few weeks it took us 3 quarters to shake off North who then get pulverized by the Cats. Watching the players after the pies loss, then the first saints loss then Sunday I think they have checked out for 2025. They don't show any signs of frustration just hang dog looks.

Last year Windsor look like hed play 15 years as a wingman. Goodwin put paid to that.

This. He’s been “Melbourned” ( a phrase from a previous dark era ). And we run the risk of doing the same to McVee, Langford, and XL.

Change needs to happen before we kill off the rebuild.

West Coast:

One win 18 defeats.

No Reid, no Allen and no Waterman.

If we can't take out these ultra low-flying Eagles, Goodwin's credibility will surely be shot for good.

Only a Goodwin team could make a mediocre St Kilda side look like a steamroller cracking nuts.

Only big changes in the FD will achieve that frankie_d. We are a club who has not had a CEO for almost 12 months and a stand in President while we wait for a retired guy to enjoy retirement for 6 months. I am not convince Smith wanted the job but had to be talked into it. The road ahead looks very bleak. Getting beaten on Saturday may not be the worst thing that could happen to us. The worst might actually be to win and maintain the status quo.

I know alot of posters don't like gambling and there was a thread that. But...

You can get $8's on West Coast. That's insane in a 2 horse race when both horses need a Fine Cotton like scam to win

Smith will be fantastic. Accomplished lawyer, seriously good (200-games) player in his day, totally committed Demon who is routinely at the G (except for this year obviously) with a strong network and MCC links where he was on the committee for close to 20 years and a proven chairman (MCC four years ).

We couldn't have a better incoming president right now. Hopefully the same is true of Paul Guera.

Well Wrecker very true but you have dated yourself. I thought only ancient ones like me remember that one

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
