It’s hard to take the Deebrief seriously.

One of them has stopped watching games, yet still pontificates about what the club should do.

One of them says he prefers watching the soccer.

Every time someone drops the “F bomb”, they all giggle like school kids.

I have warmed up to these guys over the course of the year, but they're a tough listen after a loss, let alone 5 in a row.

Pass

I'd hire Nathan Buckley just to [censored] Eddie McGuire off.

Carlton did that when they hired Malthouse. didn't work out too well for them.

Some horrific superiority complexes here.

Some very passionate dees fans doing what they love. Provide content (invaluable for overseas fans like myself) for basically $0. Pile on is unnecessary.

If any of the guys are reading - keep being authentic. I love your work as much as I love Andy, George and Binman. Don't have to agree to appreciate 👏 👏 👏

Yes, we should have more content.

I'd rather listen to fellow Dees supporters than the legacy media and their BS.

I enjoy both Demonland and the Deebrief, each has their unique style.

You can say what you want about Adrian at the Deebrief. Agree with him or not. He is more than willing to debate his point of view with anyone who gives him the time, so I say good on him!

He represents his generation of Melbourne supporters perfectly. I’m about the same age. We aren’t as jaded as the older rusted ons, but have enough MFCSS to get it.

The boys are passionate and vocal and have given the fan base on online presence that is otherwise silent. Much like the “Dees Podcast” did back in 2015.

I admire these guys for their commitment but their opinions are no more valid than some of the bitter, doomsaying Dees fans I already avoid.

In fact, to call them superficial, lightweight , knee-[censored] and reactive about sums them up.

But they care and if you need someone to vent on your behalf, these blokes will get the job done.

Just don't expect anyone to take it too seriously.

(And maybe I'm getting old but could they lay off the F-bombs?)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed as though The DeeBrief guys were having a crack at Goody for not playing Nathan Jones in the GF. Didn't NJ leave the Perth hub during the '21 grand final week to be with his wife who was about to give birth to twins?

Also, while I agree that change is desperately needed, can we please never consider Nathan Buckley as the coach of the Melbourne Football Club ever again?

True, but I think the decision to leave was only finally crunched when he was told he would not be in the GF side.

First time I’ve listened. It’s pretty harmless. Not the best nor the most vitriolic I’ve heard or read.

They do represent a subset of the supporter base so their opinion is as worthy as any other diehard fan.

If you want to listen to a great poddy give the AFLW DeeBrief a go. It will resume just prior to the start of the season.

That's the key word, care.

I'd rather have "negative" supporters that at least come to the games week in week out.

Or that pay their membership year on year.

Just look at Richmond, where's everybody now that they are rebuilding?

I try to listen to as much content as possible.

We have actually lost a couple of poddies in the last few years.

Now we only have Demonland and the Deebrief.

I guess you could include Caden but he is more than just Dees content.

Had he been selected he wouldn’t have gone home. He said this at a prematch function in Perth. He also said he can see himself as our head coach in “two or three years.”

That's correct, Jonesy would've stayed if he knew he was playing.

At least I remember him expressing this.

I don't mind the deebrief pod. Sometimes when I feel like listening to a quick rant about the club it definitely helps.

I like it when they have Cados on. He actually sees the game pretty well and he's usually pretty optimistic.

One thing Demonland can learn from this pod is the length. 1hr episodes are a lot more digestible than 2.5hr shows.

Out of all the passionate nonsense these guys were dribbling on this podcast, I nearly crashed my car when they all agreed Buckley was the ideal Goodwin replacement. How many coaches have won premierships coaching their second team this century?

I get some supporters find this stuff cathartic, but 95% of the conversation either contradicted something said earlier in the pod, or just made no rational sense whatsoever.

I don't get the hate. These guys do the pod voluntary every week, they're pumping out 2-3 pieces of content on average just purely for our enjoyment and love of the Dees.

I don’t think the Demonland pod can learn ANYTHING from the Deebrief. Vice versa perhaps…….a bit of sophisticated analysis rather than vapid attempts at humour.

gee some of you lot sound like a good time.. although i don't enjoy listening to all the cast of the deebrief, i love that there is a another space to allow for a variety of opinions and vibes. adrian had done a great job keeping the show going through thick and thin and is a passionate supporter who largely balances the show and keeps it from falling into chaos (personally, i don't mind some chaos).. i have also loved the addition of penny to the odd pod this year. its fine if its not you're cup of tea, but [censored] on it when its likely that people from the pod read the forum is pretty ****ty. they don't [censored] on demonland and also refer to it at times. i love having shows that i can listen to and listen to supporters that say things that resonate with me. the fact that they cover AFL Mens, AFLW and Casey these days is an added bonus.

go dees.

No! Never change! I like my Long Format Joe Rogan style Dees Pod!

There was an awkward silence in the room upon the realisation he was being serious. Afterwards Ryan said he didn’t know what to say so he just proceeded with the next question.

I mean seeing as we gave him an assistant coaching gig with no experience, he should be ready to be a head coach in no time!

it would be very unusual for a player to be a senior coach after one assistant afl role - the ones i can think of of late are voss, buckley, and hir

Agree wwsw coaches need a good apprenticeship under several coaches and some qualifications under your cap as well.
