should have finished it off yourself jvr

Fritsch. Useless trying to take a chest mask instead of our in front

The right kick by Roo

We need some good on ballers

JVR could have kicked that

It was the right choice to give it off to Fritsch in front of goal. It was the wrong choice for Fritsch not to put his damn arms out and take a mark.

Such laziness and lack of competitiveness.

JVR should have hand balled to Trac to snap the behind

Not a great advert for the Max Viney tackle training

Fritsch is the laziest footballer in the comp. 1 f*ing kick for the afternoon

Jefferson trying to emulate him

Oliver & Trac absolutely pathetic, win a contest!

GOODWIN - play someone else on ball.

That last play there sums up our forward line.

JVR has an empty goal square and forward line. Fritsch has a team mate streaming towards him.

Three options:

  1. Fritsch leads hard to space. JVR kicks to him. Clean shot on goal.

  2. Fritsch drags his opponent away or runs off him to create space. JVR even shoots at goal or kicks/handballs to a free Fritsch.

  3. JVR backs himself in and has a shot at goal.

None of the above happen. Fritsch jogs a lead. JVR does a chip kick 15 meters. Fritsch is spoiled, Crows get it out.

This team is actually unwatchable.

Disgraceful quarter. Honourable loss coming up.

No honour in the last 40 mins of footy

Yeah but if he missed we would be saying he should have passed it to a leading fritsch

Rivers was smashing them early, and then the genius puts him down back, where he has barely touched it since. Outside of Rivers, Viney tries hard. I'd be moving Petracca and Oliver on at years end.

he has said for the past two weeks that others ie x and langford will get more time in the middle, have not seen them in their once today?

Fritsch wasn't leading. He was running towards a player with the ball. Melksham would have broken off the Crows defender to create space. Fritsch just runs in a straight line.

It’s great Melky kicking a few. But surely it should be others kicking the goals.

Why oh ferking why

Our once tough as nails much vaunted, veteran midfielders have turned to marshmallows! It’s embarrassing watching the Crows mids just bulldoze straight through them.

14 premiership players out there for Melbourne

Playing like school kids

Goodwin has killed this team

Remember when games like this were would see Oliver come out and take the game by the scruff of the neck.. a long time ago

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
