Unlike us then eh??

I would say that the Dees and the Blues are in very similar situations with both clubs facing a fork in the road moment at the end of this season. If the right moves are made, being back in contention in a couple of seasons is certainly possible and achievable. Full blown rebuilds are not required. But some calls need to be made now.

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned but this round sees the top eight play the bottom eight, hence the mauling of some sides already and likely more to follow. This Ess/GCS match is close-ish now but will probs end up with Essendon being mercilessly thrashed. Or at least I hope so!!!

2 draft/trade periods, 2025 and 2026 for a reset under a new coaching team, head of football and CEO (CEO already onboard).

Thats all well and good to do a reset in 25 and 26 but I doubt you will be challenging for a few years after that.

We sure dodged a bullet overlooking Caddy.

And credit to Essendon for being mentally switched on against Gold Coast in the first quarter despite coming off a break and being injury depleted.

I'm not a fan of EFC but I think I'm less a fan of Hardwick.

Whilst he's at GCS I hope they go nowhere fast...

High draft pick turns out to be a good player!!!!!!

Hold the presses and pass me my hairshirt.

Caddy will be a star. No doubt.

Moyle would have to be a starting ruck in a lot of teams.

Anderson, Rowell, Miller. That’s a gun midfield. Tough. Pace. Goalkickers.

Given they would have had maximum input into their own fixture that would be no surprise.

Def. It's not called the FIXture for nothing.

Yes and here we are handing out lessons to Windsor, JVR & Jeffo, in out in out….

A lot of people think it’s a lock that Goody coaches next year purely because of his contract, the way he’s selecting the teams tells the opposite story.

In 2019, I wrote a long dissertation that I posted here on the pros and cons of sacking a coach. It's merely a business case. If the cost of replacing him is less that the amount the club looses in membership revenue - then it becomes pretty compelling for coach and club to part ways. We are there now.

Wish we could get Moyle out of Goldcoast as Gawns apprentice

He looks like a young version of the Chief from the movie One Flew over the Cookoo Nest

Imagine we had a key fwd like Archer May, mid season pickup and better than any we have

Archer May. Part of Sandy Dragons premiership team. Ignored in last years draft. Looks a definite player as a key forward.

Archer is the son of Dermott Brereton’s partner which is why with every mark he takes and/or goal he kicks the cameras go straight to Brereton in the stands. This pisses me off royally, as does the number of times the cameras go to Peter Daicos in the stands whenever Nick does anything of note. Sure, show the parents of a debutante if you must but they’re still doing it now.

GC with a score line of 14.4

Makes you envious.

That and the amount of talent they have on their list.

But our picks need time before they perform and big preseasons

The goal reviews always amuse me when they spend 2 minutes looking at video and finally announce 'looking at the snickometer (or whatever they call it) we can see it hit the post. Why on earth do they not look at that first instead of wasting time deciperhing poor quality video?

Topped-off just then by the announcer saying "looking at the angles, we can see on the snickometer". What angles!?

Nonsense. Windsor, Langford and Lindsay have all had very good first seasons.

Oh ffs please give it a rest. We all know how our first quarter against GCS went, it’s been discussed at length in the relevant threads. But to disguise your dig at us by crediting Essendon? Are you giving them props for their following three quarters? Thought not 🙄

Might tune in to the final few minutes to see the bummers lose.

They're really not being spoken about anymore. For a big club they're just bubbling away.

I know we aren't great but at least we've had some success. This club also has a fan base who aren't patient & want success

Definitely recommend you do. It’s good for one’s mind, body and soul. It’s good for Australia. It’s good for everything.

So much MFCSS in here, and every other thread of course. Tiring.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
