Melk has been a fantastic servant but he is not the answer anymore this year is done finals wise so let's give the likes of Jeffo, Adams and Laurie a run.

The time has come to give the youth a go for our 2026 plans.

Even young Verrall play him with Max give him some exposure for 20 or 30 percent game time what the worst that can happen?

We are already losing by 4-5 goals what's a 7-8 goal loss going to do that's different?

Change the mix Goody and Co.

I am over gifting games.

I don’t think Melksham should miss out for players that are clearly not up to it or ready.

For those that lament ‘selection integrity’ - you cannot then turn around and play Santa with games to the kids and not be a hypocrite.

driving up a few hours to the game and looking forward to a kick on the people's first after a few beers and (hopefully) some straight kicking by the dees.. went up last year and it was a great win (Disco and Kolt both played great).

Jeffo MUST play u cant have the Heartbreaker luurve child play forward any longer

Petty was poor last week but Jeffo was far worse last time he played.

4 touches. clangers

Jeffo needs to earn it for a couple more more weeks at casey.

Petty has been ok at times. contested marks. 11 goals and frustrating defenders. No way Jeffo can play that role yet

If we're going to bring in younger players then Melksham has to stay. He's the forward line's Steven May, marshalling the troops and providing the on-field leadership and guidance that they need.

Hey Ditcha, I’m not bothered by PF’s pathetic comment, nor should you be. Don’t let anyone deter you from posting on here.

Hope to see you down at Gosch’s again sometime soon :)

Decided against addressing PF directly. I’d likely cop a warning or a ban.

GC (for 18 hours only) are selling 3 game GA memberships for only $18 for those that are going on Saturday and want to save a buck.

Nice find BBP. Not likely to get cheaper than that.

JvR’s first milestone… 50 games. We made this week’s banner as well as next week’s (vs Adelaide) two weeks ago and left a space across the top of both lest he doesn’t line up this weekend. We have a printed strip acknowledging his 50th which will be stuck down prior to the match.

It’s Kolt’s 20th birthday on Saturday (gameday) and hopefully he’s named in one of the sides (VFL if not AFL) because we have some Happy Birthday Kolt posters printed, and inflated “20” balloons. We don’t do the birthday thing with every player but we have a couple of cheer squad gals who’re massive Kolt fans and this is their doing 🤗 If he doesn’t play on Saturday we’ll keep the posters for next year and get an inflatable “1” to replace the “0”

— Ghosty… bringing you the MFC news that matters

😜

Your enthusiasm brightens my day.

Jefferson in and I don't care who he replaces. It is probably Milkshake but he is probably in his last season all good things come to an end. Then Petty has been worse than Melksham. Probably time for both to have a rest. It won't happen but lever out for Tmac.

Lever dropped by the sounds, which I think makes sense for team balance and form. Please mean that Petty is going to Def as well

Wow I can’t believe that, love it though. In fact half of Demonland has been saying this since the Sydney game.

Excellent call by Goodwin and Co.

Finally some selection integrity.

Dropping an inform T Mac after the club's best win since the 2021 grand final for an injury riddled veteran off a singular VFL return game was anything but integrity.

Yep but Petty if selected MUST play back. Surely Jeffo with 12 goals 4 in the last three games and close to best on in those three must play! Gotta get games into him, season is shot!

If we play Jeffo as sole forward we are essentially throwing him to the wolves.

He needs a senior body down there to assist him I think. I want him to succeed!

I hope so! Deserves another crack and should be played the rest of the season.

Sounds like they are dropping JVR but I don't really understand why. Has limited opportunity forward and kicked 2 goals and competes as second ruck. I wanted to see JVR, Jeffo and Petty forward this week and Melksham out or sub personally.

We are being silly not playing the JVR, Jeffo combo. Style wise they actually compliment each other quite well.

Yep. Then you have Petty to ensure we always have at least 2 key talls down there.

They are essentially playing Melksham as a key forward, it has worked at times but can fail miserably when the bigger defender gets on top of him.

Isn't Johnson back from suspension, Id like to see him, JVR and Jeffo up forward and Petty to defence

He's out injured I believe for 4-6 weeks.

No change

unless injuries i’m not aware of

JVR hopefully working into some form

Perhaps Laurie or Brown in for Howes if we want to mix things up

If Jefferson continues to play well and can be more physical he might get a game in a couple of weeks

We’ve lost the last three games, you happy with that?

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.
