Really hope that all the keyboard heroes on this site who enjoy calling Clarry fat, lazy, unmotivated and so forth when they know absolutely stuff all, sit the [censored] down and shut the [censored] up.

Trying to not waste my time arguing buttholes

When does the team get announced, it seems to get later and later. I miss the old days of Thursday night team announcements

Fair bit of chat on this thread that the Eagle's match is danger game. I reckon the only sense in which it's a danger game is the fallout of a loss.

This is the first time all season I've been confident of win.

They can have as many crisis meetings as they like but that won't change the fact they are clearly not fit enough and are coming off a six-day break (after having to fly from Melbourne, after a late Sunday arvo game, and arriving back in Perth midnight Sunday night

I think we will:

  • look to attack and be aggressive with our ball movement from the get-go

  • really look to spread them and use the width of Optus oval

  • do so by using short kicks to switch and hit up players leading at the ball carrier

  • control the tempo with short kicks until we can 'press go' and then go forward quickly

  • use the corridor more than we have been

  • use lots of long forward handballs

  • kick our highest score thus far

  • win by 64 points

If we don't win the fall out will be vicious.

So many things in our favour and the fact we're playing on a Sat night is an added bonus.

I think Oliver is replaceable but prefer him playing. I wonder if Culley is seen as a possible replacement?

Like for like in my book, but I think Laurie probably has earned the call up.

Goodwin said before round 1 he still has work to do to get back to his best, I think this is all part of that journey, good news is it sounds like him and the club are on the same page these days.

I hope the media and the football world can just leave Oliver alone this week, and get on with the business of the games and players involved.

I'm sure there'll be plenty to talk about. Hopefully one of those things is 3 in a row for the Dees.

Assuming this is a joke? It is the same time/same day every week. Which is a Thursday. At 6.30pm

I enjoyed watching prime Clarry. Chill out Jaded.

Happy for people to discuss replacements for Clarry while he is out but please respect his privacy regarding the mental health stuff and leave it at that.

I find the notion that we should be lying about a mental health issue puzzling. Not sure who that helps.

If it was a joke then I would have made it funnier, and FYI I checked after I wrote (which I should have done before), and the AFL site tells me it's actually 6:20 (so there!)

The Demon stalwart surpassed the number of his father's appearances for the club towards the end of the season. As he approaches his thirties, his pace is inevitably slowing, and he is likely to explore alternative opportunities beyond the team's midfield.

The Demon premiership defender who has the reputation the master of intercept possessions as well as great leadership qualities managed only eight senior games this season as he battled injury and form, prompting speculation that he might be enticed to look elsewhere.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.

The skipper delivered another outstanding season, leading the team from the front, participating in every game, and earning club champion honours, while also securing an equal record eighth All-Australian blazer as a ruckman.  Max Gawn is arguably the greatest exponent of ruck skills in the history of the game; an exceptional leader who has guided the club to a premiership, through the challenging times that followed, and now into the next phase of its storied history.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #12 Koltyn Tholstrup

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
