Big Easter egg hunt on right now at Gosch’s for the kids of players and coaching staff. Bmac (Bella McDonald) is absolutely cleaning up.

Childless players are heading over from AAMI now 😅

Thanks GW.

I know you’ll address this regardless, but a report on May and Kozzie would be appreciated. Yesterday‘s main train session would’ve probably told the full story though.

I heard that Pickett painted his eggs purple, Petracca demanded each member of his extended family receive an egg personally from the coach, and that Oliver had come through in the middle of the night smashing all the eggs on his forehead and then putting them back.

Other than that, things went quite well. The kids were so good at finding the eggs that for next week's game we are going to paint Van Rooyen bright colours and have the kids replace our midfield.

Kossie looked fine - unhindered. May did much less and had a long discussion with Selwyn and Richo. Pure speculation, but he may still be a test tomorrow.

I note that Fritsch, Howes and Henderson are the emergencies. (The message there is that JVR needs a full Casey game). If May doesn't get up and we tap only from emergencies, perhaps Fritsch gets a reprieve and Turner may go back for May? Even though selected forward, Turner could still swap with Petty. Freo's back three of Cox, Pearce and Ryan need to be challenged....

If May plays, and given that Casey play tomorrow, perhaps Fritsch plays a half and is back-up for a warm-up injury?

Otherwise all 23 selected present today together with the Casey boys. Trigger alert, soccer balls present - but most players did goal-kicking.

No rehabbing (Hore, Lever) that I could see.

BTW, it's the 18th today - header needs to change.

Both “trained” normally, although today’s session was really not much to go by because there were kids running around etc. and not a lot of training was happening (today of all days… no soccer balls!). Yesterday my friend was at Casey and said both Koz and Maysie trained unhampered.

Fritta has already been told he’s only playing a half at Casey then he’s heading over to the ‘G before the start of the firsts.

I heard there was a problem with the delivery of the eggs and none were found inside 50

That is so true The Ox I was only thinking the other day that since all the winging and carping on DLand all the training intel has completely dried up. Sad really.

I'd love to know the reasoning behind why we moved our main training from 3 days out to 2 days from match day.

It still doesn't feel right in terms of the boys being able to fully recover / refresh prior to match day.

I'm assuming we made the change this year?

Who's idea was it? What do the boys think after 5 rounds and five consecutive losses?

What are other clubs doing in this regard i wonder.

I realise the losses may not be connected in any way but from outside looking in it raises a flag for me, even if it's a very faint yellow.

No they were all inside 50 but the kids nor the parents could find them. Turned out they were all out of bounds in the forward pocket.

No May.... Howes in. Not like it makes much difference at the moment.

Why would anyone want to post training info and get potted mercilessly by the Eeyore brigade which has multiplied like rabbits?

Juddy’s 8 week old golden retriever puppy joining in the activities this morning. Very happy in her work.

But who is seeing the real training sessions that only occur at Casey these days to be able to report? The training at Gosch’s is recovery or a Captains Run with soccer balls etc.

It's called being demoralised, Ox.

The Captain's run has become a social outing.

Out onto Gosch's, AFL playing for Casey and some Casey players, then the MFC AFL,

No warm-ups, no structure, a few kick to kick, some kick to groundball gathers.

A few lap running some downfield runs.

Fritta and Oliver, work together.

May running around with low impact movements.

Kossie enjoying the camaraderie of other indigenous and their kids. Three juniors were returning the balls on goal kicking, with skill.

Tracc, only goal kicking, appears serious.

Tholstrup has changed body shape, now top light, looking faster.

The emotions seem sober, I assume plenty with self reflection. Glad the Easter egg hunt brought joy to the kids, who shared the paddock with MFC teams.
