Crows don't have picks but they have cap space

This makes them a very suitable trade partner

Pick swaps and future pick trading can make this work

they have pick space?.. has that been reported..? i would've thought they'd be pretty tight?

and the evidence for that would be? carltank have had mostly new people on the scene now half a dozen times in the last 30 years. its going very well for them.

We will see how things pan out in the next year or two but Graham Wright has an awesome track record in previous gigs, so hoping he can keep on with the clean out he clearly has commenced.

Dangerfield was phenomenal last night.

in terms of extending his career it would be great if trac could model danger. would be great for us as well.

I suggest after watching Danger bulldoze the hawks they need a Trac more than they need a Merrett.

Honestly what they need is a Clarry. Trac this year might have gotten out of Dangers way.

Oooh.. Ooh... Someone said the quiet bit loud !!!

Danger reminding everyone why you need a Trac-like player come finals

And Geelong showing that you can still carry poor kicks like Danger if you have the right players around them

Hopefully King can bring some of that IP with him and we allow Trac to play to his strengths in a better system

I think at this stage he's worth more to someone else, particularly given the fact he's not bought in. Would love to see what Hawthorn offer seeing as Essendon are giving to be [censored] to deal with the whole Merrett situation

Ot at worst if Trac wants to leave Sam Mitchell realises he needs a Trac more than a Merrett when September 2026 comes around.

I think that too, we have a great midfield, problem is they’re all bad ball users. Imagine if we could just get them to use the ball well…

Adelaide is growing in confidence Christian Petracca will choose them as his preferred trade destination this off-season.

My views:

Crows can offer NOTHING to the Demons. Nothing! Dees would need 2 x 1st round picks that are top 15. Trac is a star. A match winner. Runner up B&F. He’s the type of player that can play into his 30s and be a mid/fwd weapon. Trac should think about that choice, as my view, he would be foolish to pick them or indeed foolish to leave us.

They already have 14, so there's one. They then have a) future first and b) LOTS of lower picks that if they're clever they can turn into something higher up. Though which clubs with higher picks would be prepared to trade out of the first round remains to be seen.

Crows pick 14 probably becomes 20 by the time of the draft.

I suspect we need another first rounder to go with that and I doubt the Crows will offer it.

Adelaide love to drag it down to the deadline and pay the bare minimum.

Not a good result for us if Tracc aims to go there.

He is contracted, so we keep him unless the offer is to good to refuse..

If its not ganna make us better why would we do it?? simple

I’m hoping (fairly confident) Trac’s management don’t nominate a preferred trading partner until they understand if that partner can satisfy Melbourne. They don’t want this to play out like it did last year / they looked stupid trying to land him at Collingwood when they had absolutely nothing to give us

14 + F1

On trade Crom F1 for Flanders

Take P14 to the draft wouldn't be terrible

High first rounder + Jake Soligo.

The only way to get Walter is if GC go all in for a flag and we give someone like Fritsch as well as Trac in some sort of deal.

Flanders for Trac straight swap would be close. Flanders only turned 24 in July.

Rubbish. Petracca is a gun Flanders has done nothing. People forget we hold the cards if we don't get a great deal he stays. I'd be wanting Flanders and pick 6 minimum. Add Walter or Read and pick 13 and then we are talking. We will not give away Petracca just because he maybe wants out. He signed a contract unless it's a monster trade deal then he stays suck it up Petracca you signed the contract you only have yourself to blame.

These things are usually not straight forward and I suspect a club like Gold Coast may get involved.

Out: Petracca

In: Flanders and Pick 14

Or

Pick 6 (10-12) and 14 (20+)

Not the worst outcome.

Onus is on Adelaide to get the deal done. They'll have motivation to not drag their heals and offer unders as they'll want to secure a piece that could unlock a chance at a premiership.

I suspect that's how most trades of contracted players go down unless the player goes scorch earth like Merrett. But it does rely on list managers sticking to their word and not getting cute.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.
