Collingwood gave up their future to get Schultz and Houston. Schultz has been very average, not worth the first round pick they gave up.

McStay has spent more time in rehab than playing (22 of possible 73 games since he got to Collingwood).

Way to early to make a call on Perryman and Membrey.

They were average last year and their 3-1 record this year has been far from impressive.

We are 0-4 & 1 win from our last 10 games but who’s counting

Exactly what’s in it for Melbourne? Just you wait, the entire media will use the ‘get his salary off our books’ and expect us give away a former Norm Smith medalist and until mid last year a top 5 AFL player for free

Neal Bullen a huge loss to the Demons Best link player Worked so hard defensively and was the best clubman

Petracca's anger and frustration after the loss to Geelong was significant.

The vision of this has been replayed a few times now.

In some ways, it is good, because it shows he hates losing and wants the Demons to win. But it could also be a sign that he is fed up and wants to leave....

Let's hope it's the former rather than the latter.

He was quite distraught. He's an elite athlete as they all are but you can see it cuts deep to lose. To now be 0-4 that will be a litte soul destroying for someone like him. I don't blame him if we wants to leave. He can give it his all but it takes a team effort to win and we are being out coached.

Is he playing his role? He needs to do the team thing and stick a tackle as well.

Trac's body language suggests he wants out. hard to blame him

Only if you want to interpret it that way.

You could equally view it as a guy who wants to commit to this club and so is frustrated that we’re not winning.

His passion and energy after his two goals looked genuine and strong.

He’s an emotional guy. We’re playing like [censored] right now. It would be more worrying to me if he wasn’t reacting to our form, tbh.

That’s the way I see it as well

It could also be interpreted as “I’m wasting my time in this f’ing team, get me out of here”

what i meant was his level of execution and effort was much better than his team mates hence why would he hang around

Again, if you want it to, sure.

The point I'm making is that his body language can't be interpreted as definitively meaning anything.

What about in the context of the whole situation last year in October?

How would you interpret his body language on the field?

I think Trac made a statement by changing his management to one that is not accredited to do trade or contract negotiations, as saying "I'm staying put"

She’s said she’s going to get accrediation, it’s a 3 day course and online exam. No reason she cant be accredited by trade period.

I think @Dannyz comment that “Tracc doesn’t like his teammates and the players don’t like Clarry” led me to my comment. If true - and I have no reason to doubt @Dannyz - then it would seem that bridges have not been mended and we are a fractured team. And we are playing like it. There is no selflessness, there is no “love”. Its going to take a better coach than Goody to fix that. We may be better off getting rid of both of them. It cannot go on as our good young players are going backwards - Rivers, Fritsch, Petty, JVR - which is criminal, given their obvious talents. I was thinking that Rivers might be our next captain, but you cannot nominate a captain whose playing in the 2’s. It’s time for big changes - do we have the gonads to make them?

The Maggot Media are doing a job on MFC and us supporters and infiltrators, and it's all about revenge of the [censored]. Ever since and a little before the GF the verdict was in from me. The AFL AND THE Media as uneducated muppets as they are, were worried about two players that were fresh, fast and big, along with a Ruckman who laughed at their stupid questions, and lack of knowledge.

I blame him. He’s paid plenty in a contract he was happy to sign. Now it’s tough he wants out. Blokes a complete [censored]

Good PR by team Petracca start planting the seed in round 4 that you're still unhappy, expect him to go on a hunger strike if we lose next week

What are you referring too here?

The problem for Trac is he'd be wanting any club he moved to, to be:

  1. A big club

  2. Melbourne based

  3. Winning

  4. Able to fit in his contract

  5. Able to facilitate a trade

That rules out Collingwood and Carlton. Pies don't have the trade capital, Blues don't have the salary cap space.

Leaves Hawks (why would they?), Tiges and Essendon (aren't winning).

The whole team bonding session has failed dismally in Bright. That much is clear. Figure out who is at centre of this. Clarry? Trac? and [censored] them off end of year for whatever we can salvage. Frankly I don't care as long as the rot has been stopped. They are both contracted for another 5+ years and we cannot continue to have them impact the stability and wellbeing of the club.

The best scenario we can hope for is to have both Trac and Oliver play well and consistently to attract at least some interest and value. But our position right now as a club will mean that we will get absolutely murdered on the negotiating front. If we can get a single first round pick for both players, we just have to take it. Makes me feel ill, but this is how toxic the whole situation is.

We cant also be taking only draft picks either. We have to overpay to get other players in the door. Have to chase pre-agents. Its going to be so difficult to get anyone to come in atm given the absolute joke of a club we have become in the last 6 months.

Only MFC can implode the way we have. How i wish i didnt love this club and that i could just not give a [censored].

Oh here we go it's the medias fault again. Always everyone elses fault, couldn't be that the people running the club have been incompetent and [censored] it all up.

An Inherent dislike, supported by the " old fools club"

Not hard to think that comments being levelled at Petracca ONLY for being so disappointed and such a proud player are actually an INSULT to the rest of the team.

They should be insulted, they're playing like garbage. Petracca has every right to be disappointed/frustrated, he's feeling the same as the supporters.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.
