Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver in 2026

Just to clarify that. Tom sent his tweet on Monday at 12.05pm which was before or during King's meeting with list management.

I'd be shocked if King formed a view before meeeting with Trac. In fact I'd be worried if King formed a view before meeting him.

If Trac is hearing via the media that the club is happy to let him go it would be discouraging. Lets wait till King and Trac meet.

In all honesty LH don’t put any credence in the AFL Press, we should not underestimate either Steven King or Christian Petracca they failed last year and aren’t allowed to comment on Geelong shenanigans, so damn tiresome……!!!!

CHATGPT can't help someone familiar with footy with some questions like "should A do B" or "where should he play on the field". It will just hoover up all the mindless drivel people have posted or put in the media, mix it with anything sensible that has ever been on the web about footy and process it to produce bleeding obvious recommendations (or go off in a hallucination to say A should run for President of the USA).

Golly gosh I feel for B. Should we take out a restraining order?

He signed a monster contract and took a kings ransom then proceeded to act like a petulant child by exploring trades. He refuses to address media speculation and clearly isn't committed to the club. As the highest paid player on our list, this is toxic.

You don't need to agree with my opinions, but you don't get to declare them categorically wrong because regardless of how much free time you apparently have to go to training sessions, you're no more inside trac's mind than any of us.

(Sigh) I work two jobs, I have three children and now one grandchild, I don’t have free time… I make time to spend at various footy-related events because I want to and because I can.

Maybe I should add this to my bio 🤔

Look — you two are my equal second-favourite posters. This is worse than hearing Milky’s knocked out Mayzie again; please desist, otherwise I’m going to need to call the crisis line for a moderator-assisted detox and three solid weeks away from Demonland.

They’re probably happy with anyone, let’s be real. Their supporters will probably be happy if they get a “big scalp”

Why Carlton they wil be sacking Voss next season Curnow wants out & silvagni gone makes zero sense

I'm confused, what are you saying here?

Unsure.. just what was on the radio.

I guess they have always struggled in the midfield.

A near death experience that was poorly handled by our own admission

Oh FFS. Nothing but hyperbole. It wasn't a near death experience.

By that metric, giving birth is a "near-death experience".

I gave birth this morning. And let me tell you, something died.

Your obstetrician is doing a TERRIBLE job if you manage to get a grade 5 spleen laceration, break four ribs and puncture your lung giving birth.

I'm forwarding to Molly Meldrum - he'll understand.

I like you bing but we screwed up

It actually was and that is why he and his family understandably were so angry.

Following the dees is a near death experience.

The amount of jumping at shadows on here right now is world class.

As someone who grew up watching Robbie Flower play footy I have little time for those who aren’t all in, especially those who it would seem would love to play for Collingwood. To think so many wanted Buckley as our coach…..sheesh what a week!

Makes sense to me why he'd want to play for Collingwood. The club he grew up barracking for, excellent coach, fresh start with a successful club and leave behind the basket case of his current team.

Unfortunately the modern day players don't hold the same bias' we as supporters do or perhaps past players did.

Anyway we can both be glad that he won't be getting to Collingwood this off season. It wll be hard enough potentially watching him dominate games in another guernsey, let alone for Collingwood against us on a Kings Birthday... Small wins.

Me.

Too much talk about childbirth in this thread.

Take it to the Mormon board guys

I cannot believe that in the week before two blockbuster prelims the media is opting to run with Trade week style speculation.

I dont think Trac is going anywhere, but if he does it will need to be an incredible deal

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • GAMEDAY: Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back at the MCG and have a massive challenge ahead of them as they take on Premiership contender the Gold Coast Suns. What do you want to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
